I always wondered what Halo revolutionized

It was jut making the first majorly successful console shooter. And H2 pretty much single handedly launched XBL.

But yeah, pretty overrated other than that.

inb4 people blame Is-

Oh, I see Meta is already here.
What the fuck are we supposed to blame? Poverty? No criminal has ever murdered children for money.

In Islam? Possibly. Here? Sure

Mom in North Carolina Kills 2 Sons for Insurance Money

Mom shoots Child in Stroller, had a "financial interest in his death"

Meanwhile, a Dad kills his son to play a video game

Crazy people are going to do crazy shit - no matter their religion, political beliefs, etc.
I meant a massacre. Of course people kill each other and kids over nothing.

But nobody has killed a group of children over poverty. They do it because they're deranged or over their beliefs.

Exactly. They do it because they are crazy and believe they need to take their beliefs to the furthest most point.

You have seen it in every religion throughout history - only reason it seems SO more prevalent now is because we have a 24 hour news media to report on this shit at any hour of the day. Not diminishing the tragedy, but to solely blame a belief without examining the psyche of the perpetuator is just as bad.
LOL

Tell me, when was the last time you heard of Catholics blowing up a school in South America because of their belief in god and the fact that they're Catholics?

Yes, a lot of them are deranged. But Islam is the reason they do the things they do. Why does the Taliban exist? Because they want to control the country and force a very strict understanding of the Quran. So, whether or not the higher ups in the organization believe in all this bullshit is irrelevant, because the foot soldiers do believe this shit. They do think they're going to paradise when they blow themselves up.

This shit is prevalent in the Middle East and in Africa because of Islam. Almost nowhere else do we have people killing each other over religion. Nope. Any country in South America? Nope. Mexico? Nope. All 3rd world places with poverty and high levels of violence, but rarely is it over religion.
Not in South America, but have you ever taken a look at the troubles in ireland?
Catholics and Protestants were, and some still are, killing each other in the street over their beliefs. Add the whole independence/unionist stances to the mix and boom.

Go back a couple of hundred years to this not very well known war
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thirty_Years%27_War
8 million casualties because the Catholics wanted to wipe out the Protestants.

What's going on in the middle east is the same sort of shit that went on with Christianity a few hundred years ago.

But that's it. A few centuries ago.

These places are just going through their own middle ages only with automatic rifles and RPGs. If a modern army/ nation is just going to pretend to do something without actually doing anything, I don't see a reason to be there. Either go all out and exterminate these kinds of groups, even if it takes years, or withdraw and let them sort themselves out. Europe went through the very same thing a few centuries back, they can do the same.

The Flood / Re: Anime board
« on: December 16, 2014, 02:22:42 AM »
Okay folks. Listen to that reasoning here. The anime board is more in regards to future expansion.

In fact, I'd doubt it has anything to do with spam whatsoever. Maybe I just don't see this stuff, because I'm not particularily aware of anime spam. But, that board in general is a future project. It's for the future, and that's not a bad idea. You keep anime discussions in there and so on and it'll be nice and cozy. And not only that, a rather welcoming place for new folks who are interested in that sort of stuff.

Not a bad idea. However.

Anarchy shouldn't be swept under the rug so cleanly. Leave some wiggle room for yourselves to bring Anarchy up if you need it. Be flexible, not rigid.

Personally, I don't understand the complaints of choice because I guess I live under a rock. I wasn't aware there a choice about anything in the first place.

Most of all, this is a trial run. Keyword here. Trial.

Temporary.

I can tell you now. The trial run will be short lived. It'll burn out. We don't have the numbers for an anime board. Not yet. But. It never hurts to test stuff.

To both sides.

Loosen up. Mod team, cool your jets a bit. Like I said. Leave some room for flexability. Being rigid is bad in terms of experimentation.

And to the folks bitching? This is a temporary test. Will it stop spam and the like? Probably not. Folks will post where they feel like it. Flood by definition is a place for random shit anyway. But, I'd put money down that it'll be a short lived test.

So. Drop the knives here and let's be civil.

Show some flexability on both sides folks. We can't get shit done if we aren't willing to try new things just to see how they go.

There was a poll which most people said they didn't want one.

They had an offshore oil rig that was destroyed in Fallout 2. The survivors moved east into the enclave vaults at Raven Rock.

For fucks fuxking sake. Apparently community opinion means nothing now anymore. Good job guys, well done listening to what people thought. I'm starting to understand why people think the mod selection here is fucking terrible.

He was aboard a pelican along with a marine, a pilot and an ONI officer. After meeting up with J117, there, they boarded the flagship Ascendant Justice by using th Longsword as a kamikaze ship and then using the pelican to fly into the hangar. They storme te bridge and gave Cortana access to disable life support in remaining sectors of the ship to allow the UNSC to move freely. Finally, they jumped to Reach, rescued the remnants of Blue team and destroyed the station Unyielding Heirophant, hereby stopping an invasion fleet of over 500 warships.

I've always wanted to fly a Longsword.

Ever since CE.
OMG me too, I wanted to fly one so badly ;___;

Too bad it takes a crew of six to man it.
Really? I thought it only took one?

A scorpion tank requires two people. Spartans can use a vehicle by themselves because their suit an interface with te vehicle to help control it. Pelicans need two people to fly.

I mean, modern day jets often have a crew of two, and the bomber that nuked Japan had a few people on it.

What games have Obsidian made that weren't rushed to delivery?

I only know that they made NV. I don't know what else they've done. Besides, what developers have never had to cut content?
Please, look at what happened to Knights of the Old Republic II. When Obsidian has the cut content, it's because they were rushed to a deadline. KotOR II was so bad that easily a quarter of the game was removed in assets. Same thing with NV and all the Legion stuff.

Never played KOTOR. Like I said, FNV is the only Obsidian game I have ever played.
I'd recommend Alpha Protocol and KotOR II (on PC, so you can use the Restorated Content additions) if you like FNV.

I 100%ed FNV. But I don't have a good PC. I play all my Bethesda game son 360.

However, FO3, FNV and Skyrim are my top 3 buys for when I get a good gaming PC.
KoTOR II is a 2004 game, I can almost max it out on my twelve year old computer.

I can't run minecraft.
