The Flood / Synonymous Users
« on: October 13, 2015, 01:06:50 AM »
Which users do you mistake for each other?
Which users are pretty much the same people?

Maybe I just don't know Pip well, but I always think about Naoto when I see their username.

The Flood / What Was The First Forum You Participated In?
« on: August 15, 2015, 12:34:27 PM »
What did you do there?
How was it different socially?

I was obsessed with the release of Skyrim before launch, so not only did I join a forum, I wrote fanfic for the site.
Reading those back over now is unsettling, but those early memories are some of my best forum experiences.
Since I was one of the first few to join I was considered one of the old guard after a while and given an honorary title for looking into Dwemer history.
That... is just inconsequential to like everything now and was pretty much a waste of time

The Skyrim Guild was primarily focused on game related topics, and moderation was stricter. Everyone was fairly polite.

In any sense you can think of.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Zonda and I are pretty similar in some way (but I haven't figured out how quite yet).
I'm pretty similar to that FunTimer guy...
>.>

And it seems like SecondClass and Oss can agree on immorality in similar senses to me.

The Flood / Do You Ever Look Back Through Your Old Posts And...
« on: August 08, 2015, 09:02:03 PM »
Consider how much you've changed your posting habits over time?

I notice my earliest forum days filled with more thoughtful posts, and over time I've lowered the bar enough for a limbo player to have difficulty keeping their legs intact.
I also used lime green font and I'm not happy about that. Actually, when I started using orange text was when I started lowering my standards and not being as polite.
Puts things in perspective...

Is there anything that strikes you about the "new you?" Is there anything you want to change?

Gollum from LoTR was literal nightmare fuel, especially this rendition of him.
YouTube

This movie, while being generally creepy and unsettling, had this scene with that hairy arachnid bastard and an owl from the Exorcist. Perfect.

In second grade one of the teachers had the bright idea to expose us to this "kids" book for our reading curriculum. They received dozens of parent complaints. I still hear that scratchy voice in my head on solitary nights years later.

What really grinds your gears?

When people opt out of reply mid-conversation (leave you hanging for all eternity).

Receiving notifications for people quoting me when I'm not even in the conversation anymore.

Quoting people and noticing spelling mistakes. I feel compelled to fix them.

Generally, when people make incognito 'funposts' ("Surprise, it's shit!")

I think it's this, but I had friends around to take the piss out of it, so it was actually a humorous experience overall.

The Flood / Which Shows Are You Watching and Which do You Recommend?
« on: August 07, 2015, 11:27:35 PM »
I'll segregate so it's easier to use your appropriate drinking fountains
Animated
Food Wars
Monster
Steven Universe: Season 2
Rick and Morty: Season 2

Recommend:
food porn- Food Wars
Detective Thriller- Monster
Humor: Rick and Morty (among so many other things. Rick and Morty is just brilliant).
Characterization and 'feels': Steven Universe

I also recently came off of From the New World and enjoyed it. If you like psychological/supernatural I'd give it a shot, though the animation style can be jarring at times.
Inanimate
In the Flesh
Black Mirror

Recommend: Both

The Flood / Flirting/Dating Flubs
« on: August 07, 2015, 05:24:56 PM »
In middle school my high-school group of friends and I dicked around at a local mall and made a tradition of asking girls out like the little sprouting dickweeds we were.

We went to Target once and I decided to ask out a very attractive girl because I was that guy and I liked making an ass of myself for laughs, so I approached her and her two friends walking in the store with a casual,
"Hey, I'm Epsira, wanna go out sometime?" I shook her hand and I must have had the hands of cupid, because she said yes.
I then mentioned the dare, which was apparently the wrong thing to do (though I only saw why in hindsight) because I received a slap alongside a "Never speak to me again."

My friends didn't stop laughing about that for the rest of that week.

I have the fastest dating record of everyone I know at 30 seconds.

You can do your own too.
I like it how if I post any video or long post Rick always looks at it like,
"Seriously?"

I also now read all of my posts in Rick's voice.

How many times have you tried leaving altogether?

Forever.

The Flood / Do Your Siblings do This?
« on: July 31, 2015, 05:41:52 PM »
So my sister broke up with her boyfriend this morning, apparently.
Now, mere hours later, there's some stranger named Jacob in my house, and I can hear the coitus.
And they know I can.

Discuss things your siblings do that bewilders you.

The Flood / Would You Have Sex With Your Avatar?
« on: July 28, 2015, 06:51:06 PM »
This thread's probably been done before, but I don't recall ever seeing it, so here's another.

How nasty would it get?

I would wreck Dirk Strider, head or no head.
It would probably be really tame sex, unless the robots got involved...

Spoiler
Jinx references, anyone?

« on: July 26, 2015, 09:55:53 PM »
I know I'm just dying to know this about all of you as much as you are about each other!

