The second one is reminiscent of weyland yutani a bit
You're going to have to explain that one. I don't know that one.
What's that off? I've never heard of it yet it reminds me of something. And it's not ratchet and clank.

fuck, you know what
a good example of what i was saying is the gun manufactures in the game Borderlands
even if those are just in black and white, you can see how they all have different personalities that almost tell you about the ideas of the companies
I never really played borderlands. But yeah, I sort of reserve stylised looks for civilians and unofficial armies and official/ military stuff is supposed to have a fully functional look- likewise, my ships are designed forthe military to be function over form, rather than looking cool at the expense of being shit in combat.

i like 3
i feel like there needs to be more symbolism in all of these
could you elaborate on symbolism?
I'm trying to keep them fairly minimalist, so I don't really want to make them too complicated.
it just looks too minimalist, to the point where its generic
it needs symbolic colors, or little hints describing the organization in some manner
i dont know; put some personality into it
I like the minimalism, seems like something a futuristic military dictatorship (if that's what is) would use.
Kind of. The Imperium is the main governing branch of the explored space. The UCE and CPA- United Colonies of Earth and Collective Patrol Army- are the human and alien main military forces, with humans controlling almost as much territory as the alien species combined. As such, both militaries often conduct joint exercises but don't have too much jurisdiction outside of their zone- however, the UCE is generally the full Imperial Military and is the one that borders the Rogue Territories, and conducts invasions and defence of the Human sphere of colonisation, whereas the CPA is more towards the edge of the galaxy so has the human buffer zone meaning it rarely sees action and as a result, is a lot poorer equipped, funded and manned. For civilians, the Imperium is very controlling; most colonies have skyscrapers going into the low atmosphere, with the higher levels being towns in their own right. These towns are generally the rich upper class and the air is cleaner; the lower levels are often much more polluted and dangerous, being the 'slums' of any world they are on, particularly the likes of Earth and the colony Primus. However, information access on the archive (Interstallar internet) is heavily restrcited and history is only taught to make the Imperium appear in a good light. Likewise, powerful human xenophobic attitudes make many cities and even worlds entirely off-limits to some or all alien life. Many of these laws are put into place by the arms manufacturers responsible for supplying the UCE, whose 'Human-first' attitudes wish them to make sure UCE military power is dominant over potential alien uprsing- of course, the irony here is that these laws are the ones that cause most aliens to have a bitter dislike for humans.

Hmm. I prefer to keep things monochrome, to a simple colour scheme. IMO, having too much colour makes it look too crowded, though I tend to prefer minimalist styles over anything complicated in general. However, the emblems for individual fleets, platoons and such will be a lot more designed. Likewise, the army, navy, air force, marines and SpecWar emblems are a lot more personal to their roles but the overall simply has the image of what the namesake is; Earth. I have actually drawn some designs, one had a field of stars behind the earth and some other colonies in the background and another had a rifle and sword, but both felt too tacky to me.

I like the second one. And what Ryle said.
Well, I designed the first one to be more of a 'patch' version of the second, to be an emblem on armour and such, though the bigger one would be used most of the time. Also, what do you mean by symbolism?

UCE?
United Colonies of Earth Defence Force, the human military of my scifi universe, founded in 2354 after the dissolution of the UNCE and the founding of the Imperium.

I made 3 designs for the emblem of the UCE- the first is a cut-down version of the second. The third is another design. Which do you think looks best? I'm leaning towards #3 I think.

Woops, read that as people you dislike
Anyway, people who love social engagements and think anything slightly out of the 'norm' (Whatever that is) should be burnt with fire Overly politcal correct people (The people who find something with the suffix -ist for anything they see) People who like other people. Because my opinions on people are blunt; replaceable and not special. People who like sports

I didn't really care that much before.
Now I'm mad.
Spoiler That annoying fucking habla-music though Yeah because if anything should get you mad about ISIS its the fact they're destroying some stupid old sculptures nobody gives a shit about, not the people they're torturing or killing or anything, right?
People are replaceable.
Statues are forgettable.
As is the average man.
Except the average man and his life has inherently more value than a statue gathering dust in a museum
except the averga eperson doesn't help understand our history.

>Thinks a Reaper could destroy Mantle's Aproach
But it could, easily
This is tempting bait
Mass Effect is a weak Sci-fi
>Reapers destroy galactic civilization every 50,000 years for millions of years >Weak
dumbass
the calculations show that a reaper's hull can barely handle plasma without being rekt in 2 shots, let alone the hard light weapons the forerunners use.
Hardlight is a phony bullshit soft sci-fi concept, so that's LOLS worthy to even use it for an actual comparison
Hardlight has been demonstrated in real life before. Also, the reapers controlling the galaxy is crap. The reapers are basically the 11 year olds in the playground-they have their own corner and every few years, a new kid who's only 5 attempts to join them, and they get pushed over and get a scraped knee. The 11 year olds aren't strong in the long run, it's just they make themselves look stronger by picking fights with kids who are t on the same physical standard as them. The Forerunners are the teachers who can exact authority by sending everyone into detention when they're naughty by taking away their phones and ending break. Then the Precursors are like the school admininistrators and an shut down the entire school if they'd o wish. I feel that's an accurate comparison of Halo to ME.

Basically, getting a group of friends together in town and choosing someone random from the crowd. At random points, one of you walks past them and says something like 'wake up' or 'you're in a dream' or something and watch what happens.
That would be funny as fuck.

If/ when I get a car, I'd just get something that gets me from point A to point B. I don't understand why people spend millions on cars outside of something professional, like, racing.

How, if at all, would this have affected speeds in the UK? Like, would it also slow down over here, too?
It wouldn't do anything outside of the US. No worries, we're safe.
Good. Now we just wait for the time to stri- waitwat?

Depends on the clothes. A $150 two-piece suit is going to be very different from a $400 suit, and so on. Overall, more expensive brands bring quality of workmanship, like material, fit, sewing, and dyeing. Someone earlier in the thread mentioned buying flannel for $20...reality check, you're not buying flannel, you're buying a thick cotton shirt dyed tartan. Flannel is a high quality material, not a color pattern, and it costs more than typical cotton.
Those chinese kids really cost a lot, don't they?
What?
They don't exactly pay the workers who make the stuff a lot now. If it says made in china, then it was probably made by someone earning a couple pennies a day or something.
The average hourly wage of factory workers in China is around $1. You can't live on that here, but in China you can. I don't consider it unethical at all to patronize companies that export labor to China since they provide millions of jobs. The issue is in how those workers are treated; I often buy more expensive brands simply because I've researched them and know how they treat their foreign employees. Dirt-cheap brands are more likely to have abusive working conditions because of how marginal their profits are, needing to cut costs wherever possible.
Or you can buy domestic products, which tend to be double the price. My everyday boots are American-made, my usual jacket is made from a very reputable company that uses Chinese laborers. I can tell you the exact cost of labor put into it, too. I'm not sure if you really meant to spark a discussion, but you're definitely able to be aware of where your products come from and whether it's it's ethically sourced.
Well, my point was more that labour isn't exactly as much a cost fo the companies as your OP implied >.>

Last time I had takeaway food I had indigestion all day.
Prior to that I hadn't had it in over a year so that may have had something to do with it.
