Gaming / Re: Titanfall 2
« on: January 19, 2017, 03:24:46 AM »
Anyway, I've been experimenting with stupid loadouts recently. I've discovered the Softball, P2016, Flatline and Spitfire are all pretty fun to use.

Sure, they're not as good or efficient as the EVA or CAR, but goddamn I'm having fun jumping off the walls and sticky grenading people in the face. It's alot more fun and challenging than meta crap.

Any tips for beginners -- loadout, techniques, which titan, etc? I'm normally pretty competent in shooters but I fucking suck at this game.

FrothyOmen's YT channel has a bunch of really good guides for movement, weapons and titans as well as a tier list for best loadout options.

EVA-8, CAR, Volt, Hemlok, Devotion, G2A5 and Alternator are your best bets for primary weapon.

Also, crouch while in mid air and you'll insta-slide upon hitting the floor and retain your momentum.

Gaming / Re: What's the best Halo game?
« on: January 18, 2017, 03:20:36 PM »
I had the most good times in Reach. Best forge and customs experience (Halo 5 might have better options but it took too long to get them and now customs are dead), best art style, invasion, best campaign (from a gameplay perspective, story was unremarkable), good firefight customisability and good theatre. I also really like the OST.

That's not to say I don't have gripes. Notice I barely mentioned the matchmaking side of things. I do think Halo 3 had a better multiplayer  experience in MM, but Halo Reach just feels better as a complete package.

« on: January 15, 2017, 04:42:31 PM »
I've yet to start this series, is it worth it?

Episode 1 is pretty meh and one of the worst in the series as a whole. Second one is alright and the third one is pretty good.

There's not too much in the way of mystery solving though, it's closer to S3 than S1/2. It's still enjoyable enough to watch though.

I'm not too keen on the james bond direction they're going with. They're still enjoyable to watch but S4 is definitely the worst season thus far.

It's actually just an umbrella term for any young person you don't like. Kids will be called millennials for the next few decades.
But that's not true at all, you retard.

Shut up millennial

Rogue One is a clear favourite for me, because it's a lot grittier and a lot more focused on the war than the force. Same reason why The Clone Wars' last few seasons I love so much.

Probably put Revenge in second, with Empire and ANH about equal, then ROTJ, then Menace, then Clones. Force Awakens at the bottom because all the ideas it has are the previous films but done worse, and the characters just don't make sense.

Oh, and that Clone Wars animated film. Clearly the best of all.

McDonald's in the UK: underclass 13 year old spiceboys that can't afford a Nandos with their fiver a week pocket money and so come to McDonalds to start shit with the cashiers and generally act like a bunch of prepubescent bellends.

It's spice boy a play on the spice girls?
no

Spiceboys are a curious breed of chavs or working class jocks (for you ameriburgers) that have exploded in the past couple years particularly in the UK. Not sure if it's a thing in the US, but they tend to have fuck off blonde quiffs, running trainers and rolled up skinny jeans. They generally act like annoying pricks, especially in groups and have a tendency of frequenting fast food chains with their bennies.

I was more talking about the name. Where does spice boy come from?
They have a stereotype of frequenting a chicken restaurant called Nandos which usually serves spiced chicken.

Kind of a dumb stereotype but I shit you not it's really fucking accurate.

Come to think of it, I've never been to nandos. I walk past one pretty regularly, too.

Seems like development went down the shitter. Can't say I really care about some generic weebshit game but it seems like microsoft's game studio division is just getting crappier and crappier all the time. Seems like 2017 is the year I don't buy any games aside from the backlog of steam games I've missed because I didn't have a PC.

I really liked SS, what the fuck people? Are you just jumping on the popular opinion train? Is there anyone here who actually liked it?

-shit villain
-shit acting by almost everyone involved
-no real plot
-inonsistent tone
-katana, joker, slipknot are completely pointless and don't serve any purpose in the story. boomerang guy also to an extent
-where are the flash, wonder woman and batman in this WORLD ENDING EVENT? why was a bunch of criminals the first and only option they had?
-method of killing the villain was super weak
-yet another blue beam shooting into the sky

I mean, I enjoyed MoS and BvS despite their flaws and I can at least find Iron Man 2/ 3/ the Thor films watchable. But Suicide Squad was just bad on all fronts. Like, Spider Man 3 tier awful.

The Flood / Re: I loved the new Ghostbusters tbh
« on: January 09, 2017, 06:06:58 AM »
I honestly don't get the point of it. I don't think anyone, even the fans of ghostbusters, was asking for a sequel or a reboot. The ones that were probably wanted a film that was actually trying to be good rather than just pandering.

Fair play to them though, they managed to make a film that had literally zero option other than be praised. Either everyone likes it and it's a universal symbol of tolerance and all that bullshit or everyone says it sucks and then gets accused of disliking it because of the same shit. That's some nice 3D chess the filmmakers had going, there.

Weird how national geographic has more history than the history channel

It's as though finding intact WW2 vehicles and weapons that aren't in a museum or collection and then getting permission to get them dirty and destroyed is kind of hard to do.

For most viewers, a gun is a gun and a tank is a tank. It's considerably more expensive to get ahold of WW2 equipment (Or make replicas) when the vast majority of people don't honestly care in the first place.

Though, granted, these are a lot more egregious than what you usually get. Documentary channels have been going downhill for a while now.
