I can't touch 2D.
We have a problem.

We aren't 2D tho
Well, I am known to crack a cold one open routinely. Let's experiment for science.

But this was a better boss fight.

Also, I never knew there was another energy tank there.

The Flood / Re: Does anybody here play a Musical Instrument?
« on: July 30, 2015, 03:10:10 PM »
Currently I'm not doing anything with music (besides singing to myself).
I've played the Ocarina, Clarinet, and Alto Saxophone.
I have the most experience with the Clarinet (8 years). I don't like playing it anymore.
I think I've had the most fun with the Ocarina (a triple Ocarina, concert pitch). I really liked the Alto, too.

And technically, the recorder. But everyone plays the recorder at some point... right?

Even if ''interesting'' conversation occurs here, it's avoided unless it's a hot button topic. We know where that can go.
People who feel this forum needs more substance should act on that. Complaint gets people's attention, but backing that  with effort leads towards results.
And if they want people to acknowledge their posts to generate more meaningful conversation that's a mutual process. Other people have to invest in it too.

The Flood / Re: HELP ME CHOOSE A MOVIE
« on: July 29, 2015, 08:14:03 PM »
None are on Netflix so I guess I'll just have buy physical copies.
I have a solution for that.
You can find most (if not all) of the Ghibli movies here.
There are a lot, around 20 I think.
Some of them are really weird, and I just plain don't like some of them (Porco Grosso), but overall they make my favorite movies.
That Satoshi Kon's also got interesting stuff, but it's more "mature" and psychological than ghibli films. You can also find those there.

How about Shawshank?
Or Princess Mononoke?

>i have never watched either of those films
I recommend both. A lot.
Shawshank's just... I don't even know how to explain it. I'd have to rewatch it to do so.
Princess Mononoke's my favorite Ghibli film (though I watched Castle in the Sky and it made me question my Ghibli film rankings). I can see how Spirited Away is the classic, but Mononoke just feels more... epic.

Directly interacting with a personified Oedipus complex.
That's some next level shit.
Spoiler
You know, I feel bad for Oedipus, he unintentionally borked his birther, and he's ascribed an intentional complex. That's like insalt on injuries.

Also :56 for the suggestion :^)

No cus it's just the fantasy I'm interested in. If my mom was Vera Farmiga I would want to fuck her, but she's not so I don't.
Oh, I understand now (I think).
That makes sense.

Wait a minute, why do you need a gf when you have your mother?
I don't wanna fuck my mom I just want to pretend I am fucking my mom.
Wtf man, that's like having your cake and not eating it too.

No it isn't you butthole

who?
A hentai for pedophiles

Fixed
As if.

The girls have some boobs.
Kind of begs the question, "is the loli aesthetic pedophilic?"  Though they may be of age canonically, is that really a justifiable excuse for people masturbating to what appear to be developed children?
Does that make it even worse?

Their positions should be reversed.

It's an effective way to make money apparently, and that's noteworthy. I'm uncertain how the mechanics work to keep people invested and addicted, and I think it's something gamers should understand, because success breeds imitation. The affects of addiction in video games should be taken more seriously as potential threats to fiscal responsibility. If that threat is assessed and minimized by legal action, gamers should be part of the process.
This in particular caught my attention, though

Quote
I... came across a guy who must have spent at least 7,000 Euros. He wasn't around to defend himself, so we attacked. We wiped out about 2,500 Euros. Two-and-a-half grand, gone in five minutes.
I know you can't get your money back after making a transaction an receiving the in-game assets, but I legitimately wonder if that gives anyone empathetic pause and raises moral questions about what they're playing and who's benefiting from it.
If it does then the nature of that addiction has interesting social ramifications.

i blame the weirdos who eat up the 10000000 sameplot slice of life shows and moe/yuri shit
I think it's cyclic from a studio-viewer perspective, with a lot of responsibility on a viewer-base that doesn't recognize its own influence. Studios make shallow content to stay afloat and consumers indulge it, but consumers don't consider things from a business perspective and fund the projects that would take more monetary assets to make better quality shows. That's why I think Kickstarter's a good choice to bring high budget works that wouldn't otherwise be approved.
I'm not even aware of the conditions in the industry, but from the few articles I've read online, everyone on a project who makes recognizable aspects of a show aren't even compensated enough to sustain themselves.

Viewers have responsibility I don't think enough of us understand, and certainly not people who indulge shallowness in their anime. That being said, I have a lot more understanding to do and investments to make to manifest anime I enjoy.
Does that make us anime elitists?

Can you see post number on mobile?
i don't know

the way i check is to just quote the post i'm checking, and in the url, the first long number after "action=post;quote=" is gonna be the post number

maybe there's a more intuitive way
On PC I just hover over the time signature on the bottom left part of a post and it shows up on the bottom of the window screen.

That my toys come to life when I'm not home.
I always thought how depressing it would be if my toys were more lively when I wasn't around.
I mean, it's not like they have to hide it. No one else would believe me if I spilled the beans anyway.
