Would be cool if the FoR theory about the Covenant simultaneously fighting off another alien empire was true though.
Still sounds implausible, given that the Fringe species were never conquered because they didn't pose a militaristic threat.
I'm not talking about the blind batarians when I refer to the competing alien empire theory.
I separated both of those statements for a reason.
What I say still applies. The Covenant Fringe were just that, a fringe.
In the FoR it was theorized that the reason the covies weren't going ham on humanity even though they easily could have was because most of their forces were actually diverted to fighting a war against a competing alien empire. I was just stating that it would be cool if that theory was actually true and there was a competing alien empire that was now able to push through covenent controlled space and interact with both the UNSC and the now broken covenant.

The idea of fringe species also hints at another recently confirmed 'addition' to the lore- or rather the confirmation of a speculated species in Halo 2's Conversations of The Universe; the Drinol. Huh. I'm very surprised about ADS, though not sprint. What happens as to the actual thing will be interesting, I like the idea of ADS being purely an animation as not hindering movement or anything. I like sprint so awesome, though I hope custom settings allow both to be switched off.
