Assuming all humans are derived from a divine image, the thing most analogous to all humans would be a simplistic looking creature we'd identify as human. It would have a face, arms, legs, etc.
Basically, if we narrow down human traits to generality which is reflected in all humans, we get a caricature-esque figure. There would be absence of defining characteristics we could attribute to genetic difference (though the human genome as a whole is pretty uniform).

Good luck. In my experience, the planning is a bitch.
You rush your ideas and you'll end up with some run-of-the-mill book like everything else that gets written. Shelves everywhere are full of the same thing wearing different costumes.
I can't write without painstaking plans layed out. I've been planning for my story for two years (albeit on and off) and I'm still not close to having a finished plan.
I think my subject matter is unique enough.
