I have this game but I've never played it
And the season pass
You should be ashamed. Go play it now. Don't quit till you finish. It will take a few days, but it's worth it. GOTY 2015. Best game I've played in YEARS. Speaking of, Uncharted 4 unlocks in 120 seconds. Later.
what's the #1 worst thing you can do when recommending someone a game
hyping it the fuck up to a point where his expectations are raised super high, increasing his chance for disappointment
The hype is the sole reason why I don't want to play it. Like, the amount of people fanboying it has put me off buying it. I'm assuming this is how you felt with halo.

Everyone was right to be worried about EA giving Battlefront the Battlefield treatment with DLC up the ass and milking it annually. Battlefield: Star Wars is only a symptom of a much larger cancer infecting video games right now.
A battlefield game with a star wars skin would have been amazing. BF1 pretty much ripped off Battlefield anyway. What we got was neither.

It'll probably be episode VII/VIII. I'm pretty sure EA/ Disney are just trying to pretend the prequels and everything associated with them never happened.
I just want my goddamn clone wars already.

You guys think this game is going to be dead by October or shortly after it? Dark Souls 3 is already out, DOOM comes out on the 13th, No Mans Sky comes out in June, Gears of War 4 and Battlefield 1 come out in October and the Wither 3 DLC comes out some time. I just don't see this game retaining a large population by October due to BF1. I see a lot of people going from this game to that and some of them going to Gears 4.
why would NMS affect halo, they're not on the same platform.
There are people who have both systems you one console peasant.
There isn't really much of a crossover between people who are still playing Halo, people who have an Xbox and a PS4/ PC and people who have interest enough in NMS to pry them away from it. Chances are, people still playing the game are probably people who like it. Everyone with half a brain cell has already gone back to better games, and will probably be looking more to stuff like Battlefield or Call of Duty than NMS. I doubt it will be a significant pull for people, when compared to Battlefield, CoD, Overwatch, Gears and so forth.

Halo 3 Final Fantasy 14 Mass Effect Fallout (except 4)
I hope you know that every Fallout game (including 4) has the same aesthetic
you can argue that the older ones have more rebuilding going on, but 3 and 4 are identical
Well, 4 is a little bit more... cartoony? It's a lot more colourful, but everything looks a bit too cartoony for a lot of people. I love it, but a lot of people preferred the art direction of NV/ 3 which was a bit more gritty.
To be fair, 2 was really cartoony and borderline light hearted at times, as well
but that's what made it memorable and hilarious, it wasn't trying to be some serious edgy RPG
I don't really think FO2 had a particular aesthetic different from FO1. Unless you mean the cutscene faces, though I always assumed that was simply down to the tech available t the time.
anyway I like FO4 so whatever.
It definitely did....Fallout 2 was so much more humorous and lighthearted. The first was great, but still had the tone of a typical dark post apocalyptic story. F2 broke the fourth wall in half the conversations, lol.
yeah but writing isn't art style
in that case, your point about fallout 4 being different is completely wrong
it has the same futuristic americana art style as every other fallout game
nah
everything's a lot more vibrant and colourful than the previous games were. Plus, where FO3 and Vegas had a lot of stone (Or whatever) buildings, FO4 looks more futuristic than the others with big metal round skyscrapers and stuff, a response to a lot of grey/ brown complaints about FO3. They specifically designed the new vault suit to be more cartoony and less gritty/ utalitarian than Fallout 3's (They said in interviews). Plus, having better tech also naturally contributes to stuff.
It's like how Halo CE, 2, 3, ODST and Reach all have a different aesthetic (Read: good) than 343's, but there's still subtle differences between games because of advancements in hardware and software and the inclusion of new artists. Reach and 3 (For example) have a similar aesthetic but there are still differences between the two.
That's the same as Fallout 2. You remember New Reno or Sacramento? Both were colorful and bright, that's kind of an expectation when you hear "50s vision of the distant future".
I don't know, I have no problems with the aesthetic. I'm just saying what I commonly hear. And by common, I mean like, two people.

I like Halo ODST/ Reach and Titanfall for scifi, though Mass Effect has some cool stuff.
I quite like retrofuturism like Fallout, and Dishonoured was also quite nice.

If anyone's interested, he last messaged me on XBL (We used to talk a lot) a couple weeks back and said he was doing okay (As he can be).
I've not heard from him since then.

Uh... it's only $40...
Edit: "Overwatch will instead set you back $40 on PC and $60 on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4."
Oh lol. This is literally giving me Valve vibes with their Left 4 Dead stuff. Sorry, console users
A lot of L4D console stuff was microsoft's doing, not Valve's.
Yeah I know. They wanted to make TF2 stuff free on console as well but MS wouldn't let them, so they dropped it.
I just said Valve
Judging by how TF2 didn't really take off on console, that might have been a better move in the long run.

I liked Reach
Then again, I did stop playing it as soon as I got Bad Company 2 so eh. Custom Games were my only draw for the series in the multiplayer side of things.

haven't had one of these threads for a while
You seem alright but I think I remember disliking you on Bnet. Don't even recall why.
Well fuck you too
