Gaming / Re: Have shiny Pokemon lost their meaning?
« on: February 06, 2015, 10:53:28 AM »
Shiny Pokemon still have their meaning. They are rare Pokemon with minor color changes to their pallet. They are nice easter eggs and are still a commodity amount traders. Matsuda Method and other methods take hours and sometimes days to get even 1 Shiny Pokemon.

Shiny Charm is a decent motivator to complete the Pokedex and as such is a proper reward for collectors.

Some shinies have major changes to their pallet, such as Giratina.

Then we have Garchomp.

It would have a quite legitimate post until to the 'most advanced PETA vegans' part. The cow genocide bit made it a little too absurd.

Final verdict: 7.8/10
"Too much PETA"

Personal notion: Slight chance to become a copypasta.

tfw gravelord nito is a good guy

and you murdered him
And Sif :"(

When the hell is killing a dog a good thing?
it's not. You kill him to rob the grave of his best friend . It's awful

Why would you do that?!
For the greater good.

He does know you if you do the DLC however, and the intro scene to his fight changes if you helped him.
Actual spoilers for anyone interested in the story.

As long it's stable throughout the game it's all good.

Well, it won't actually phase me since I don't even own those consoles.

Did you really take this seriously?
How am I supposed to know? Some people genuinely believe the things you were replying with. I can't read your fucking mind.

Man, you must be the master ruseman. You sure showed me by...saying things that people actually think.
Maybe I am wrong but I think there's a point where it begins to be quite obvious.

The constant ad hominems, figuratively talking shit and my last comment about 'spreading autism for money' should have been enough of an indicator.
Also knowing me helps too.

Genuinely I won't care as long as you're good.

If you're fine by now I don't see any great reason to argue with you about this since I won't change your opinion about it given your stance.

Gaming / Re: Prometheans (Halo) vs A Space Marine
« on: February 01, 2015, 08:57:23 AM »
Prometheans were badass mother fuckers.

No idea why they named the spooky skull robots after them.

The first beings composed were Forerunner Warrior-Servants- who willingly sacrficed biological form to assist the Didact. Hence, why Prometheans- it was only when the Didact needed more that he began composing humans, unwillingly.

the didact even wished to have been oen himself, but notes that he has a resistance to the flood after experimenting on himself to find a cure for the flood.
Also as far as I can remember Master Chief mostly (maybe only?) fought human prometheans in H4 as it is visible by their digital human skull when they scream.

I wonder if there's a clear difference between human prometheans and promethean prometheans. Are the latter actually seen in-game?

Gaming / Re: If TLOU isn't one of the best games of all time...
« on: February 01, 2015, 08:30:26 AM »
I like when people say the gameplay isn't unique so that's why they don't like it

Unless you're playing fucking octodad no games gameplay is unique

Literally my only complaint about the game is the fact that Ellie could fucking stitch up Joel when he was impaled.

My biggest complaint is what they showed at E3 vs. what we got. The AI shown prior to release was phenomenal, the one featured in the game reminds me of Hodor on LSD.
If the comment I read is right in the E3 video you get ammo by emptying the rounds from the gun instead of just picking it up. That would have been great for a survival based game.

Not only that, but the AI flanked you, hid from you, realised when your magazine was empty and charged you accordingly.

YouTube

Watch from 3:25 onward. Look how the enemy AI sneaks up on you. Just something to think about.

Apparently, TLOU's AI was entirely scrapped a few months before release, but what are you gunna do.
And this is what we have now.

For some reason it's funnier when an intelligent old man says things like this.
I thinks it's because of the way he pronounces it.

It creates a contrast between the niveau of his articulation and the (lack of) niveau of the comments he received.
Explain to me how you're using this word 'niveau' here... I looked it up but I don't quite understand. I want to learn.
If you want to know the meaning of (how I understand) it; It may be used to describe the proficiency of someone in a certain activity.[also meaning: level, standard]

E.g.: Marc has a higher niveau in english writing than Peter, because he uses complex but accurate sentence structures and formal grammar (while Peter lacks in this regard.)
In the case of Dawkins; his speech is on a high niveau because he doesn't swallow vowels and because of his emphasised pronunciation.

If you were asking yourself why I used it instead of another word:
I've just been hearing and using it in this and similar contexts, so I've not really been thinking about why I used it in this particular instance.

So... I'd say I used it just because it's part of my vocabulary - and sounds better than 'level'.
I just wanted to know how you were using it. Is that a common or correct way?
Since I've been taught it that way, I'd dare to say yes.
