Hey guys notice how Deci returned after XSEAN left haha lol busted you're an alt see ya in 3 months after your ban

What was wrong with XSean? That guy was cool.

He couldn't handle people joking with him on here and took everything really personally/ seriously. Combine that with a seemingly abject distate for basic english and an annoying tendancy to post the most cringey shit. He rage quit the site.

What exactly sets Battlefield apart from other shooters?

-Destructible environments (Including bringing down skyscrapers and the like)
-32v32 players
-Combined arms warfare (Multiple tanks, APCs, Jets and Helicopters on one team)
-Class based warfare
-Two years after launch, and BF4 is still getting regular patches and now free downloadable content.

A lot of this is unique for console shooters, in particular. Stuff like 64 player servers is probably the largest player count of any game I know, not including MMOs. And the only game I know that does destructible terrain like Battlefield is Rainbow Six Siege, which is squad warfare.

Plus, it has about 150 guns in various classes to unlcok, plus various attachments to customise their performance to make them better,as well as class exclusive gadgets that work well with each other.

How can Battlefront be a disappointment if everyone already knew that it was going to be shit to begin with?

Because I spent two years since it was announced believing they'd actually follow up on the promises it would be faithful to the originals.

Lol.

Battlefield 4 is good

I often say that Empire was the weakest of the OT.

Over 40 minutes of jabba bullshit and the rest being stormtroopers being fucked by teddy bears? lol
That's RotJ.

I worded that badly.

I meant that ROTJ is way weaker than Empire. Honestly, I consider it to be below RoTS in the scale.

I don't understand how a game being difficult makes it better. Halo 2 legendary being harder than the rest doesn't make it better than it's successors. Hell, if it weren't for the narrative quality of the game, it would be the worst in the series, IMO. Because it's certainly not the gameplay that made that good.

I never understood the appeal of Dark Souls. I generally like having an interesting narrative to pull things together, and that can generally get me to play games I otherwise wouldn't enjoy (Ie  Mass Effect 1, god awful gameplay but good story). I never particularly cared for DS' gameplay (I'm not keen on rolling simulator 2011) and honestly found it boring and frustrating. The setting was original, and I have to give it points for getting away from traditional western or japanese (Albeit I don't know much about japanese stuff too much) fantasy traditions. Though games like Bloodborne and Lords of the Fallen are making Dark Souls clone a genre now, like Saint's Row with GTA clone. But an original setting was where I stopped finding the game interesting and I never really found the urge to pick back up and play after I turned it off. I might pick it back up again if it's o  XB1 backwards compatibility. Maybe.
Dark Souls isn't a hard game. It's just not forgiving of mistakes. People like it because it punishes your own mistakes and how dark and consistent the atmosphere is. The creator himself was entirely against all that crap with "Prepare to die edition" and Dark Souls 2 message of "You'll die over and over", because he feels it completely skips the message of the game. Basically the message being that you run into obstacles in life that may seem hard. You may even fail a few times. But patience, determination, and adapting to the situation allows you to overcome the hardships you are faced with.

At least that's what Dark Souls 1 was about. Dark Souls 2 just has questionable things to make it more hard, like 6 Gargoyles just because, or adds on bosses.

Dark Souls atmosphere is one of the main appeals of the game and immerses people, along with a story you have to actually investigate and piece together yourself, and with the community that plays it. You may be right about some character or event, or you may not be. There is just enough ambiguity to guide the player down the general path, but not give him the transcript of it all.

They like it because it doesn't insult their intelligence by explaining everything to them and holding their hand for everything. And in today's day and age of the video game industry, that is a dying art. Consider old RPG's of the 90's and how you actually had to read entries to things, listen to NPC's, and actually think. There was no quest marker telling you exactly where to go, or things in the corners of your screen constantly reminding you of something you need to do, or giving you handicaps to help you out if you keep failing.

In fact, that reason right there is a huge reason people loved Morrowind and why everything after has been seen as too bland and uninteresting.

Eh. I've always liked stories with characters, character interactions and a more clearly defined goal or reason for doing something. More traditional storytelling. It's not a bad thing that people prefer the dark souls method but it's not for me.

I thought people liked morrowind more because it's quests had choices and it's weapons and armour system wasn't as shallow as it's successors.

didnt they have Glass or something? the Minecraft thing.

Hololens.

Plus, they also announced that part ership with Oculus and (iirc) Valve and whatever they're doing.

For someone like Pip, who isn't as much into the Fallout series (At least, that's the impression I got from OP), Fallout 4 is an excellent introduction to the series. It gets you into the general style of a Fallout game, and (from the combat perspective) is an easy transition from other shooters, and it means the subpar shooting mechanics of 3 and Vegas would be an easier transition.

It's not that Vegas or 3 were bad in my eyes, but the art style drew me away.

I more meant that you hadn't played much of them >.>

What do you mean by the art style? Do you mean the 50's retro-future look or the less-than-amazing textures or something else? It's never  complaint I've heard about Fallout before.

The fact that it's always cloudy and gloomy, there is little to no reason for it to be always cloudy. Weather should still be happening. So sunlight should appear!

That's my main issue, the other is the VATS system in 3 and New Vegas.

Fallout New Vegas is blue skies and sunny.

You don't have to vats

Can anyone explain to me what the point of ranking up and exp is? Just new cosmetics and such? And for the Req packs, I have about 17,000 points. Should I buy the gold one or what's the best thing to do? And do I have unlimited storage space or should I be selling requisitions?

You get a free req pack when you level up. That's about it.

Get silvers. They cost half as much as a gold but you get the same amount of permanent REQs, though you forfeit potential Mythic armours (IE Blue Team/ Osiris armours). Sell weapons and vehicles if you don't plan on playing warzone as you can get additional points from selling them.

What's funny is that I dont understand how people find F4 unforgettable. The writing isn't even bad, just people were expecting some ridiculous stuff. Its like ES, the good writing is in the lore/writings you find. I mean I guess the Vault purposes were really easy to find out, but there also a lot of stuff that you have to search for, such as the additional purpose for 111 (beyond Cryogenics)
I didn't have a problem with a lot of the writing actually. It certainly was a step up from Fallout 3 and Skyrim. My main complaints come with some gameplay choices, lack of choices, fetch quests, compatibility (that's not the word I'm thinking of. I'm saying it stutters horribly in the city even on the top end computers) on PC and the lack of dialogue options. That and just the world exploring is pretty much useless because there is no point going at the end of dungeons in this game since Legendary Monsters now drop the loot. So when you lockpick that master chest at the end of whatever building, odds are you're finding some Pipe Rifle.

Again.

Badly optimised? I'm on XB1 and I've managed to keep a stable 30fps, for the most part. My only real major drop was in the Last Voyage of the USS Constituation quest, when I tried to go to the ship after siding with Cpt. Ironsides. Dear god, the framerate ;-;

I still consider the game a solid 8/10, though, for all it's faults. Maybe it's because after several years of mediocre/ disappointing releases, it was nice to have a game where what was advertised was what you got. The weapon crafting and armour crafting is really a superb addition to the game, but it reduces the specialness of a unique weapon. Most of the time, I just dump or sell anything I can't scrap. I find it perplexing, though, that they didn't include ammuniciton crafting. They could have just copy/pasted the system from New Vegas and then added some additional options because of raw materials in FO4, and ammo crafting would've been brilliant. Get rid of useless .38 rounds and convert them to other ammo types.

For someone like Pip, who isn't as much into the Fallout series (At least, that's the impression I got from OP), Fallout 4 is an excellent introduction to the series.
