May as well just give it anyway. Every comic aside from Escalation and Fall of Reach.
Pretty sure this is against the rules
Doesn't say anything in the rules. I checked.

When's the Silent Catographer post coming damnit.
hi
All right, quick update on Silent Cartographer, I guess. Sorry for the delay--classes just started for me, so yeah. Unfortunately, I don't remember a great deal of what I experienced, and I didn't take much notes, so I'll only be able to comment on what stuck out the most to me. Perhaps I'll replay the level as soon as my new copy comes in.
This was my favorite level so far, but pretty much only because of the landscape. I thought the beach/island setting was kinda neat, and the fact that it was a lot brighter than previous levels was certainly welcome. The jungle scenery isn't really as lush as it could be--the textures in this game are still an absolute nightmare to look at, but at least it felt a lot more colorful than the last level.
After having been taught a little bit more about how weapons are meant to work, I had a lot more fun using them in different situations--even the assault rifle (even though it's still my least favorite weapon by far). The rocket launcher was introduced, and it was hella fun to use against the hunters.
Exploring the map room was the most fun I've had with the game thus far. I still find the combat pretty monotonous and unending at times, though. The shoot-run-hide-shoot routine gets really old after awhile, especially when I'm just fighting the same damn enemies over and over. Hopefully the flood will come soon.
My new copy should be coming in within the next three days.
Silent Cartographer is one of the best. TBH, I was worried you would inexplicably dislike it. >.>
Spoiler Assault on the Control Room is perhaps my least favorite because of all of the corridors and the ensuing motion sickness I get from that going-in-circles feeling. It's a shame, because I'd like it otherwise. Assault Rifle somehow feels ineffective in this game, and I think the Plasma Rifle is just a better gun, anyway.
At least you get to drive the tank. Two Betrayals doesn't even give you a vehicle so the amount of hoofin' it without anything happening is awful.

I hate that the plasma rifle is better, because I actually find it a lot less fun to use than the AR. Like, I want the AR to be good--but it just isn't, really.
The plasma pistol is godlike, though, as well as being fun to use. That rate of fire is amazing.
Also, I'm aware that I haven't been commenting too much on the story. That's because I'm trying to save some things for the review.
Te next level is where the vehicle combat really kicks in properly. Heavy artillery introduced. Easily my favourite level in the game.

"Master Chief? Mind telling me what you are doing on that ship?
"Sir. Finishing this fight"
*jumps out of ship and lands in woods unconscious*
yep, you sure are finishing it
If i'm not mistaken, chief was onboard the ship for a while between Halo 2 and 3 trying to fight his way to Truth and he only jumped out because he was making no progress and Truth was finaly landing.
I'm actually interested in what happened. Is there a book or something that explains this?
Halo Uprising I have a download link if you want it

I like both.
However, regarding soundtrack, CEA was much better than H2A. H2A pretty much butchered every song with the guitar in it from the original.

People probably just bought Ground Zeroes, not playing the series beforehand, and just thought 'Oooh, it's an action game for PS4, I bet this'll be good! Then complain when it's shorter than they thought.
I got it on Games With Gold, so I don't feel ripped off. But I would have I I had payed for it.

Nope, that's just the prologue. You'll be getting the rest of the story in a week.
I thought people were exaggerating with the paying for a prologue thing Anyway, I'll read the summary or something online. Got a couple of games higher up the list to get first.

Why are the credits playing
Is that it?
I see now why people were pissed at the length of this game
There's also missions to do afterward, and two special DLC missions. There is a reasonable amount of content, you just have to work past the story.
I'm just confused now. I did one mission then the credits played.

Wait... That actually was the end?
WHAT THE FUCK?
I'm really confused

Mother Base was destroyed. If you had played Peace Walker you'd know what it is, why it's significant, and why you'd probably be pissed at watching it burn.
Oh, so that was MB. Okay.

though I wish they'd have made Thel's faction more H2A-like in Halo 5 to represent the difference between both factions.
Well, really, having some of the H4 Sangheili in his faction isn't actually an issue. It's Thel using that model that is the issue.
Meant the armour.

I have an Xbox one and still play my 360 regularly. I've done a Skyrim, full mass effect trilogy and most of a Fallout new Vegas playthrough in the time since I got an XB1 (December)
I mean, I'll probably sell it after backwards compatibility because it'll be pretty redundant an just taking up space. But there's nothing wrong with having one.

Even though the Sangheili look fucking stupid in Halo 3, I am really quite a fan of the 3/ ODST Jiralhanae.
But yeah, Reach, Wars and H2A takes the cake for the other species. To be honest, I don't see te problem with the Halo 4 Kig-Yar. And I've started to come around to the new Sangheili, though I wish they'd have made Thel's faction more H2A-like in Halo 5 to represent the difference between both factions.

