What frightens you?
Trust.
Like trusting others in face to face interactions?
Just trusting someone in general..
Lately I've tried acknowledging what exists, feeling-wise. Just sitting with the discomfort and not trying to avoid or exacerbate it has made me realize new things about the emotions I experience. Breathing tends to help me think about these things too, as does meditation. Trying to process why these things affects me is also useful, but this all works for me. I don't know how you usually de-stress.

Is this type of weaponry really necessary?
Well it does cost a $1 to fire it, so there's some cost efficiency when compared to conventional explosives
And how much did it cost to invent, test, and build?
An $11 million contract was made to develop the product
I can think of better uses for $11 million (Which, is likely underreported).
Possibly, but this innovation that's not only creating new jobs but new technologies.
And $11 million could be put towards fixing basic infrastructure in America, something that is desperately needed and actually has an impact on our daily lives.
People were opposed to the military investing in aircraft, but look how it has transformed society
Aircraft in the Military has led to improvements in civilian aviation as well.
A laser weapon will not.
They might have applications in medical fields, like surgery. lasers are used today to make incisions, and with the precision tech used to track objects in the military, we might get closer to more prolific laser surgeries, things doctors may be incapable of doing or that in poorer countries don't have skilled staff for. There are possible civilian uses.

Living for eternity is definitely possible, but you would still be mortal. That's true. I don't know enough about research in regeneration to make estimates in comparison to gerontology research, but my mind has gerontology research coming first, then pursuing age reversal and regeneration later. If I can get around to living a long time (if not forever) I can work from there.

You have the advantage of a lightspeed weapon, accuracy in targeting, and the potential for a lot of destruction. The first model of anything is usually expensive, especially considering it's new technology and it isn't mass produced. Your questions are still important to consider... Hold on a bit
Edit: nvm, someone else found the answer

Patent, Mass produce slightly less potent pills that would only slow ageing to a point, enforce a full population control system, and sell prolonged ageing pills for both profit and for immortality... sell full immortality in exchange for all assets and money that that person owns as a trade off. you have to commit to the choice if you wish for infinite life and infinite experiences. you also gain an "immortal status" on your records that allows full, and free travel universally, along with 3-4 star accommodations, but you cannot get a job or own any property while you are of this status
One of the strangest things about this post is that if I ever achieved immortality, I'd leave society and essentially abide by all of these regulations, even though I don't necessarily agree with their enforcement. What would the penalty be for violations?

Are there any side effects besides biological immortality?
Immortality in this sense achieves the halt of aging, not regeneration, not reversing of aging. Let's assume at the age you are currently or five years from now.

really though we've had laser weapons for a while now
the reds designed a laser pistol for cosmonauts during the 80s
That's awesome. Definitely looking into this
it was designed to take out optical equipment on enemy spacecraft, but i imagine it was capable of harming humans
I was trying to find the caliber laser used... But considering the efficiency of power focus back then I'm not sure if they'd be able to harm other satellites (it's probably under 20%).

What I'd like to make at some point is a laser pistol, something around 5-7 watts or higher if it's manageable. The model would be built in something like a nintendo zapper so I could carry it around... Within reason. Just be that person with a laser gun. They're good for taking out security cameras, I imagine.

I'd recommend one of two options, either playing Dark Souls for the atmosphere, or playing another game. If you're not enjoying the experience and it feels trivial you might be better off not playing it.

22. Gosh I feel so young
This time two years I'll be 22. But lets just focus on the near future, never know what'll happen between then and now.
I'll be 30 and I want you guys to be older before I go chakas level. Stop trying to give me advice all the time, byrne! How would you like it if some 12 year old tried to give you advice?
If it was good advice I'd most likely appreciate it. Assuming I got over my ageism :\
and if it were very obvious advice? I'm pretty sure anyone gets a tad antsy being told the obvious, for example, the sky is blue, and haven't you checked lately?
If it's obvious to the point I can recognize it myself at that moment then it's unnecessary and patronizing, and I can sympathize with anger at that. When people spout trite things and think they're better than me I tend to let them continue their ways and leave. But sometimes I forget the obvious things...

The number "0.9999..." can be "expanded" as:
0.9999... = 0.9 + 0.09 + 0.009 + 0.0009 + ...
In other words, each term in this endless summation will have a "9" preceded by some number of zeroes. This may also be written as:
0.999... = 9/10 + (9/10)(1/10)^1 + (9/10)(1/10)^2 + (9/10)(1/10)^3 + ...
That is, this is an infinite geometric series with first term a = 9/10 and common ratio r = 1/10. Since the size of the common ratio r is less than 1, we can use the infinite-sum formula to find the value:
0.999... = (9/10)[1/(1 - 1/10)] = (9/10)(10/9) = 1
So the formula proves that 0.9999... = 1.

I only played Much's Oddysee (it's actually spelled this way). How does this game compare?
Very differently. The first 2 oddworld games are platformers.
I might investigate

Somewhat. The world feels hazy, but I'm still aware of who I am (so I don't have it). I question if other people are real, they all seem like stuffed animals walking around. It almost feels as if I have a constant head rush.

Acknowledge that thing making you angry. Feel angry about it. Then identify what's making you angry and why. Then, breathe. Breathe big breaths and let it fade.
Due to the nature of this image I'm uncertain whether this is genuine.
