You guys think the hype for this game is going to fall faster than the titans, just like what happened with the first game?

there's hype for this game?

Titanfall 1 was generally praised for its gameplay but had no singleplayer and very little longevity in the multiplayer. As such,it gained a small but very hardcore following who consistently play(ed) it two years after release.

Titanfall 2 was announced and interest was surged, but the interest died when the beta dropped and they made some very significant changes to the formula. However, Respawn have been very clear on listening to community feedback and a fuck ton of footage (including a singleplayer campaign) has revived a lot of interest that was killed in the beta. Unfortunately, I fear the damage has been done by clickbait articles with titles like DAE TITANFALL 2 IS GARBAGE????!!!?!?! that once again, it will be a niche game that retains a hardcore following but no widespread appeal.

Especially with the likes of the Battlefield hype train and the Modern Warfare Remastered hype train to compete with.

i have a feeling that the beta killed the game before launch, people like me who aren't actively following the games development are the majority and will not know about the changes made since the beta

Pretty much. It's sad because the game post-feedback is looking fantastic, but it's likely too late for those who lost interest.

But this is a goofy thing to argue over, the word used to describe what my body looks like to most people isn't all that important.
you're right, it was jacked

it's still not a word i'd use to describe anyone other than bodybuilders, and people have a tendency of saying nicer things than they really mean to people they know--it's just how social interaction works, and you should have a mental filter that clears out these exaggeratory remarks

it's important because it affects how you view yourself, and unless you're someone who's comfortable with having a false image of yourself, i would take care to weigh the compliments you receive against some objectivity

either way, it seems people always need to be taken down a notch no matter what they do
Going to the gym to pump some iron + eat properly + sleep = bodybuilding

I don''t 100% remember Winy's appearance, but wasn't he fairly big in comparison to a nonlifter?

For you.

« on: October 01, 2016, 05:14:46 AM »
Can someone give me the rundown about this, though? What does this mean for Earth and humans? How much longer do we have?

Also, this seems pretty catastrophic, I don't know why it's not being reported everywhere on the news.

Because in the immediate short term, nothing changes. Effects of climate change are gradual, not immediate. Increased temperature here, a flood there. It's not going to trigger an immediate apocalypse, and the likely scenario is that the effects will only be immediately visible when comparing now and then.

400ppm is basically the point of no return, where the effects generated are irreversable. In the long run it's just a number with no particular consequence.

If the media were reporting on it, all that would result is hysteria for a day and apocalypse predictions by idiots then everyone forgets about it once it ceases to be relevant.

Metro Redux is pretty fun, and the QOL changes to 2033 brought over from LL are fantastic. Seeing as though you mentioned it.

Alien Isolation is fantastic if you like Alien. It's pretty much exactly what an Alien game should be - sitting in a fantastically rendered 80's scifi cupboard and crying while a bananahead is stalking you. No colonial marines shooty nonsense.

Wolfenstein TNO is also a fantastic shooter if you want to kill nazis. Some surprisingly deep storytelling, fantastic gameplay and level design and a mission where you fight nazis on the moon.
Yeah, Metro Redux is shaping up to be a top contender. I already beat Wolfenstein TNO and even though it's far from the brilliance that is Enemy Territory, it was still a good game.

Hadn't really considered Alien Isolation yet. It looks good, but all of the gameplay I've seen looks incredibly repetitive. Press button, hide from Alien, run away to safety, hide from Alien, repeat. But then again, it is quite cheap these days...

I got a new copy of Ripley edition for £10. Honestly, the incredible graphical fidelity, lighting effects and attention to detail by Creative Assembly to make everything look and feel like part of the Alien universe make it worth it simply for the experience. The game looks and sounds like a true sequel to Alien. I absolutely love it.

Anyone watching it? I'm on Episode 4 and I'm really enjoying it.

I don't think it's as good (yet) as Jessica Jones or Daredevil S1, but I'd say it's definitely on par with Daredevil S2.

Honestly? Climate change will suck balls, but I don't think we'll actually go extinct from it. TBH, with the scientific boom we're going through right now, chances are we'll just be able to genetically modify ourselves to have gills by the time shit starts getting really bad. Personally, I think that the 21st century will see the fall of democracy. If the US is the SPQR, then this will be the century it goes full Roman Empire, which in modern terms I would assume equivocates to National Socialism. This is a very scary thought. Sure, we all like to meme about "muh hitler did nothing wrong", but it's all fun and games until these people get actual power and the Gestapo comes knocking at your door.

Is it still COD with mech killstreaks or is it Titanfall again?

Looking more like the latter each day.

« on: September 29, 2016, 06:02:50 AM »
Reach. Started the downfall of Halo.

You can't be serious. At worst, Reach was merely mediocre. It was a product which had minimal bugs, a complete experience and kept a lot of people playing years after launch.

I'm confused how that can qualify when you have games which were outright lies, completely broken, and didn't retain any playerbase.

Hell, I despise Halo 5 and EA Battlefront but those games are far from the worst products released in the past decade.

Gotta admit, I wasn't all too pumped after the Tech Test, but the way the game has changed in response to feedback has certainly got me a lot more excited.

For anyone that lost interest with the Test, I'd highly recommend having a look at the footage that popped up all this week by a bunch of youtubers and Respawn from a fuller PC build of the game. With the addition of the Ronin, Legion, Tone and Northstar Titans, the maps look to flow a lot better.

I'll post some links later, but off the top of my head the major changes thus far that have bedn fixed are:

-Wallrunning and movement has been sped up
-The orange outline on enemy Pilots is a lot dimmer
-Attrition returns! Also AI bots are around like they were in the original
-6 factions to choose. 3 militia (6-4, Angel City Elite and Maurauder Corps) and 3 IMC (Vinson Dynamics, Apex Predators and Ares Division)
-Titan eject height is now as it was in the original
-Smart Pistol is one of those temporary powerup not-killstreak things with only two magazines. No more loadout weapon.
-Lots of customisation for each pilot, weapon and Titan model. Camouflages, War Paints and so forth for all of them.
-A bunch of pilot abilities not seen in the Test look cool too.

If you were interested in Titanfall or Titanfall 2 before the test, I'd have another look now. Respawn have definitely listened to the feedback on the test (I'll put some links below for the lazy when I get on a computer).
