Everyone on here hates it because you have a finite supply of cash and you actually have to play the game to make money that might not last you long if you spend like a retard. As long as you don't see playing missions as a chore, you should be able to have fun with it.

I'm not opposed to doing missions as long as it isn't just the same thing over and over again.

>100 billion galaxies, each with several billion- a trillion stars in, most with planet(s) orbiting them

A small star like Sol uses several million tonnes of hydrogen in it'sfusion reaction every second, and can last for several million years before it runs out. Just consider what bigger stars, like the red hypergiant VY Canis Majoris go through every second and for a much longer time.

I love astrophysics <3

OT- I don't have a crush. So I am superior. The only time I ever did, I asked, she said no and then we were just friends after that.

Main sequence yellow dwarfs like the sun have a lifespan of about 10 billion years.

It's gigantic stars like VY Canis Majoris that have short lifespans in the millions of years.

I always get them mixed up.

Easily done. You'd think because they're bigger they'd last longer the the smaller ones.

Still, thinking of the scale of VY to Sol is intense. I did a diagram on a program at school where I made two circles- one the diamter of Sol, one the Diameter of VY.C.M. When looking at Sol, VY just looked like a straight line, it was ridiculous.

What's scary is the fact that there are two stars bigger than VY. NML Cyngi and UY Scuti. UY Scuti is the largest known star, but it's possible that there are even bigger ones.

When were they discovered? Last I heard was VYCM being the largest star.

Improved measurements brought its estimated size down. I was wrong, there are actually 7 stars bigger than VY now. Another star, KY Cygni, is about the same size as VY.

I'm going to have to look into this...

Gaming / Re: Do the Elder Scrolls games now feel all that fantasy to you?
« on: January 31, 2015, 06:20:46 AM »
They feel fantasy, but I don't think they're perfect. I really want to see some of the other races in the games, like the Sloads and all of the Akaviri stuff.
Same here. It gets boring playing as the old same races and seeing them. It wouldn't be so bad if the majority of the races you play as weren't humans. Instead of having all these human races they should have done something like having the Redguards be some sand lizard kike race.

Well, I think they're too far in now to conjure something new up unless you went down a route like the Falmer in Skyrim.

But considering that we have a good deal on (potentially) four akaviri civilisations- one of which is believed to have contacted Tammriel- I would love to see Akavir as a location. Especially considering that that's where the Dragons come from.

http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Akavir_%28Continent%29

^^^ Is a really interesting link.

Why is this so important?

Quantum entaglement could mean for [near] instant communication across the entire planet- even wth modern tech and stuff liek Skype, you still get some delay. If/ when we begin going into space more, it will be the best option for instant communication with Earth from colonies/ craft, rather thna having to wait several minutes/ hours to communicate.

It could revolutionise communications technology.

I'm referring to Nintendo's cut. I mean, if you're not generating revenue, you don't pay anything. 70% of 0 is 0.

And Nintendo is just doing what a few (much smaller examples) have done. I'm not saying it's good, because it isn't, but part of me doubts you'll be sued for not giving Captain Toad a lot of positivity in your Let's Play.
Yeah, definitely not. Bacon was a little dramatic there.

At worst, I'd imagine they wouldn't allow... I don't know, outright mockeries, or... maybe if you're swearing too much, they won't approve of your video. They probably won't even go that far.

Even if they're fairly good with criticism, it also sets a precedent for other games developers to see one of the biggest games companies in the world doing something, and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QfgoDDh4kE0.
Your video got deleted. I Googled the URL and it's saying it's not longer available.

I fucked up trying to link it. I just spoiler'd it instead.

They don't really have any video you need to watch, but I'd recommend listening to them. Or at least the first one, there's been a few cases of the first case happening and the whole nintendo thing could encourage people to do it more :/

They try this shit every year. Those retards fail to realize lets plays help sell games. By doing something that decreases the amount of people doing videos on your games that affects the sells of whatever game they were going to to. It might not be much but it's still a decent amount of people. For example the only reason why I found out about and bought FTL was because of Nerd 3 doing videos about it.

It was his series that made me want to get Shdow of the Colossus. Never heard of it before then.

Then I saw it was £15 in a used games store for the PS2 and decided nope.

I tried to play MCC today and some reason it installed the game again instead. Technology gets dumber and dumber.
The whole experience on the Xbone is a drag, really. It seems slow and stupid compared to the 360's menu/home.

Yeah, snap is really fucking slow and just awful- It took me like, 20 minutes to figure out how to switch from game chat to party chat.

The Flood / Re: Halo Archive got a new website!
« on: January 30, 2015, 06:49:58 PM »
I think their design is fundamentally broken. The header looks great, but when you scroll down that's when the inconsistencies begin. The footer is also terrible. The images on the main slider have different font styles and approaches. The blog page is the best part of the design, but it suffers of some strange choices in color, and images featured on the articles. (Not being consistent) Where the fonts on the partners page is a disaster. Needless to say, that the design is not integrated with the forums is the worst aspect of it.
I consider the blog section the worst part, actually... That white on dark grey is jarring. And I guess if you really want to critique the partners section, then yeah, the fonts are odd. But it's not that bad (and not as bad as their spacing and display of the partner images without some kind of background element support).

And IDK if I would be too harsh about the lack of integration with the forums. Proboards are anal about giving your your database if you want to move, so their options might be limited.

They're building their own forum, the current one is only temporary. Well be moving every thread over via CTRL-C/V. We did that on the move from zetaboards, and will likely execute the same again.
Are you literally going to copy pasta all the threads by hand or are you trying to say you'll use some kind of database converter?

Anyway, what forum software are you guys going to be using? I know vBulletin is popular in some communities that branch out.

I'm not sure. I don't know I it will be just the front page threads or what. (I imagine only the halo related discussion ones would get moved thoug). As for software, I'm not entirely sure.
