What a polarized question!
Well, let's start with the "unlucky!"
I got sick a while back. In a terrible state. Spent some time in the hospital in a comatose state for a bit. Seems unlucky right? Maybe so. But I recovered. And I woke up with a different mind. Important questions and answers were made.
And, just a few weeks ago, I got the true bad news. My genetics aren't the most stable it seems. And I inherited some good old fashioned family flaws. Bad luck, or no?
Consider the following. If I had not gone to the hospital, gone comatose, and experienced those awful days, this new development would have killed me. I would have called it quits right there. I would have snapped and broken like a twig.
So was the hospital and that advanced respitory infection unlucky? Maybe so. But without it, I wouldn't be here as I am now.
And that dormant tumor in my head? That's unlucky too.
But it gives me a reason. A reason to hang on to what I've got, and to make every day the best I can. Not only for me, but for those I call friends and family.
Bad luck or good luck?
It doesn't really matter at this point. What matters is what you make of it, and if you allow it to control you.
I will take my bad luck as it comes, and make it good luck instead.
Would you mind talking about anything you recall from being comatose?
I'll put it simple. There was nothing.
I went into the hospital, closed my eyes, and then opened them up again to a different time of day, a different room, and a shitload of equipment plugged into me. That was it.
Of all the things in my life, I can rate that moment as one of the scariest in my life.
