What we need, is nuclear fusion with deuterium. Done properly it is clean and essentially limitless.

As long as you have easy access to Saturn and the capability to both harvest large quantities of Helium-3 from its atmosphere (have fun getting a sizeable enough mass ratio that you're getting more than you use to get there and a Delta-V that is economically viable) and transport it home, then somehow get that Helium down Earth's gravity well and into your magitech He3-D fusion reactor.

Or the alternative, mining over 1million tonnes of lunar regolith for one measly tonne of useable Helium3. Harvesting it on Earth would be easier and cheaper.

Fusion is a long way off, and affordable fusion is pretty much fiction for now. Holding out for it won't do you much good.

It's fusion or bust.

Looks like we're going for bust then. Getting a fusion reaction to put out more energy than it takes to get going and then making that sustainable is almost certainly not happening within our lifetime.

-BBC via phone
-Independent or Guardian newspaper, occasionally.
-Channel 4 news at 7
-RT, whenever my Hun housemate shows me something from there "to get the bullshit from the other side"

Channel 4 has a news program?

the "only" major thing to be affected by this is that a bunch of launches are now gonna haveto be delayed while everything is inspected and the launch pad is repaired. Thankfully there's another launch pad for them to use so nothing should be outright cancelled unless they find serious faults in other stuff. Accidents happen.

Thank god I don't live in either of those countries. But then again. Europe is more fucked than the US is with the refugees. At least I'm behind a buffer in a 99% white nation.

don't worry brexit got rid of all the refugees

The armored train is just too much fun. My team was down by nearly 100 points and I was conducting the train. We had a full party of people in and we nearly came back and won the match after we took all the points along the rail. I'm looking forward to other things like this on the other maps in the full game.

The flak AA gun on the train is so much fun to use.

I adore the landship. 27 kill streak pls

Elsewise, the Automatico M1907 or whatever it is is my favourite weapon in the game. Capable at longer ranges but still good for CQC. I'm liking my medic class.

Now I've got gud I'm really enjoying this game. Looking forward to release.

Serious / Re: Why is Globalism bad?
« on: September 02, 2016, 02:09:00 AM »
Humanity hasn't grown out of tribalism yet. For a globalist society to exist, we need to ditch the idea of our tribes
This is precisely wrong.

Tribalism will be the only thing keeping humanity unified by the time it becomes a spacefaring species.

The concept itself has to be discarded. Otherwise we'll start shooting the second we make first contact.

Ladies and gentlemen, a créme de la créme example of the slippery slope fallacy.

No, we won't. Why? Because aliens aren't human. The concept of tribalism doesn't apply.

Look at nearly EVERY example of fiction we have. If we can't see that we have no tribe, then it's nearly always us vs them.

Where did this very forum come from?

A little game called Halo. Which it the quintessential us vs them story

Yeah but in Halo it was aliens that shot first because they were religious nutjobs. Bad example for your point.

The rocket didn't fail, the explosion was three minutes before firing. The idea being circulated is that, because SpaceX was fuelling the booster, it was likely afault in the refuelling systems.

I think I'm gonna do my next FO4 playthrough (now that all DLC is out) as a fat nerd who wants to be a vigilante so he takes up the mantle of the shroud, as NW has shroud dialogue options.

Use the vault 88 place as a batcave.

Name a single reason an individual would seek a state of enlightenment.

Because we told him to seek it and he actually did it the MADMAN

Played my first match as assault. Died a few times, then got gud and managed to get a few kills with the MP-18. UI is clunky but I liked being able to turn everything on rather than just context stuff.

MGs are shit (again) but aside from that its pretty fun.

Oh and then the servers died or something because I tried to go into pause menu to adjust my tank controls, the game froze, my xbox wouldn't respond then the game crashed and now I get unknown errors when trying to connect. So back to Fallout for the time being.

I like the 'power ups'

The elite classes look really fun. Wanna try out the flamethrower guy.

I'm still downloading NW so I wouldn't be surprised if I don't get to play until tomorrow.

I just read what gets posted here occasionally and watch bbc news while I'm eating my cereal in a morning.

That's about it. I don't really stay up to date on a lot of stuff.

Haven't watched the video but imagining a really welsh guy saying stuff like "They've taken objective Apples" is nothing short of hilarious.

Premium is probably worth a purchase too if you get the chance [well, dependant on if you're getting BF1]. You can still find servers running dlc maps.

Also, there are three free map dlcs; night, communuty and legacy operations. They add 3 new maps and are completely free.

Oh I stopped playing Oblivion because of the god awful character faces. Waaaay too distracting.

Morrowind was fine because of when it came out, but Oblivion just looked like shit.
Mods really help it, but back in 2006 I didn't think it was bad. Now, omg.

Even for 2006 it looked pretty shit.

Though I do intend to play through it with some QOL mods when I get my PC. I reeaally want to play through it.
