Man I love when they ruined Invasion, the only worthwhile playlist in reach, by adding a bunch of shit forge maps.

.....

I had enough.

If Prehistoric doesn't take the video down, I'll report this website entirely for harassment.
You mean "I'll report this entire website for harassment"

Your vocabulary is that of a 10 year old with a learning disability.
No he's just clarifying that harassment is the only reason he's reporting us and that we shouldn't expect any other charges. He's just being polite.

i like the part where tom hardy is in a plane, really echoed nolan's greatest work
I can't believe getting caught was actually part of his plan. They actually found one of the pilots in the wreckage.

82 hours - 81 of which are on my Hunter (aka about a collective half hour on my other two)

3d, 22h, 55m, 57s.

I still regret allowing myself to be tricked into buying the taken king edition under the promises it had got a lot better since launch.
I think the game got better with every release, except dark below.

TTK is way overhyped by the community though, and it didn't really become something all that playable until RoI, which was disappointing in it's own right, as there wasn't an overwhelming amount of new content like there was if you started playing TTK towards the end of its life. TTK was just not that good at its launch though, and frankly the thing that makes RoI the best era was the fact that TTK released a bunch of free content over the course of year two that was all available by the time RoI came out.

Maybe. I just ran through all the missions and strikes in a week or two and then didn't touch the game again because it was still just as much of a grind as it was at launch, and I wasn't a high enough level to do the Oryx raid. But because I'd done all the content and don't particularly care for the PvP or replaying the same missions over and over to get better gear I just stopped playing.  And none of the people who'd told me the game was better since launch wanted to do a filthy low level raid so I could catch up, meaning that I'd pretty much utterly wasted my money. Having played at launch and then two years later, the game doesn't feel any different. Sure it has more stuff but it's still the same at its core.

I've just sort of accepted now that Destiny isn't my thing. I don't care for the MMO-lite thing it has going on, nor the need to replay missions and stuff not because you want to but because you have to. Destiny 2 is going even more in that direction (which makes sense, given that the fanbase they're taking feedback from are people who enjoy that style of game) but I can't say it's something that really fills in my checklist.

I don't see how a linear borderline-in engine cutscene scripted as fuck """"""gameplay""""" segment with horrifically cringey "gamer talk" can be used as a basis for deciding anything related to a game's quality. It doesn't show off good level design, combat, writing or even graphics.

I'll wait until some actual gameplay gets posted before even giving it any attention. So far it looks like it's just another destiny clone and from a studio that hasn't exactly done much over recent years to gain much favour from players.

For real though, who pre order's a game so they can play a demo.
at least you can preorder, get the code and cancel immediately
most retails have you commit to purchasing the game if you want a beta code
Gamestop prints the code on your receipt, you could turn around and immediately cancel the preorder if you wanted to and there would be nothing they could do about it.
fuck that's hardcore is that what you did

Solonoid's build was pretty decent, but your budget is higher. Any preference for brands?

No preference. One of my friends said Ryzen is generally better in regards to rendering stuff, which is my higher priority. But really, I'm all ears. I'll check out that build though.

It's a little more complicated than just changing the money.
Hardware is way more expensive outside of the US.

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/user/Solonoid/saved/bj7f7P

This build actually costs about £435 GBP if purchased in the US, but will run you £592.42
It costs $956 CAD, which is around £6 cheaper there.

It's one of the hardest parts building for other countries - how much the hardware costs.
I have a friend in Denmark who recently paid $1000 USD for a GTX 1080 Ti.

Oh, cool. I didn't realise it was generally more expensive outside the US, that'll be useful to note. I won't be starting my build until around september when I get my student loan, but I'll keep your link bookmarked. Thanks a lot.

I guess I'll hijack this thread.

What kind of specs am I looking at for about £500-£600? I have a monitor and peripherals sorted so it's purely for the tower.

I'm looking to do light 3D work (anything really really intense I can use uni PCs but I would like to do stuff at home) and misc photoshop/ video stuff for general messing around. Not too interested in playing BF1 on ultra or anything, just wanting to play stuff like Stellaris or Civ or modded Fallout in regards to games.

Google tells me that's around 650-780 you ess dollarydoos.

Will TF2 make its comeback with this
It's on Origin/ EA Access now so I imagine this was purposeful in timing. PC pop has had a big bump in numbers this past week.

Yahtzee19 (the guy who does Zero Punctuation) did a long-running series called "Lets Drown Out" where he and his friend would play a really boring game and just talk about stupid shit over the top. Those were great until he moved to the US and stopped the series.

Isaac Arthur also has a great channel focusing on science and space/ sci-fi related stuff. They make good listening if you want to just minimze a tab and do something else.

Gaming / Re: What are some of your favorite UIs/menus
« on: July 19, 2017, 05:10:43 AM »

I really like the weapon wheel UI in GTA 5. You know exactly what you're picking and how much ammo each gun has so you won't mistakenly pick a gun with 2 bullets left. This is much better than the previous games where you would need to scroll past several guns to get the weapon you wanted (like a sniper or rpg).
The weapon selection in cars is fucking awful though.