Eh. I didn't really rage quit, this, but whatever.
When I got Dark Souls on GWG, I got to a dragon or soemthing just after the praise the sun guy and I was getting eviscerated by it. Anyway, I went off because it wasn't really tht fun and just never went back on again. Deleted it a couple days later for the new battlefield DLC. It wasn't really a rage, I don't get angry at games. But if I'm dying more and more, I stop thinking rationally and go really quiet and determined to get past whatever and usually en up charging in head first instead of being smart about it. So yeah, not like, shouting and screaming rage. Just quiet, "I'm going to do something else because this is pointless" rage.
Oh, I'll generally quit a multiplayer game if it's halo and most of my team are AFK or quit or in any multiplayer game where the enemy team has map domination to the point that you're basically hiding inside base so that you don't get instantly raped by a 108mm shell or something. Those aren't fun to play. It's just hiding for fifteen minutes or whatever because actually moving just means you'll be getting friendly with Mr. 50 Cal very quickly.

I always wondered how non-MGS fans feel when they play Ground Zeroes
It took me a couple of hours to get into te game. I restarted the mission whenever I got seen because I don't want to run n'gun it. But once I got used to the mechanics, I went along pretty easily. Up until I couldn't figure out how to get into the building anyway. Also, whoever was writing these audio logs is pretty fucked up.

>armored kuruma
Fucking noobs. The Zentorno is insanely fast and has no back window, which means if you upgrade armor all the way all you have to do is keep enemies behind you and reverse into them or shoot them and throw explosives. Something you can't do with the Kuruma.
>anything that isn't a hydra Get outta my way I don't deal with the poor.

She won't be able to do anything similar in Halo 5
So other Spartans are showing up in the games now? John is basically obsolete, then, given everyone else is more interesting and has some skill that makes them better than him.
Pretty much. However, John has a deeper connection to the forerunners than any other spartan, and he's still the best squad leader. And Halo 5 (and by extension, the entire reclaimer saga) are about John and the whole man/ machine thing.

Zane survived because of her augmentations
Unless you replaced all of someone's bodily fluids, they're unconscious in fifteen seconds.

i don't think it's terribly difficult to pretend for a moment that he's in a vacuum where he could die, though
especially for the purposes of discussion
Twice people have survived being exposed to vaccuum.... Somehow. Once was in what is generally regarded as one of the worst pieces of Halo fiction, and one was in what was otherwise a brilliant book. But Sam did die because he got shot on a spacecraft and couldn't escape back into space, so he stayed behind to detonate a nuke.

So... Verbs complaining about a protagonist succeeding at stuff?
I guess he'll love Halo 4 then.
Verb, Fred is one of the other 35-ish Spartan IIs and a member of John's squad in the next Halo game. Because John is not the last spartan, Bungie just ignored all the EU material and only bothered to add other Spartans in a game when it made literally no sense in the canon.
Also, Halo installations are designed to support life. Standard life, therefore human life. Installations 04, 05, 03 and 07 have been discovered by the 'current' period of Halo lore (6 years after the point you're at) and all have been able to support humans. One was used by the forerunners to house a human colony for preservation before they died.
All forerunner installations support life. It's rare when we find one that doesn't.
Also, (OT now) Spartans are described as being a blur in combat due to their reflexes out of armour. John, Kelly and Sam (his original squad) were able to infiltrate an insurrectionist base, capture their leader then escape virtually undetected. A base built in an asteroid belt, mind. When they literally had a vaccuum suit and some coveralls and that's it. There were a handful (About 5) that died before 2552 (Daisy, Sam, Arthur, Solomon, possibly the three members of Grey Team who are MIA), and a bunch died on Reaxh. Because, y'know, orbital strikes and being outnumbered a million to one isn't a good choice of odds.
That said, there's still a bunch alive in 2552 after Reach. Alice, Douglas, Jerome, Kelly, John, Fred, Linda, Black I-IV, Will, Kurt (Kinda), Cassandra, Maria, Naomi. That doesn't include the Spartan-III commandos or the Spartan corps made if thousands of augmented ODST troops after the war.
No, I don't know what I'm talking about anymore, that went on a massive tangent.
So, yeah. John would easily survive without MJOLNIR. But he is basically showing obvious signs of PTSD by halo 5, and feels uncomfortable without armour. Understandable, really.

I called mine Vault 69, all of my security and science positions are done by women. Men are only for waiting, sewage treatment and mutant food (Wasteland). Although, I got that dude from F4, he's a badass
The canon vault 68 and 69 was 999 women and a thousand men and vice versa. No joke, this is a thing in the fallout universe.
