Saying 'it's probably bad' or discounting because it's not part of a certain series is generally the tell-tale sign of a fanboy.
Except i dont believe that
I dont think dark souls sucks because it isnt metal gear
I think it sucks because it looks like it does
It just so happens that most metal gear games happen to be games that i enjoy
I mean the fact that mgs4 is one of my least favourite games of all time should be enough for you guys
I don't like dark souls as well. But saying it sucks because 'it looks like it' is a bad argument. Considering you've basically said the only games you like are metal gear, a game in the series being your least favourite game isn't that much of an achivement.

"I'm not a fanboy"
"There are no good games apart from mgs"
I'm not a fanboy though.
It's not like I control which games I enjoy and which games I dont

Is this the thread for the new destiny game fellow guardians?
After seeing the picture above, it might be.
343's armour design and bungie's post-reach armour design are pretty much indistinguishable I'm just waiting for spartans to get capes, now.

You press for your notifications when viewing likes on mobile, if you want to get rid of the screen.
I tried this, but it seems to freeze up. I have an Iphone 5c, and it does this on Chrome, Safari, Dolphin, and on the tapatalk mobile web view option (insert anticipated hatred here).
I have an ipod touch 4. and it works fine on that. Safari.

Forerunner tech can detect the presence of flood biomass.
Lekgolo have always been worms. The book was referring to the metallic spine that's used to reinforce the shape of the form when in armour, like you see when you shoot their back in Halo 3/ Reach.

A game that allows you to create your character- both aesthetically (appearance, armour/ clothing) and based on experience (Stats/ skills). Should also allow some element of open-world/ quest gameplay, in which missions are at least accessed from a 'hub' of sorts (ala mass effect) or a complete open world (Like Fallout). A heavy emphasis on dialogue and decision making is ideal, where your decisions can affect the outcome of quests.

I'll gladly take unpleasing retards over autistic men-children.
But they're both autistic fanbases.
Well yeah but one has Chris-can in it and one doesn't.
Okay, one has Chris-chan, but the other has Lemon and Baconshelf.
What have I done?

A fucking tutorial would be nice. I played number 1 and was still figuring out the controls when I was given a boss fight. Doesn't help that asking for help with dark souls usually just results in getting shit for not figuring out something which is in no way explained to you.
That is the tutorial. They tell you literally everything you need to play the game.
Then it didn't explain it very well.
You plunge attack the Asylum Demon by pressing RB as you start to fall, which takes away 50% of its health, then you just run around dodging its attacks until you have time to move in and stab it. As soon as you start to understand the combat it's not much of a challenge.
It never explained the RB falling thing.
It wasn't until I googled it that I figured out how to beat the damn thing. Even past that, the unresponsive controls, uninteresting 'story', horrible creature design, awful fanbase and lack of a pause function turned me off from the game pretty quickly.
It's literally right before the fog gate you go through to fight the boss, you'd have to be blind to miss it.
See above. There's a delay between pressing the button and your sword/shield moving, yes. This is something most people figure out due to how consistent it is, and you time your actions accounting for the delay, it adds more to the gameplay, like it or not.
I like games that are responsive. Not games where I could go make a coffee between when I press the button an the action happens. The story is actually pretty good, even though it's not handed to you and you need to piece things together on your own and discover the world. That's not really a story. That's just lore. Interesting lore, and certainly original for fantasy nowadays, but not story. Why do I care about this quest? Why are my reasons beyond levelling up and killing bigger monsters? I'm pretty sure you're just bullshitting on that one because you didn't get far into the game to see the actual enemy variety. I meant the aesthetic design. I don't care for it. The fanbase is wonderful, shut your mouth. And halo has a fanbase that isn't retarded. It's called play the game or turn the game off. It's really not that hard.
Guess what I did. I'll give you three guesses.

After rigorous studies, I've come to the conclusion that it is not the game's fault that you are blind and have misinformed opinions.
Then I take back what I said. The rest if my arguments still stand though.

