Hold up, now that the story of Halo 5 took an entire different turn...does that mean that Hunt The Truth is shit now? I don't mean in quality but in a canonical way.

It is still canon and I would consider that the original direction they were going in before things changed. I think they realized if they committed to the Hunt the Truth like sections they would alienate a large portion of their fanbase. Hunt the Truth is one of the better things in the modern day era that 343 has done. Along with Hunters in the Dark and Hunt the Truth the setup for Guardians was great but 343 shat the bed in regards to Guardian's story.
htt was great, but yes, pretty much its shit in canon. nothing to do with the chief even going rogue or anything

Spoiler I thought HTT was kind of the non-ONI perspective--and saying that Master Chief died was to hide the fact that apparently he was activating the Guardians and causing all that death and destruction. ONI knows better, but if you're just an outsider, you'd think he's become a terrorist. That'd be like hearing Walter Cronkite defected to North Korea.
HTT is fully canon. Just that The Cost/ All Hail isn't. I have no idea where people are getting the idea that the events that transpired in the audio series are non-canon.

Well they were in Fallout 3, a remnant group themselves. That said, they definitely felt shoehorned into F3. I love the game, but the MQ isn't great.
If we could have joined them, that would be amazing. It always felt wierd that I did their bidding but they still shot at me anyway.

When it comes to treatment of the grunts in the Arbiters faction are they equal to the elites like the heretics in Halo 2 or is there still a racism thing going on? I know for the covenant they are treated like shit so do the elites still show some bigotry towards the grunts?

I saw a twenty minute speedrun of the MQ where the guy walked to (Dad Location) then to the Citadel and glitched into the Citadel to start the endgame. It was amazing.

He doesn't. OT- The developers knew full well you can simply skip to the location which you find your father (best quest 2008). They kept it in so people can simply find him by exploring or whatever. They could easily seal access to that location,but they chose not to. I like that. Means I can skip half the main quest straight outta the vault.

It was a concept that was considered for Halo CE but never stated as the intention. By Halo 3, they were separate species.
The Forerunner books fleshed out Forerunners and Humans as two separate species created by the Precursors, and have hints that both are descended from "Inheritors" (Of the mantle).
Make of that what you will.
