Cut it down. The film went on half an hour too long; a lot of the stuff leading up to the big fight could have been cut/ shortened.

Oh, and turn the sound down. Maybe it was just the screen I was in but the film was uncomfortably loud at times. A lot of the doomsday stuff was unenjoyable to watch because of how loud it was.

Slightly related but I went into CEX with the intention of getting KOTOR (Never played them before) but it was like £15 for number 2. Fuck that.

CEX can either be great or really scummy with their pricing.
KOTOR and KOTOR 2 are both under £10 on Steam.

And easy to run on pretty much any computer.

I don't even play PC games much but I see no reason whatsoever to get it on console.

Because my computer can barely run google chrome

anything more intensive than that causes it to break down and curl up in a fetal position

Titanfall was damn good. The balancing was nigh-on perfect (A couple titan weapons were basically useless but pilots were good) and the interplay between pilots and titans was very well done. The parkour was satisfying and intuitive unlike say, Mirrors edge, and the art design is beautiful (I have the concept book and there's some awesome stuff). The world was also intriguing and fills a similar role that Bungie's Halo lore (The more military stuff) used to fill, too.

I can't wait for 2 - especially with the promise of a campaign.

What, by me? Haven't I already done that in the past? I'm 90% certain that I have.

I don't remember

No

Because then they wouldn't be rare any more

I haven't changed much in regards to interests. I still play games (Though I have largely lost my enthusiasm for Halo over the past year), I still like Star Wars, still get Lego every now and then. Only difference is I'm better-versed in physics now so I spend a lot more time reading up on science-related topics.

Does anyone here actually know how to use the airburst correctly?

Interested is all.
The XM25? If memory serves me well, you press Up on the d-pad while aiming to set the range at which you want it to detonate.

It's been awhile but I think that's how it's done.

If I remember correcly it detonates a few meters after the range it's set to. That way you can aim at a wall of a building and then fire the airbust through the window and decimate the people inside. You could ruin people on that Satellite Dish map on Rush with that thing.
Even better is catching snipers with it too.

I just love being able to catch snipers with it - particularly the ones that act all cocky by jumping up and hiding real quick. I wish it wouldn't fire unless locked or something to make it less of a spammy weapon for supports to use as a regular GL.

Aim at something in scope for a few seconds and it will set that distance as the airburst. Aim at the edge of a building then aim up (While not leaving scope) and fire to airburst on the edge of the building. Perfect anti-sniper tool - it can do most of the skyscrapers on Siege just fine.

I have my scifi

Been doing more calculations recently to get an idea for mass amd Delta-V of my warships. I'm going for the hard science approacj to SciFi. No space magic bullshit.
Considering you're working with futuristic concepts, how are you explaining the science behind the technology in your universe?

Oddly enough, I had a similar idea behind "arcane forces" in my fantasy universe. I wanted a more scientific way to convey how people utilize energy, just to add more realism to what essentially equates to magic.

by using technology that can be explained with real science. I'm doing calculations to make sure evrrything from a railgun's velocity to the energy output of a certain reactor, then using those figures to estimate masses and such. All the technology I have is stuff that is being researched noe or is at least possible within the realms of real science if not modern technology.

The one exception is FTL travel.
Very nice. Are you using warp-drives for FTL concepts?
Only the largest starcraft (Warships and a few limited civilian ships) get clearance for FTL because of the military threat in poses.
In war does this condition change or is it a universal (no pun intended) law everyone abides by even in times of war?

The expense alone limits their use. But FTL is unpredictable; a fleet can show up any time, anywhere. Combined with relativistic weaponry (A projectile where the veloxity can be measured in percentages of C) and you can easily see how the situation easily escalated into a cold war. Proxy civil wars, corporate espionage/ warfare (Private armies) and raiding (No pirates in the strictest sense of the term) mean the two main factions have been in conflict for a while. Add on the occupation/ land grab for a bunch of newly-colonised star systems, rogue AI and other players attempting to use the situation for their own end and it becomes a pretty tense situation. The current time frame shows the interstellar cold war turning 'hot', with a UCE admiral defecting from the war emtirely to aid colonists under martial law (Namely after being ordered to nuke an inhabited city as a show of force after an uprising on the same planet) sparking off the first major war for centuries.

There are only16 star systems (All real) and I've done calculations and research myself for orbits, spin, temperature, mass, distance and composition. There are three Earthlike planets including Earth (One is in Eta Cassiopieae a nearby system and the first ever world inhabited outside of Sol) and he other is a major gateway and strategic target in the Rogue Territories/ frontier. Pressure suits and sealed cities for all!

I was originally going to have multiple planets and species but I wasn't satisfied with neither the alien biologies I was trying to do nor the alien cultures I had. I have some primitive life here and there, but if I ever introduce alien spacefaring races, they'll be nigh-on impossible to communicate with and I will be designing them to match their own planet's evolution. Some other fun stuff is no lasers for infantry (Powerful enough to hurt = powerful enough to blind), no plasma weapons (Stupid concept if you look into it) and no stealth in space (Literally impossible)

Direct route wormholes. No course change while in FTL, a single link can house a single ship at once and no wireless communication while in FTL. Only the largest starcraft (Warships and a few limited civilian ships) get clearance for FTL because of the military threat in poses. Similarly, only a few ships get powerful engines (IE interplanetary travel is rare and expensive). It isn't realistic because FTL but it has limitations and I'm using those to my advantage in planning how interstellar war works.

« on: March 27, 2016, 06:41:32 AM »
Season 1 was pretty damn good. Season 2 was also good, but I think I preferred S1. Istarted to find Elektra really annoying, I wish we could have got more Punisher - Jon Bernthal is really good at playing him and the costume in E13 is awesome. All the ninja/ hand shit didn't catch my interest as much as Punisher/ Kingpin.  I also heard we'd be getting a Jessica Jones/ Luke Cage cameo at some point so the fact they only get namedropped was a disappointment.

Regardless, S2 was pretty good to watch.

I still play on XB1 - level 132. All weapons unlocked, all gadgets unlocked. The only vehicle I haven't unlocked everything for is attack jets but fuck jets, I hate using them. I actually got the scout jet stuff simply from points gained from attempting to play air superiority - not being good in them lol

I prefer to play assault. I have the AN-94, Bulldog, F2000, FAMAS, AEK-971, AUG-A3, SCAR-H assault rifles mastered, as well as a bunch of other weapons.

I main assault too, I love the AUG.

I don't like sticking to one weapon - I want to master every weapon in the game (Except for snipers because I hate sniping). Currently working on SAR-21.
