StarCraft

Interesting, especially since Starcraft usually isn't as popular as other competitive games.

You clearly don't know much about Starcraft

Maybe Nintendo's NX gimmick is that it's just a regular console that plays fun games without motion controls.

The weird thing is, being a console designed with games in mind and no multimedia/ motion controls bullshit would be a gimmick in todays console industry.

- Most of the ODST hair cuts would not meet elite military Standards
- Forerunner village looked like an old Japanese village
- Spartans have active motion detectors that beep when enemy moving is near by
- Spartans don't have long hair

Artistic license. Not representative of canon.
Ancient Human* not Forerunner.
Mk IV armour was different
See point #1
I don't care about artistic license.  If should have to follow Canon rules

I'm not exactly disagreeing. I think Halsey looking like a 15 year old and ridiculous hair was awful, but it's explicitly stated that the artistic license is there because of the medium it's in.

The actual stories being told were fine in of themselves and the way ones like Duel and Homecoming connectedto wider lore was very muxch appreciated by people who actually care about that stuff.

Environment Artist in games. Texturing, skyboxes, that kind of stuff.

That seems like a very detailed oriented job. Are you familiar with doing that kind of stuff?

Yeah

I'm a sucker for detail when it comes to map editing programs (Stuff like forge or even FO4 settlements), and I've been using photoshop to create textures for materials for a number of years. Now I'm teaching myself blender so I can start wrapping textures to actual models.

Of course, I say models meaning stuff like grass or trees or the pretty planet in the background of a corridor shooter. Not as much guns and cars, that's prop artists. It kind of annoys me when people complain about skyboxes looking fancy and the gameplay being bd, saying all the time went into skyboxes, because skybix stuff is generally pretty easy to do as it's purely how pretty it needs to be where level design and whatnot have a lot more stuff that needs to be considered.

Babysitter, Origins and Package (Until the end, anyway) were pretty decent.

Everything else ranged from meh (Homecoming) to cringe inducingly awful (Odd One Out).

- Larry Niven's Ringworld (rereading this one).

What's it like? I've considered reading it because of how influential it was to the early Halo media for Bungie. Is it good?

The vehicles and stuff look pretty good, glad the covenant design i going back towards bungie than 343.

I'm hoping the environments are just downscaled textures and not detailed for keeping the beta small.

The beta is 13 gigs m8.

So it is.

Ah well. *hopefully* a simplified, less detailed design will mean the game doesn't drop frames like was common in HW1.

Someone drew the Fallout 1,2,3, NV and Tactics covers in the style of FO4. Looks really cool.

This is pretty incredible (Vault 101 and Springvale in FO4)

http://m.imgur.com/a/BriCv

Apparently it's a proof of concept, hinting we may be getting something similar to Skywind.
Holy shit, that looks great.

Yeah. Guy said that most of the assets used for that stuff in Fallout 4 are near identical to Fallout 3 versions minus up-ressed textures and stuff. He's doing 101's interior next.

Basically it's entirely possible to do Fallout 3. It's a lot easier than Oblivion>Skyrim because everything is very similar.
