The Flood / Re: FireFighter Horror Stories. *Not For The Faint of Heart*

Why do people think dead kids is any worse than regular dead people? I don't understand why killing kids gets people in uproar, but people don't give a shit about everyone else who dies.

Aside from that, I don't know if I'm numb to this kind of thing or something but the whole bike thing had me more interested than shocked.

Jesus, you guys have a lot of games...lol.

I presumed you missed a load of yours off.

I forgot about half of my 360 and ps2 games.
Nope, lol...I own less than 10 games. I usually just rent. I'm not rich like you fgts
Most of my games come from the time when games were £30 rather than £60. Also, I preorder games I want while I have money so that I don't end up spending it and not being able to get it later, like with Halo 4.

Why it shouldn't

Master Chief Collection
Except ODST is being made for it.

Technically, Master Chief is in the game.
Lore wise he is but game wise he isn't. Reach is the only game that's not about him which has him in it by an Easter Egg.

Technically there though.

I hope not, I like discs.

WHAT DID THEY DO TO YOU SON

That's not a retcon of the old version. The Halo 4 version is G79H-TC Pelican Gunship, designed as a heavy weapons platform. The D77H-TCI is still canon.

No. Your brain, and the electrical signals and other shit that make up it are the things that dictate you. When your body and brain dies, that stuff dies with it.

Quite a lot of their members post here. Me, Admirals, Gojira, Fedorekd, Splendid Dust SPLENDID DUST and MoaHErder I've seen here. If you want, I'll message one of the admins about it to seeif they're still interested. But I guess part of it is there's a very small niche of people who actually follow modern halo lore, as opposed to the large crowd for multiplayer.

Septagon / Re: Did we get a verdict on images in signatures?
« on: January 19, 2015, 04:37:50 AM »
Eh. It could be done, but I'd have to go in and make changes to the signature code so that nothing contained in them loaded before opening. Maybe that'll happen, but it's not a priority.

But to placate your need for extra stuff in your sig (even if only a little) I've allowed the "color" bbcode to be used.
There's also the worry some people will use NSFW content or even shock images in there, the staff would have to trawl them regularly to check for people pulling stupid shit.

It could eb a case that the image has to be approved, or it is something you get at a certain post limit like custom titlebars.

« on: January 19, 2015, 04:32:52 AM »
Eh. I don't know if Halo 5 is for me. It feels too much like CoD and it's much too fast for my liking.
NOOOOOOOOOOOO

You've gone to the dark side of Halo....
It doesn't really come off as "Halo" to me. I don't know why, but the new stuff that was introduced in 3, Reach, and even 4 felt different, but still had that "Halo" feel to it.

It doesn't feel like you're trying to control the map and power weapons anymore (even though those are handed to you now on a timer), more like you're just moving around, trying to survive. And heaven forbid if someone else gets the first shot off; it's like your spartan is made out of styrofoam.

Now, I get why they're trying to make it more like a standard run-and-gun shooter, but I don't enjoy it at all. I'll probably stick to Halo 4 for a good long while, unless there's a classic vanilla playlist or something.

At least you're not one of those "hurr durr 345 a shit lol" fanboys. I can respect that.

Less is more. MCC would be the shit if only contained Halo CE and Halo 2 classic.
This is probably the dumbest post I've read today.
No, Reach sucks along with Halo 4.
I really don't give a crap about that.

I've got an idea for you, how about you take your MCC disc, and start scratching it with a steak knife in quadrants I and IV. That way, Halo 3 and 4 won't be on the disc.
They still scramble and narrow down the playlist management. If we had only Halo CE and Halo 2 classic we could play Team Hardcore and anything all day long without having to worry shitty games coming up.
>actually asking for less content for $60

You're literally a retard
Literally
People would have purchased for $60 just to get Halo 2. Less turd is always better on a golden plate. We know you don't care for multiplayer in Halo, but that doesn't mean you have to ruin it for us that do.

Why can you ruin it for the people that want to play reach or 4 then?

I've barely played it.

Oh well.
Same here. When it became opened to the preview members I played it and now I touched it for around three times. To me the gameplay is the best Halo wise so far but the 4V4 shit is just boring to me. I wished they also had a BTB playlist instead of it being a circle jerk for the MLG people.

You just described my thoughts perfectly. I haven't touched the game since playing one match of midshit- I mean regret.
The most I can handle now is one match. It just feels so damn boring since there's hardly anything to do. Most of the time I spend looking for someone and when I do find someone I end up getting double teamed or grenaded. Like I said this beta was nothing more of a test for the MLG people and nobody else. BTB should have also been in this to test out the vehicle combat.

