Hunter x Hunter

Just watch all of the episodes in one go
The funny thing is this idea for marathoning an entire enime came from my experience with HxH.
I spent five days doing little else but watching HxH. I finished it, too.

It's funny that there are more individuals that are willing to toss together well made images of the Arbiter wanking over this type of research.
If we all put our efforts completely out of porn I think we'd scare ourselves with how far ahead we'd be as civilizations.

Zankyou no Terror was pretty decent, I think it's around 12 episodes.
I really enjoyed the first four episodes of the show, after 5 (hue) the show declined for me, though it wasn't bad

Last Exile
This looks really cool. I'll run it by my friend.

It's a bit slower paced than the average anime and takes it's time building the story, so for people who aren't into that they might get bored. Still only 24 episodes if I recall correctly though.
Personally I love slow-paced things. The first episode of Fate/Zero everyone else seems to hate? I loved it. That was the thing that got me hooked into watching the anime

I get that with most shorter shows unfortunately.  They start strong and kinda taper off a bit, I try to avoid them anymore after I finished Noragami.

I guess another one would be Samurai Flamenco at 22 episodes.  It's... interesting.

I've heard about Samurai Flamenco a lot, never even really investigated it at all.

You know, Kyoukai no Kanata was not bad. I really liked it, and it's a twelver.

Stealing anal virginity.

If you're really that dissatisfied with your life that you want to go to a convention and pretend to be someone else, you might as well kill yourself

You're already dead inside
LARPing isn't necessarily done at conventions, but yes the entire point of a Role Playing Game is to take on a different persona.

I mean
That's cool if you wanna pretend to be Wolverine and go around smashing shit every once in a while

But if you take the time to craft a persona with costumes and shit, that's weird
I've never really considered it odd to adopt new mannerisms when a situation asks for it, but that's a different situation than RPing in a conventional way. The only RPing I've done is in D&D campaigns. Perhaps that still makes me weird in your eyes.
I can see where you're coming from, though

But it's a situation you yourself create to out of some mental dissatisfaction with your own life
This assumption is incorrect.
There's utility in using different personas to get what you want.

Well there has to be some mental dissonance if you derive pleasure from escaping your life and entering someone else's

And I'm talking about LARPing

Board games and video games are different because you're placing yourself in a situation to see what you would do or exploring what a character would do in that situation
Whereas LARPing is trying to become someone else

At least that's how I see it
I do not LARP. My friends and I have whacked each other with foam weapons, but no campaigning was involved.
The notion that people can explore a character in a videogame and be 'normal' yet not do the same in reality without suddenly becoming 'abnormal' makes no sense to me. They're both exercises in escapism and promote a space where you dissociate from your regular life.

Usually pleasure has nothing to do with adopting new mannerisms or behavior, it's something I decide to do by necessity. The entire idea of "entering someone else's life" does not apply here either. I just emulate characteristics I think will be effective in a particular situation. Rather than promoting escapism I'm trying to find effective ways to deal with real situations.

Why would you do that to yourself? Do you not know how exasperating it is to go to sleep, come back the next day, and see the same threads as yesterday with only a couple more replies or none at all?
Yeah, it's pretty boring.
That's when I usually fish for an interesting thread to necro.

What is your avatar?

It's a kitsune.

IDK I found it on the internets it was someone's original art and I swiped it.
Looks like a mix with the protagonist from Drakengard 3

Black Lagoon gets pretty heavy at times, it's entertaining but there's a couple of arcs I'd recommend skipping rather than watching with a frand.

Nothing wrong with incestuous loli and shota snuff films.
That entire sentence is wrong.

Jormungand
Black Lagoon
These both have sadistic women in them, yes?
um

rude

Jormungand -> more just straight up crazy, shooty shooty blow things up lady

Black Lagoon -> couple of characters could be described as such, but i'd say there is a bit more to them than just ayylmao suffering
Hmm... I think my friend might like Jormungand more...
Thanks ^_^

My friend and I are going to watch anime all day tomorrow.
I need some suggestions for shows that aren't longer than 25 eps.

12 ep length is ideal

I'll update the OP with things I've seen when people mention them.

Thanks in advance.

Things either I or my friend has already seen:

The Devil is a part-timer
Baccano!
FLCL (though I saw it around 4 years ago, so we're considering it) (though we both love this one)
Psycho Pass S1 and 2
One Punch Man (and it's glorious)
Penguindrum
Samurai Champloo
Angel beats
Zankyou no Terror

Aaaaaaaand false alarm I suppose. My friend "has" to do something with their family today, so we apparently can't.
Guess today's more of a solo day.
We can still talk about anime though.

These are some of the things in the pile of 1st edition cards
