What? I have no idea how being forced to live with someone makes you more stable.

I have Mega Bloks halo models

-Mantis
-Warthog (x2)
-Troop warthog
-Banshee
-Mongoose

Plus a bunch of shade turrets

All my Lego models I have I broke up as a kid and severely regret because I have the manuals but only half the pieces.

It honestly seems like a load of crap, to be honest. But like you said a couple times already--it's not like they expected Halo to become the juggernaut it is today, so maybe I could benefit from learning more about it.

Yeah. Halo CE is very much self-contained. The trilogy very much works like Star Wars - the original was self-contained but left things open, then 2 and 3 act more as a duo with one leading directly after the other. And the third one being pretty bad compared to the second.

Plus, Bungie held a policy that game canon trumps expanded universe so tha caused a fuck ton of inconsistencies and retcons in their era. 343 is now planning the series around book/ comic releases and everything ties in a lot better.

www.halopedia.org is a good website if you get bored and want something interesting to read.

"This one is machine and nerve, and has it's mind concluded. This one is but flesh and faith, and has it's mind deluded."

"Kill me or release me parasite, but do not waste my time with talk!"

"There is much talk, and I have listened, through rock and metal and time. Now I shall talk, and you shall listen."

Probably my favourite non-combat cutscene in the series.

I take my 60fps back.

Custom button mapping. The fact that cosole games still don't allow custom button mapping is awful.

Or the plasma rifle
Or the needler
Or the assault rifle (pre-halo 4)
I don't care much for the needler anyway, to be honest. Too often has my death been the result of the needles taking far too long to detonate. I rarely use it.

Unrelated question:

What's your general opinion of Halo lore/ story, based off what you've read us talking about? Is it something you'd be interested in learning more about or do you think it's a load of crap?

I mean, I generally prefer the books to the games because they 9 times out of 10 have far better writing.

« on: September 17, 2015, 05:06:32 AM »
I'd actually argue that since 343 has taken the wheel, they've started a rather quickly growing body count.

I can only really think of black team and Cortana. They've brought back characters like guilty spark and they're introducing far more characters than what they're killing off.

60 FPS.

There's not a whole lot of weapons in this game, but I still found myself picking favorites: The plasma pistol and the shotgun.
Be warned, Halo: CE is the last time the plasma pistol is ever useful as a primary weapon.

Or the plasma rifle

Cloaked in Blackness I my favourite song from the soundtrack. I think that might be the name of the anniversary remaster version, though.

Also, AOTCR is my favourite level. I'm a sucker for tanks, what can I say?

In the fallout universe does it ever say how many countries are in a wasteland state?

Pretty sure all of them are. There's only a small amount of fertile land left on the planet.
Oh, I thought china only launched a nuke at the USA

They launched thousands. One would destroy a city, not a country.

And even if China and America only launche at each other, it would still devastate the planet from nuclear winter.

Plus, the EU and Middle East had been in a massive war since before the UN was disbanded in 2052.

Good as in, compared to Halo 3/ Reach? Or good compared to the quality of ODST or Halo 4?

Story wise.

I stop by town often now so I may get the TTK edition so I get everything. But then Halo and Fallout come out in a month so I dunno.

I don't know if I can compare it to the stories from Halo, but if I had to - maybe ODST?

The story in TTK is much darker and somber than the vanilla game and original two DLC packs, and the new enemy help give it a pseudo-horror feel in some spots. It also feels much more focused - you aren't just going planet to planet killing bad guys, at least in the main quest-line. It's pretty much "This God is pissed at you and is coming to kill you. Your endgoal is the kill him first", and these quests all build to that conclusion - preparing your ship, getting you new powers, and then having you explore the new area to find him.

I hope that answers your question.

Huh

Might look into it

I need something to kill a month, and it's either this or mad max

Well.
*shrug*

i appreciate her fervor

i would prefer it if future questions asked by me weren't answered until i finish the game, though

K.

Regarding how the flood aren't scary, Bungie do a shit job of setting a tone in a game. The novels depict the war as how fighting an ultra advanced alien empire where one of te species capture and eat humans. Eat them like hot dogs.

As for the flood not being scary...

This motherfucker is like to disagree.

So like

Did none of you realize that "The Arbiter is dead the war is over" was said by a grunt in the officially released gameplay? You know, the same gameplay that said he was alive later on in the level?

Copy and pasting this from another thread for those of you who are worried about the Batch "spoiler". It's false and derives from people either not understanding the context in which the line is said or people who just flat out did not watch/finish the video.

Personally I view this on the same level as saying that the MC is a transsexual black midget since it's already been proven that he isn't, but I'm going to talk to Cheat and see how we want to handle these kinds of "spoilers" in the future.

I'm guessing he was joking.

the mission takes place before the E3 demo (You can hear them talking about sunaion in future-tense), and Thel was alive in that. Plus, it sounds like Arby is under siege/ outnumbered, so it would make sense for the covenant troops to shout that he's dead - he's not in a position to win.

Te doesn't sound that ridiculous though.
Yeah it does. What, just because it's only two letters? I think that's weird in and of itself.

How do you even say it? Tee? Tay? Teh?

Tay, I assume. Still not particularly ridiculous considering it's an actual word in Spanish as well as a hiragana. Obviously it means something different to the Hunters, but that's beside the point.

Now, if it were called Glzrgldltmrti, that's a fucking ridiculous name. I don't even want to think about what kind of horrible tongueless black speech could spew forth a word like that.

I highly doubt they chose Te because it's a spanish word. Either way, it's irrelevant.

the only reason it has a name at all is because it needs a name for other species. The mgalekgolo communicate amongst themselves via electrochemical signals, and almost exclusively deal with the Sangheili and occasionally San 'Shyuum.

Don't see the point in killing characters if they don't have the integrity to make them stay dead.

It's no better than the ending to Twilight.

Except it serves a purpose in the plot. If Jon is the true warrior of the light, then his death is good. As a member of the Night's Watch, he vowed to father no children, swear no allegiance and never abandon his watch from now until his death. He has died, and, if R+L=J is true, that once again makes him eligible for control of the the Iron Throne, and thus overall the saviour of the realm.

GRRM plans things out, he doesn't kill off characters without reason.

6388
It's a pretty widely accepted theory Jon is coming back by warging into Ghost.

Keep my litter in my pocket until I find a bin or a recycling bin. Preferably the latter.

Turn my plugs off at the wall when not in use aside from if I'm downloading and/ or charging something.

I tend not to have two consoles or whatever on at once. My friend always has his laptop on while on Xbox, and it annoys me.
