He gets assigned as an escort but she ends up liking him because he keeps secrets and later in the war they have a kid who is Miranda in H2 and 3.

And it was one of the greatest things I ever read. Reminds me of a classic Star Trek episode.
The 2010 reprint is even better as the adjuncts talk about a bunch of plot ideas central to later stories- Petra, Lasky and their ties to Escalation are a prominent one.

I'll read first strike after I'm done with fall of reach, also I heard that the flood is meh so idk.
The flood will answer any questions you had about CE- in terms of where your supplies and troops were coming from. It also has the perspective of Zuka 'Zamamee, talked with hunting down John across the ring and the perspective of Jenkins after he is infected. The last one is kinda creepy, when you read it. But I fuckin' loved the book, and I'm glad someone took the time to think 'Hold on. What's happening between all these missions Chief is going on?' It also describes the game's environments and encounters accurately, which is pretty cool. Also, perspective of one of the hunters that chief fights.

I don't get what is so bad about getting a fizzy drink.
They're are water cups. Meant for water ONLY. The store loses money from cheap fucks, thousands every year. And it's fucking annoying. There's a gas station where larger sodas are less than a dollar.
Do you not just order them from the counter?
