Wait a minute... They're re-releasing Noshahr Canals?

That map was a spawncamp bonanza on any gamemode (ignoring TDM because fuck that gamemode in particular). Why of all the re-hashed maps did they add that one?

It sounds like they're implementing the TDM part of it into Dragon Valley in some way. Not te full Noshahr, just the TDM bit.

Ehh.

I'm not overly impressed, now the ONG NEW MAP hype has worn off. Don't get me wrong, the map itself is amazing. But it's more the playstyle it encourages. Basically everyone now uses IRNV scopes and/ or camps, and it's honestly not fun just being killed from nowhere because I didn't see the person.

If I could go on a no Thermal Sights server, I imagine the map would be a lot more fun. Or maybe Zavod just doesn't lend itself to the playstyle. I'm looking forward to Shanghai, to be honest.

Or maybe my team was just incompetent and gave me a sour taste for my first impression.

Can someone explain why we're still fighting the Forerunners?

Didact and friends are still hanging around the neighborhood and decided they really wanted to fuck shit up for everybody.
Didact got nuked, or whichever version of Didact was trying to kill humanity.
The Prometheans sort of make sense, but why are they on several different worlds, and why are still trying to fuck shit up?
Also, DIdact was controlling the Prometheans, why are they still going?

A) He didn't die
B) he gave command of his Promethean forces to Jul 'Mdama
A) What happened to him then?
B) That actually makes sense, thanks.

Long story short, he fell into a up space portal and got transported to installation 03. Here, he is then followed by Blue Team, and they manage to 'kill' him by detonating six composers and detaching a section of te ring, leaving it to fall into the gas giant it orbits.

But it is strongly implied, near enough stated, that he was composed.

I'm still downloading the update.

But I'll be on as soon as it's done.

I can't wait for Shanghai night. I'm disappointed it's not here.

I hope they haven't patched what slash said about the REEOD bots, especially now that I found out you can turn off the headlights for them. Thank you goots/naru/whichever one of you pointed that out.

The grape is gonna be unreal.

I think flash bangs are getting nerfed. Don't quote me on it though. I hope so, though. Playing rush is awful when both teams initiate operation: epilepsy when you're arming the MCOM

Jill Valentine is another example of a female character not over sexualized (with Sheva too I guess, but she sucks). It's a shame she's part of a series that sunk faster than Titanic.
I mean yeah, if I thought really hard, I could probably think of a bunch, too. I love Makoto from Street Fighter, for example.

Mad Max: Fury Road was a feminist's dream.

Well, Anita didn't like it, but that's because she doesn't like violence (her overall shittiest opinion that I don't agree with at all).

You've just reminded me of when thy were all complaining when people cheered because Fallout and Doom - two games known for having excessive gore- had gore.

Eugh.

Containing the new night maps (Zavod: Graveyard Shift, Infiltration of Shanghai and one for Golmud Railway) and a bunch of updates to the other aspects of the game.

Now, we just have the final update with the Community Map, Dragon Valley/ Noshahr Canals remake and then that's a wrap. As far as we know, anyway.

Agh. I don't know if I want to save the experience for the full game or if I want to watch it now.
It's only a short clip of a longer intro

I hate sports
I hate alcohol
I don't think people should be allowed guns in everyday life

So, probably not a manly man.

BO3. The beta is fun so far.
I too enjoy the same shit and "momentum" that AW did better even though Treyarch is saying momentum is key. It's just a gimmick.

It's still the same engine, and piss poor hit detection.

And the guns sound even worse than last games. Treyarch makes shitty gun noises post WaW.

I've heard that BO3's movement system is a gimmick from a couple of other sources. The reason Titanfall's movement system worked was because the maps were designed around the movement, and allowing people to make their own routes. What I've seen of BO3 is that the maps are very linear and they basically force you on certain parkour routes. Titanfall had very large maps that allowed you to build massive speed and work creatively to decide where you go. BO3 appears to be the polar opposite.
This is correct. It doesn't help there is fall damage, and you slow down the moment you hit the floor, thus negating your "momentum".

oh

My favourite thing in titanfall is to jump just as I hit the floor. If you time it just right, you can actually speed up slightly if you're crossing a large area and need to hit another wall.

I can't fucking wait for Halo 5. It would be my GOTY, except that I know I'm going to get more out of Fallout 4.

However, I'm probably more ecstatic for Halo 5's campaign than Fallout 4 in general. I've pre-ordered the limited edition (I have all of them). In the week leading up to H5G, I will basically become a hermit in regards to any kind of social media and internet usage.

Black Ops 3, which is the 36th Call of Duty title if you include all of the main games, handheld games, and expansion packs.

Black Ops 3 is 13th title of the main series however.

fucking hell...
There's 76 Final Fantasy games if you coun't main installment, sub-installmets and handheld games. Two of which aren't released yet.
This isn't counting any remakes.

Over 100 if you include spin-offs and expansions.

Fuck...

Well it's more in depth than the other ones, I'll give them that.

I'm not ready to instantly jump on the "Bethesda is shit" train.
Neither am I. The criticism of certain aspects of F3 and Skyrim are warranted to an extent, but this incessant bashing to the point of obsession on this forum is honestly insufferable.

Yeah. Bethesda doesn't exactly write a great plot, but who plays an RPG for te main plot?
Me.

If the story's bad it may as well just be a free roam A/A game.

Huh. I prefer to go and make my own little story and go full RP.

I rarely play the MQ more than a couple of times.

Gaming / Re: Tropes vs. Women in Video Games: Women as Reward
« on: August 31, 2015, 11:32:51 AM »
My main issue with these works are that it presumes upon "male entitlement" as the issue at hand; in general, I'd expand that to just "entitlement". Towards the end, especially, she makes a comment that male entitlement affects how women interact with each other. Quite frankly, it seems she's using men as a scapegoat for issues. If women weren't interested in rewarding skimpiness, films like Magic Mike wouldn't have been a box office hit (and even though its sequel, Magic Mike XXL, did poorly at the box office in comparison, it still made a large profit).

Another is a comment she makes slightly earlier/later (depending on which section of discussion on male entitlement you predict that I'm speaking of) about "angry public temper tantrums from straight male players have occurred when role-playing games have forced them to interact with gay male characters". The issue with Cortez from Mass Effect 3, and similarly other minorities in Bioware games, is that they are themselves based solely around their "issue"; Cortez is just a gay guy, that's the limit of his development. Anders (Dragon Age II) will react negatively if you refuse him sex after building a significant amount of approval points (a contrast to her issue with reward points in video games, where the player is negatively affected by refusing sex). On the other side, characters who were actually developed past their sexuality are approved of or loved by the gaming community. Dorian (Dragon Age: Inquisition), despite the mixed views towards the game, is generally seen as a good character on his own grounds. Likewise, Arcade Gannon (Fallout: New Vegas) is also a gay character who is beloved and approved of by the gaming community.

I dislike her views, not because they contrast with my own, but because I find it increasingly apparent that they are used to push an agenda and not to inform for the greater benefit of society. No person can be expected, or for that matter possibly be, unbiased on a subject; but her series reeks of bias, with minimal attempts to try and "straighten the curve" toward radical leftist principles.

Also Veronica and, by extension, Christine from Fallout New Vegas. Veronica is probably my favourite character in the game, best follower by far.
