Since this thread is well and thoroughly derailed anyway, I'm interested in your opinions on blood sports.
Like, if someone was able to open a gladiatorial arena for people to fight each other for money and people can bet on it,would you have problems with that? I just mean two people who are fine with it, not slaves versus lions like back in the roman times. It'd be kind of like a more extreme version of boxing or wrestling I guess, in the concept.
It's something I've been thinking about recently, both because I went paintballing and because I'm setting up a system for it in my own writing. I'm interested in hearing your thoughts.

Yeah, I've spent £70 today. Completely worth it, though not something I'd do regularly.
Rough numbers here
45 dollars for entry fee on field
1000 paintball will last you a day 35$
I had my own gear so no need for rental
A basic gun Tipmann 98 custom or A5 is about 280$ plus taxes
A decent mask is 50$
I added mods to my gun
Longer barrel
Stock
Sight
16oz C02 Tank...
The field fee's add up over time.
Each normal size hopper has a capacity of 250 paintball
It was £40 for entry + 500 paintballs + gun + 12 rounds + armour and helmet I paid an extra £10 for a refill, £10 for three smoke grenades and £10 for the M16 upgrade.

He warned a guy for discussing raiding #destiny because his opinion on the subject amttered more (The guy had messaged recon to protest it, saying discussion of raids wasn't breaching the CoC)
Then some other guy decided to make it into a massive deal and got recon sacked

It's based on an honor system. If you shoot someone, you have to rely on them remaining honest and calling themselves out. Most people are honest, but every now and then you get cheaters who try to avoid it, but they typically get caught at some point by the refs. Aesthetics look cool though, you don't have stupid bulbs on the top of all your weapons, and aren't wearing dumb looking jumpsuits all the time. You can wear whatever you want as long as you have a mask. You can be casual with normal clothes or suit up in tactical gear. I find it much more preferential just because of these things, but I can't fully say until I go paintballing sometime for a comparison.
It sounds pretty fun The bulbs on the top of the guns in paintball get kind of annoying when aiming. When you have the mask on, it's constantly stopping you looking down the sights properly Though they're so inaccurate I don't think it particularly matters