I like how the only counter arguments presented to "marriage is stupid" have been "lol you're virgins". I mean if anything it's the people who have lots of sex that don't want to get married.
Either way I don't really agree with anybody here. Marriage isn't stupid but then it isn't really something I see myself doing. But who knows, I've done a lot of things I never thought I'd do. We all have. I bet half the people here saying "LMAO MARRIAGE" will be married sooner than they think.
Spoiler MARRIED TO DEEZ NUTS I'm the guy who got dumped by his girlfriend because I decided I wanted to play more video games. So...

wat
Deci's proudest achievement in life was being able to beat Assault on the Control Room in one day.
One whole day!
LMAO ARE YOU SERIOUS?
I can beat the level in 30 minutes if I'm not messing around doing dumb shit
Yeah. I enjoy the level, so I take my time with the tank. Not enough tank missions in Halo.

new topic: favorite CE map
Mine's Boarding Action, because it's the only one I can remember clearly. I'll have to play MP again if I want to include it in the review, which I should.
There's a reason why an incarnation of blood gulch has been in every game in the series apart from the single player-only ODST. Even the fucking RTS got blood gulch.

Do any of the multiplayer maps have any story signifance?
Aside from being canon locatios in the universe and providing nice lore tidbits, not really. They only have significance if you get some of the references. For example, one of Halo 5's maps is set in a forerunner training ground inside a 'burn', a region of space controlled by the Flood (This is when forerunners were blowing up stars to stop planets being infected). The fact that we get to see what it's like inside that zone is exciting for lore fans. but beyond that, it's not that significant to the story.

I see. Okay, something that's been lost on me--How does Foe Hammer get everywhere so quickly? Or, "did", I should say. I was upset when she bit the dust.
So. The ODSTs (Orbital Drop shock Troopers, they get launched out of spaceships in or it in small meal pods to impact the surface of a planet) on the Autumn were conducting raids across I04 in the entre two week span the and takes place in. They captured a base, successfully defended it then later raided the downed Autumn of it's armour (Tanks, hogs and some mechs as well as a couple of the ship's anti-air 40mm cannons). They gradually stole covenant vehicles and weapons like ghosts and turrets to keep their base safe, and were doing a pretty good job of it until the flood arrived. Anyway, Foehammer was transporting you around the entire time. I'm going to take a guess that she was pretty much on station near to the battle zone, or even providing supporting fire (Pelicans have rocket pods an chain guns) for the infantry. That said, she doesn't really appear after 343 Guilty Spark, when you stop being a military campaign and more fighting for your life. So there's no reason to assume that she wasn't just on station a kilometre or two away ready to pick up. She'd have to be to carry out future transporting reinforcements to and from Alpha Base. So. Long answer to a short question. She was likely on station near-ish to the area you're fighting in on the first few missions, then coincidentally aboard the autumn on the last one. She isn't mentioned from Library-Keyes,

So is that the plot of the series? Destroy every Halo ring?
For the first two games, yeah. Kinda sorta in the third, too, but by the fourth the Halos cease to be a threat.
They're still on standby mode, ready to fire on a moment's notice. It's just that 04 and 04B were blown up, 05 was glassed and 03/ 05/ 07 have big bases set up on them. There's only 01 and 02 that are yet to be accounted for by the UNSC.

Is there any story-related questions you want answering? The novelisation of the game fills in the gaps about what the Pillar if Autumn's marines, the covenant as the flood* were doing while you're doing your thing as chief.
A good portion of the book is set from the POV of a guy who remained able to think throughout being infected, as he is unable to control his body, but merely watch as the infection form controlling him slaughters his fellow troops.
Kinda like headcrab zombies. Throughout the game, I couldn't help but draw parallels between this game and Half-Life 2 (even though HL2 obviously came after--you remember my HL2 impressions thread, though), so that's pretty interesting.
Anyway, I guess I was just underwhelmed by the ending. It was a little emotional, sure. Halo is destroyed, and MC has the sads because he was the only one who made it out alive. I was upset when Foe Hammer bit the dust, too, because she's been helping out since level 2 (how did she get everywhere so fast, anyway?).
But I guess I'm just wondering what MC meant at the end there. It's just begun? I mean, yeah, there's a fuckton of sequels out, so obviously it only has just begun. But we just destroyed Halo. I think Korra mentioned on the other page that there's actually six Halos. So is that the plot of the series? Destroy every Halo ring?
No. The majority of 2 takes place on another ring, though. The original trilogy focuses on fighting and defeating the Covenant and Flood, with the sentinels acting as a secondary antagonistic force. The current series much more focuses on the politics of the post-war factions after the Covenant is destroyed, as all the alien races form thousands of small Covenant factions all vying for their own territorial claim in the galaxy, with some assisting and others killing humans. Also the return of the forerunners and the 'true' flood (The mega powerful type that wipes out galaxies)
