Honestly it's easier to just be disappointed by anything from DICE these days.

DICE Sweden, at least. Haven't kept up with DICE LA to be fair (they released Hardline though, which makes no sense as a Battlefield game).

Visceral did HL. LA has been patching and working on Battlefield 4.

Isn't there a problem with nuclear waste disposal right now? Like, scientists and engineers haven't really figured out the best method of getting rid of it? Nuclear power isn't something I read into a lot.

Nah it's super easy, relatively speaking. Some can be recycled, and the rest is encased in concrete and buried in dirt. Having a few sites for disposal is infinitely better than having millions of tons of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

And once we develop mass-driver technology more, we can shoot it into the sun.

seems to me that there's a decent balance between libs and cons, but representation within each individual thread might be skewed based on the topic/user availability/interest.

i wonder who our moderates are.

I'm fairly centrist, for British standards. For American standards I'm still a filthy commie, though.

BF4 is a pathetic joke and an inherently broken game.
It was at launch but it's fine now. Still doesn't excuse that though. It'll always be remembered as a broken game.

Battlefield 4 is arguably one of, if not the best multiplayer shooter on the market right now. At least for consoles.

I really consider DICE LA to be an unsung hero in AAA development. They took BF4 and not only fixed it but then proceeded to provide free additional content to anyone who bought the game after the premium stuff finished when they could have easily pulled a 343 by making it workable then sweeping it under the rug when the next installment released. Regardless of it's launch or DICE stockholm being the developers, LA truly turned BF4 into one of the greatest multiplayer shooters on the market right now. And it shows, with a population still going strong two years after release, when newer games like Halo 5, Battlefront and Hardline all had a very large drop off very quickly, and it doesn't seem likely those populations will return any time soon.

Battlefront is the best multiplayer shooter on the market right now, and that's sad. BF4 is terribly unbalanced and still broken in many aspects despite the "fixing". It's a steaming pile of shit.

Ypu repeat this same rhetoric every time.the game is mentioned but you've never posted examples. I presume you haven't played in at least a year.

Wrong, I played it recently. There are too many examples to post.

Why is David Cameron visiting the flooded areas. I think they've suffered enough.

Well he had to convene a cobra meeting to show him where the north of England was, so we shouldn't let the effort go to waste.

I would never want to live on a farm. I hate that "simple life" living. Most of what I buy at the store is not factory processed, and comes from a farm though. So I'm sorry.
'Complex' living is absolutely more stressful.

Bacon your situation makes me feel shitty for stressing as much as I have lately. Best of luck to you and your family.

Damn if I haven't been seeing so much bad shit happen to peeps lately. . .

Well aside from the boiler, nothing broke so we ended up lucky.

It does seem that way, yeah.

Uh what? There's a fuckton of them as of late.

I thought the DayZ-inspired survival craze had died down about last year.
It did somewhat it's just that not every game is born off a fucking craze.

I generally classed ark as just another generic survival game in the craze so I didn't really pay attention to it

I'm sorry I don't like what you like.

I'm glad you got so lucky!!!

Thanks.

It took 3 hours to bail out the cellar, but somehow nothing broke. So there's nothing to pay for. Though another storm is presently on its way North from the atlantic so this next week will be fun.

Now the long task of bringing down all the stuff piled upstairs.

The rain is just as bad here, many parts of the town flooded, but luckily I live on a hill so only the peasants will drown.

Lucky bastard

It'd really weird when the bottom of the valley is flooded but literally twenty metres up a hill, the ground has already dried and life is as normal

Damn, I'm guessing you're around Cumbria then.

Does this shit happen to you every year?

West Yorkshire, actually. The storm hit much further south than anticipated. So Cumbria didn't get much this time around, but we got the full thing and weren't prepared. A fuck ton of bridges got btfo'd though. Entire towns sealed off kind of thing.

As I understand it, the water has moved downriver and York is getting hit next, so that's where the evacuation is now.

The Flood / Re: My house is about to flood

No permanent damage. Still water in the cellar, but nothing hit the living room. Fuse box wasn't hit but the boiler got soaked with river water. But loads of people who do stuff like electrics and plumbing are offering free services for those affected, so it should be fine.

All in all, we got a lucky break here. There's still entire regions where the power grid failed, so I could definitely be worse off.

Well. It sucks. But what are your plans right now?

Go home and sort shit out

The living room is up a couple stairs so I don't know if the water reached it. If it only got the cellar, then aside from.checking the electricity and boiler, it should be alright. We got everything out and upstairs that wasn't airtight or a freezer, so there shouldn't be too much damage. All the electrics from.downstairs are currently sitting on my bed, so there probably won't be a big loss of stuff. Just a need of redecorating.
