I'd probably go for a smaller SSD and then get a terabyte HDD

Pretty good. Should be able to run most modern games, unless there's something I've overlooked.

I don't really see what the point of saying anything is considering you'd ignore it anyway.

I used to do guitar when I was a kid but I lost interest around the time my parents took interest
And by took interest I meant expecting me to practice it every day and do it as 'homework'. Being expected to do it for someone else rather than my own fun really killed off my enjoyment of it. Usually, I'd just pick it up whenever and find some chords on the internet to learn and just learn songs, but then they decided I should do it as a formal thing and then I gave up. I'd like to go back to it at some point but I don't care enough to go and spend proper money on it, which I would want to if I want to do the kind of music I enjoy because I'd need a guitar and an amp (Muse, RHCP, foo fighters etc). If I were going to do it now, I'd probably want to go for bass or something instead because I know a bunch of people who do guitar and they keep saying they don't know many bass guys. 2898

The Flood / Re: 40k books« on: May 17, 2016, 07:33:32 AM »Gaunts Ghosts is a good place to start; First and Only will explore one of the listed topics and has some pretty neat stuff in it alongside (Also one of the best 40k novels out there). What are they about? Quote The other place to start is in the Horus Heresy which... eh it's 35 books and counting now so I can't really condemn another person to that trial BuT if you pick out the 'Mechanicum' novel by Graham McNeil (also wrote the above mechanicus stuff) then you'll find some nice technology stuff there too. I'm planning on getting the first three HH books. I've heard they're good starters to get into the world. Quote For tyranids and amusement, Ciaphas Cain cannot be beat. However Jews Workshop beat the author to death and all his stuff is out of print now so good luck finding any that aren't £999.99 on amazon. Like the political and civilian side of stuff? That sounds kind of cool. Quote What's it about? Is it like an in-universe guidebook kind of thing? The Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer^This is a great book on so many levels, but again it's kinda good luck finding it because it's been out of print forever. Quote // eewwwwww ebooks If I have to (For the out of print ones), I guess its a necessary sacrifice. 2906
I want to get into 40k. I've done some moderate-ish reading on the subject on lexicanum, so I have what I guess I'd call a general understanding of the setting. Beginner level.
Anyway I'm nearly done with Metro 2034 and Metro 2035 [english translation] and Winds of Winter both seem pretty far off so I want books to read. So fuck it I want to read some 40k. Particularly now I have lost pretty much all interest for Halo. Still need to get the world of ice and fire and the mass effect books. I'm interested in tyranids and the stuff before the imperium (Stuff like iron men, dark age of tech, pre-imperium terra and the beast's waaagh etc) and the mechanicus, though I'm otherwise open to suggestions on what to read first. I'm guessing the pre-imperial stuff isn't ever exactly the focus of a book, but one that talks about it a lot would be cool (Like the bits in ASOIAF where they go on long tangents about the history of westeros/ essos). Though Tyranids are still awesome in all of their eldritch abomination glory. So yeah, calling all 40k guys, recommendations? Based on the stuff I've listed and stuff that's otherwise highly recommended plsthxbai 2907

I like how theon, the most notorious and hated man in the North, is somehow able to book passage on a northern ship.
From places under seige, enemy occupation, unfriendly ownership or a mix of any of them. Then again they seem to have abandoned all pretext that the north is bigger than all other kingdoms put together in favour of mysterious teleportation powers so eh. |
