That's pretty cool. I'd love to see some compatibility for Xbox 360 controllers on XB1 someday.

You're fooling yourself if you think any big business does anything less.

Aside from Nintendo? No, nobody thinks otherwise. What's your point.

And as an outsider looking in it's clear Dice hasn't done anything with Battlefield in years. A company that """cares""" wouldn't release BF4 in the state it did. A company that cares wouldn't release Hardline at all.
Dice was rushed to make BF4 because of the release of the Xbox One and PS4 which caused issues and another studio made Hardline, not Dice

So what's the excuse for Battlefield 1?

Hardline being handled by another studio is something I didn't know.
Probably that DICE had BF4 in 2013, set everything aside to fix and support it for a year, then had Battlefront for 2015 release and thus probably didn't have much time for BF1. Plus having to develop Battlefront 2 for 2017.

That's the only reasoning I can come up with for why BF1 was so mediocre.

Also Visceral did Hardline yeah.

I enjoy texturing the dirt buildup in the corners of the axe I'm modelling that no one except me will ever notice.

would you rather be paying for a complete game where it's not guaranteed to be good for $120 bucks or would you rather pay $60 bucks for a game that might be good and then if it is you can spend money to buy the rest of it later? neither sound appealing.
I would happily pay double for a game the quality of Titanfall 2 with the sheer amount of content (Map editor, custom games etc) of Halo Reach and a DLC model involving free content with no microtransaction loot crate involvement whatsoever.

That seems well worth £80-£100 (games here are generally £40-£50) to me, if it's something I'll be spending as much time on as I have for the Halo games pre-H4 or the Bethesda games.

tbh I'm glad they removed most of the bullshit tedium of grinding from the game, it's made D2 a lot more enjoyable. MMOs are shit.

Honestly is it just a reskin battlefield or actually like the old battlefront games where it is mega battles.
It's neither. A star wars texture pack for BF4 would have been pretty much perfect for the reboot considering the old games were just battlefield clones anyway.

Man, the main campaign goes a lot quicker if you make sure to clear all the adventures as you get them rather than wait until the end like I did on my Hunter. Already at level 15 on my Titan and haven't even left Nessus yet.

I still need to get the first one.

Honestly though, the way they've handled pretty much every aspect of the game's PR means if I ever get round to it it'll be a pre-owned buy for me.

I don't know who any of these people are aside from dunkey.

How do you know who Dunkey is but you dont know who Leah is

Its his girlfriend with the mouse voice
I only ever really watched his halo videos. I'm not all too keen on his other content.

weirdo
I actually don't watch that much gaming content on YT outside of stuff that breaks down the design processes and development side of things. Most of my channels are stuff talking about science and all that cool stuff.

There's no reason to treat those two concepts as mutually exclusive. Their actions can be viewed as morally repugnant from a modern viewpoint while also recognizing the impacts they had on the world.
I had this topic come up in my Visual Iconography lecture on scifi yesterday. Lecturer was talking about H.P Lovecraft and his influences on modern fiction stuff before going into how he was really racist and that gets forgotten by a lot of people, but should his cool writing be separated from his personal life?

OT more, I agree with Turkey. It's perfectly possible to respect someone's contributions to art/ science/ whatever while also decrying their shortcomings.

I can't wait to find out what the new sub category of AT-AT is called - and what ill fitting job it has for a giant, slow moving walker
It's called the All-Terrain-Megacaliber-6 or AT-M6. It's fucking stupid.

Sure you didn't get that name from the Code Geass wiki?
I wish it was just some anime shit

I want to put down insurrections on Mars for my corporate overlords with this.

Pretty, and comfortable, but I think they should have made it more modular.
Honestly I just like the aesthetics. I really like guns that look like they belong in space. G11, P90, FN2000, XM8 and TKB-022 all fall into the same category.

Gaming / Re: Battlefront 2
« on: October 07, 2017, 10:30:55 AM »
Played two games of galactic assault and two of starfighter, then uninstalled. The infantry combat just feels sluggish and the map doesn't feel like it was designed for good gameplay. There aren't really any areas where proper firefights can happen so everythibg feels boring. The low FOV (I heard it's locked at 55 on consoles) doesn't help, nor does the Fallout 3 not-iron sights. Game feels like it went to the Operation: Metro/ Locker/ Battlefield 1 school of design where you don't need to design satisfying or particularly interesting gameplay when you could just let everything be a clusterfuck.

Starfighighter assault is just awful. Ships control weirdly, neither as simply as the OG battlefront fighters nor as complex as Battlefield jets or Elite Dangerous' fighters. The lack of any real way to avoid missiles via a Good Trick button or ECM makes combat tedious if you're not hanging around the tighter areas where you can easily lose missiles, and there's a habit of just dying in less than a second because one dude got a good strafing run on you that you couldn't predict in any way.

The game also does a fantastically horrible job of conveying what's actually going on to you. I honestly have no idea what the objective of the starfighter mode is, and the HUD is fucking cluttered and horribly laid out, making actually ascertaining any useful information really difficult.

Overall, the ground gameplay is boring, the starfighter gameplay is tedious and the UI is awful. I really wanted this to be good but it's sealed that I have no interest in buying it.

Finale was kind of meh. Just "oh wow rick and keith david don't like each other and they have a fight yay". As a series finale it sucked.