But wait, there's more!
You can answer such questions as:
Do you see who likes your posts (and wonder if you can exploit their habits for future ego boosting)?
Have you liked more people's posts than they've liked yours?
Does anyone love you Do your buddies like your posts more, or other less important users?
Would you take OP out to dinner (That's Voluptuous_Guydra@match.com)
and finally, how would you change the post rating system?

Answer any that seem relevant, and even ones that don't!

The Flood / Your Post Count is Now Your Lifespan... In Years
« on: June 12, 2015, 05:53:45 PM »
What do you do with it?

I'd still work on longevity research, but with longer intermittent periods of writing stories and studying other scientific disciplines.
I'd explore the world progressively, then head to space (if I extended my lifespan enough) and explore the universe.

You retain youth until the last 5% of your overall post count.

The Flood / That Sep7 User You Want to Know More About
« on: June 08, 2015, 03:58:00 PM »
I don't mean in a sexual sense, but more like a personality or life story sense.
Be as specific as you want.

oss reminds me of the personality I want to exhibit irl, and his personality just interests me.
Desty because I see him as someone I could modify my verbal structures with (and it would probably be fun).
Meta and Verb for complicated personal reasons

I'm always interested in learning about my forum chums (essentially the weebs and animals), but the users above have information directly applicable to myself. I'm a pretty self absorbed person, so I'm primarily concerned with my functioning first and foremost.

The Flood / FML Moments
« on: June 07, 2015, 03:46:14 PM »
My sister and her boyfriend live in different states. I'm still living with my family because dorms are full of disgusting, dithering fuckwhistles (mostly) and moreover, it's summer.
So he came to visit her today and they just got home.
The problem is, I wanted to leave before this happened.
I'm not interested in meeting other people (mostly), so I took refuge in my closet to avoid the inevitable introductions. Because no one was in my room, she must have assumed they were alone.
I also know my sister hasn't had sex in years (this is information I've overheard), so I knew what was coming (mind the fucking pun)

There are hyena squeals in my fucking house, and the walls are paper thin.
Now I have to sneak out of the house without them knowing, or they'll be fully aware that I overheard this disgusting, horrible ordeal.
Dammit.

It would be nice reading worse experiences, guys.

I was raised in part by a father who practiced "magick" and possessed a library of occult texts.

Amongst the weird things I experienced living there (and my time there was brief) the strangest was when he asked me to summon an Astral guardian. I didn't think much of the ritual as I carried it out because I didn't expect anything to happen.

We lived in a two story house; the day I assisted in the ritual we were both in the basement. It was then alarming hearing loud steps from the second floor, even more so when they seemed to creep their way down the steps to the basement, towards us.
The adults at that home occasionally played pranks on my siblings and I, which I would have gladly applied to the occurrence then. However, my father and I were alone in the house that day.

And to this day I wonder about it, but I couldn't gauge the veracity then and I still can't.

What about you guys?

Gaming / Playing Gaming Classics
« on: June 06, 2015, 06:03:58 PM »
Am I the only who feels like they're missing part of the classics appeal?
I've played other "current" games which employ mechanics from earlier games, so they're not new when I experience them. There's a difference between my experience "revisiting" them (in a sense) and someone freshly experiencing it from an earlier age... Of gaming.
There are times when I wonder how gaming hasn't advanced (usually in narrative themes or AI), but I find the scenarios and mechanics already emulated by other games.

What do you think?

I'm partial to the ones with awesome OP content, like "Cheerios"

Answers discussing site improvements are appreciated.

Conversation just... Isn't as interesting. Sure, I'd like to have more cathartic discussions with people that serve some function towards personal development, but that just doesn't really pan out online or offline.

The Flood / Internet Hypocrisy You Find Hilarious

People harping on the impersonal nature of the Internet, then reacting to something personally because it affects them.

>says don't take the Internet seriously
>Is butthurt, but only when it applies to their circumstances

The Flood / Sep7agon Seers
« on: April 07, 2015, 01:51:36 AM »
Let's make predictions about the direction or future actions of this site and its members.
This way we can weed out the seers and burn them like the witches they certainly are.

My first prediction:
Private groups, if introduced in lieu of anarchy, will lead to more localized instances of member conflict. The grudges will be longer lived, and Anarchy shall be reinstated to keep these belligerent members from clogging forum space or harassing the mods with forum drama.

Your turn ^_^

The Flood / Forts and Hidey Holes
« on: April 06, 2015, 12:59:36 PM »

What were your favorite places to hide or build "secret bases" as a kid?

There was a football toy chest I hid in once to avoid my father. Didn't work :(
My friend also had a bed with a tunnel and we'd sometimes set up a tv in it and watch Spongebob or play battlefront 2. Damn those were good times.

At the end of each school year I used to make forts under the dining room table, filled with books and drawings and small-scale furniture.
The last fort I made was in Freshman year of high school where I nailed blankets into our walls and made a massive tent for finals studying and friend sleepovers. It was a great way to start an awesome summer.

Nostalgia hits like a truck.
