Are there any good spacekino animemes? Particularly of the hard scifi angle
Capital ships slugging it out, power armoured space marines fighting off hordes of xeno scum, giant robots fighting tanks and so forth really gets my neurons firing Gundam mecha shit need not apply 1176

I don't really keep contact with anyone I knew in secondary or sixth form. Aside from my small group of friends I'd play chess or cards with in the library, and even most of them I haven't spoken to in over a year.
Maybe I'm that guy. 1178

In what ways does it perform bad?
I'm putting off finishing my trilogy playthrough (I'm at Priority: Thessia and I just don't want to) but I'm planning on playing Andromemes once I'm done (gamesharing = free game). I'm interested if there's anything worth noting before starting. 1180

Gaming / Re: Battlefront 2 leaked« on: April 12, 2017, 03:44:52 AM »tbh I actually wish the first EA Battlefront was more Battlefield than arcade. A reskin of BF4 with hero classes added would have been basically perfect. 1188
Gaming / Re: Battlefront 2 leaked« on: April 12, 2017, 01:44:44 AM »This meme that Disney/EA hates the CW era needs to end. >immediately cancel TCW seasons 6,7 and 8 >first battlefront game has no clone wars >refuse to speak of the prequels or produce any TCW-era content for a number of years Man, I wonder why people would think that. 1189
Gaming / Re: Battlefront 2 leaked« on: April 12, 2017, 01:18:07 AM »
I see we're still pandering to OTfags and shilling the sequel trilogy with the marketing.
Hopefully they'll show off more Clone Wars content soon. 1190
The Flood / Re: should i rewatch breaking bad« on: April 11, 2017, 05:52:26 PM »
I've watched it twice. I'd say it's worth it but at the same time you could always watch something new.
I personally recommend The Expanse if you like scifi. It's easily my favourite show on netflix right now. I'm currently reading the books, too. 1191

Gaming / Re: Xbox Spring sale. Recommend games please.« on: April 11, 2017, 10:22:47 AM »
There's a reason ME: Catalyst was on sale 50% off less than six months after launch.
It's a pretty game but a downgrade of the original in every other way. 1193
Gaming / Re: Crafting systems pls go« on: April 09, 2017, 08:11:23 AM »i don't understand this complaint at all tbh The majority of crafting systems feel tacked on to fill a checklist than a natural part of the game. It makes sense in say, Far Cry as they focus on survival amd whatnot, but a lot of games have them that don't feel necessary in any way. 1194

Gaming / Re: Fallout 4 is based« on: April 08, 2017, 03:00:12 AM »
I feel hard-pressed to call Fo4 a bad game when at last check I had 36 days of playtime in it, most of that in the first six months of launch.

There's a bunch of people who Sandtrap was in regular PMs with. Myself, I used to talk a lot both through messages here and on XBL before he stopped being able to go on voice chat. Combine with not posting here much now anyway and I never said much in public view. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same for a lot of people. Hell, my friend who doesn't really forum much and only new sandtrap through XBL parties I was in (we used to play halo a lot together back in 2015/ early 2016) even came back on here to say something. 1198

Serious / Re: event horizon telescope is online and operational« on: April 06, 2017, 03:58:43 AM »Wow really? But I mean... how do you take a picture of something that has no light to it? A lot of telescopes also look out for different frequencies of light - gamma, xray, infrared etc. Plus, in terms of visuals, you'd be able to see a black hole due to gravitational lensing - the pull of gravity around one is so strong it physically affects and warps space. As such, if you were to fly past one you'd see the light behind it (so, dust clouds, stars, etc in the distance) warping and changing as it bends to go around the event horizon. Also, Black Holes that are actively "feeding" will have rings around them (like Gargantua in Interstellar). These rings are dust, particles, matter, gas and so forth that fornerly made up all kinds of objects being ripped apart and accelerated to relavtavistic velocities. As the dust hits other bits of dust, a lot of friction is generated and thus a fuck ton of heat and light. Good gravitational lensing video below. YouTube However, from the distance we are to Sag A*, there's simply too much dust, light and distance to really get a good picture of the gravitational lensing. The best we get is looking at radiation emitted and the orbits of stars around the galactic core. |
