Gaming / Re: Your favorite unbalanced game?« on: March 01, 2016, 02:31:15 AM »Halo Wars Yeah. IT never felt geared for strategy. If I played with friends, we'd try to co-ordinate but it would just eventually devolve into spamming all units orders to spam attack specififc enemies. The awful AI pathfinding didn't help, either. 3604

Serious / Re: Serious History- Do you think Julius Caesar was right in what he did?« on: March 01, 2016, 01:17:30 AM »Well in less than a decade he united all the tribes to march against the NCR. That's something, right? The best we got was "They changed the religion to Christianity and moved Rome to Constantinople and there was this king named Justinian who had a cool wife. He was a good king and stuff". The entirety of my education on Rome from my life boiled down to THESE GUYS R BAD LOOK CRUCIFY! With no real analysis or in-depth study. Same for the Vikings, the Anglo-Saxon stuff and the Wars of the Roses. That last one is kind of ridiculous that we never covered it considering I fucking live in Yorkshire, where the House of YORK was based. But at least I got to learn how bad it was for Britain in WWII because they had to sleep in a subway for a bit. Those fuckers getting tortured and executed in Japan? Nah, they had it easy. Never got a mention because of how bad they like to play it out as london being the most important place in WWII. I believe that's why people never even hear of the Russian Front and are surprised the Russians did most of the work in Europe; because schools love to big up the part about how we were so badly done to. I'm actually pretty sure that my schools were scared of showing us anything that might be constituted as violent because all my history topics were about the glorious industrial revolution and suffragettes and shit. All the boring bits of history, livened only by the promise of Germany between both world wars. So yeah, I have a lot of problems with how my schools (at least) taught history. 3611

I'm better at academic stuff. Like, I could give a pretty good conversation on something like particle physics or computing, but I don't really do the whole social thing well.

I love how the Mass Effect lore just went downhill after #1 as the writers tried to scramble to paste new ideas over the framework built for a different plot and try to make it make sense. It's adorable.

I've waited too long for those ;-; But yeah, most companies would just do what 343 or WB did with MCC and Arkham Knight and try to slip it under the rug in favour of the next release. Funny how he spergs out any time battlefield is mentioned, though. 3617

Gaming / Re: Battlefield 5 might take place during WW1.« on: February 29, 2016, 12:47:10 AM »Still, this rumor alone makes me happy. I swear if we got another AAA modern/future military FPS, I'd kill myself. Yeah but battlefield was the progenitor of the near future fps with 2142 so a successor is pretty logical -especially with what we got in the Final Stand DLC Besides, future war themes are really boring if you don't go in for mechs and hovertanks and cool aircraft - that's basically what battlefield revolves around. 3624

Gaming / Re: Fallout or Elder Scrolls?« on: February 28, 2016, 04:01:05 PM »
I will say I find it easier to RP in TES than in Fallout. I guess there's something about a world where the PC gets abducted by aliens, peoples heads explode after taking a bullet to the face and a system that allows you to pause time to let RNG decide your battles for you that kills some immersion for me. I still massively prefer the lore - I generally find post-apocalyptic settings, particularly one as unique as Fallout's, more interesting than high fantasy.