I seem to remember that in Halo 4's hype train, we first got 4v4 footage around the same time as the Infinity commissioning video which showed us the Mammoth and the announcement of Valhalla and the Mantis all within the same fucking month. I really hope 343 doesn't start trying to beg for the tryhardy 'muh bee arr' audience and completely fuck over the BTB side. Right now, we haven't even had any hints about something cool like Invasion or Dominion, at least the former was in the actual beta. Y'know, with banshees and wraiths and fun shit. People can talk shit about everything else about reach as much as they like, but invasion on boneyard was some of the most fun I've had in halo mm.

- Forge World.
It's big but it's not this almighty great forge map. Even though it's big it's very linear, there's hardly an openness to it. Also even though it's called Forge World everything is the same in it. There's no different environments like snow, sand, forest, jungle and you get the point. Everything is the same dull environment.
Quote
- Firefight.
Which is a butchered version of ODST. Instead of it being a survival based game mode it instead is a "see who can get the highest score" game mode. None of the maps were designed for it like the ones in ODST or even Gears of War 2 and 3. In those games they have areas where you can hold up good. That gamemode in Reach is just there to get credits.

- Decent Weapon sandbox
You're kidding, right? The weapons in that game are shit just like the ones in Halo 2 and 3. A decent weapon sandbox would be one where the weapons can do something or have a chance against one another. It's just another one gun Halo game with weapons just to have weapons.

- Could work well if AAs are removed so the community doesn't have a hissy fit
What would be the point of having the game when you take out the thing it was designed around? If the community doesn't want to have a hissy fit then they simply don't play it.

Remember that If any gun other than the BR is useful in any way, the community will have a hissy fit because 'its not halo'.

Gaming / Re: RE: H2A Marine BDU
« on: January 18, 2015, 07:01:53 AM »

I agree. For me personally the marine armor goes H:CE>H2>H3>Reach>H4. I miss those green HUDs from Combat Evolved.

But the green HUDs are a little silly, considering far superior tech is in existence (see Halo: Forward Unto Dawn) before the events of CE, it makes no sense

Until you realise, of course, that CE was released before anything else bar TFoR, and I doubt they could look into the future to make it coincide.

Besides, the Corbulo cadets required an entire visor, one little plate in front of the eye (Which appeared again in Reach's Army and CE's Reach-Based BDU, mind) would be superior, if nothing else apart from the fact that it is lighter and less bulky.
I know what you are saying. Another thing is aren't neural implants a thing too though? They appear in Halo Wars and in the Cairo H2A cutscene it clearly shows an implant on Hood's neck.

It varies. Spartans get full once that allow them to interface with their suit, officers get them so they can interface with the ship, maines (to my knowledge) only get basic ones that contain their FOF tag and their medical information, such as name, blood type and so forth.

Serious / Re: Somewhere along the line we fucked up.
« on: January 17, 2015, 05:48:52 PM »
I know about the oceans thing. But I mean the exploration that is more likely to provide an immediate benerfit- more living space, shit to dig out of the ground and so forth. Because unless we actually have a rapture hidden away somewhere in the bermuda triangle, I don't see the immediate benefit of exploring deeper and deeper into the oceans when we have a very good understanding of the way the Earth works and that technology (Which isn't all too different) could be used to start sending people into space.

-Gas Hydrates
-Rare Earth Metals
-Black Smokers that have unique life on every single one (and deposit a shit-tonne of minerals)

These are three immediate benefits. These would solve our future energy crisis, our reliance on China for most REM's (used in practically anything and everything technological), and you get to study an ecology that is literally found no where else, even on other similar structures. Saying it has "no immediate benefit" is almost insulting, especially when you consider at currently, we can do equally as "little" with space exploration at the moment. (Don't get me wrong, space exploration is a passion of mine, but we've missed tonnes on the ocean and it's easier to get to and doesn't have as much requirements on equipment and crew to do.)

You could say the same about all three for space. If we get to the point where we can at least have automated drones working their way through the asteroid belt, we will not need to dig any terrestrial minerals up again. If scouring the oceans for resources was so easy, we would be doing it already. The fact that our space exploration is much more advanced than our ocean exploration says something, to me at least.
the advancements needed are similar although resource management would be far simpler in the ocean, space is just more interesting.

Space also brings the beneifts of colonisation and the discovery of new elements we have never recorded before.
