Serious / Re: SCOTUS Case to Test Limits of Free Speech on Social Media
« on: December 03, 2014, 01:37:27 PM »
I was reading about this the other day. As stupid as his actions were, doing stupid things isn't inherently a crime.

If the court rules against him broadly enough, that could have big implications. I think on site alone, if every off-handed "threat" were treated seriously, I imagine half the board (figuratively speaking) would face prison time, despite that there was clearly no intention of carrying out anything.

It would place the burden of proof on the speaker to prove their innocence, rather than the prosecution to prove the speaker's guilt, which seems to be what is happening in the Elonis case. I do sympathize with Tara, but I'm not sure if a venue as broad as the Supreme Court is the right way to change things here.

PODRACING?
What is this magnificent game?
It's a mod for Jedi Academy, but that's about the most I know. I'd like to say Movie Battles II, but I don't recognize the HUD.

The game is $10.00 on Steam. I still play my disc copy periodically >.>

I don't get why people always make fun of that line.
We get that Anakin doesn't like Tatooine because of his cruddy childhood. It's just the worst way of getting that point across.
Was he alluding to Tatooine there? That completely flew over my head. I thought he was just making a comment on something random to... set the mood. I don't know. Shows you how much I give a shit about pedantic nonsense like this.
Nope, it's Lucas making bad dialogue >.>

Quick question thou. Is there anyone you are afraid of telling besides us?
Nobody you should worry about.

EDIT: I don't mean that as a "mind your own business," but rather... well shit, the answer is yes, but that's the most I'd like to say about that.

In any event: Glad to see your openness about it! And Kupy all you need to do is keep being Kupy. Your orientation isn't why we love [and will continue to love] you!

Gaming / Re: Worst Publisher of 2014
« on: December 01, 2014, 05:24:39 PM »
Ubisoft has become pretty bad as of late.

I'm not sure if anyone else realizes the severity of a company flat-out lying to customers about something like the Watch_Dogs graphics downgrade, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary (the actual unused files included in the game). I'm not sure if EA or Activision have ever done anything as bad as that.

Not sure about Activision, but EA certainly has.

Since they were advertising for BF3, they've been flat-out lying to customers, promising them a variety of things, but have consistently not delivered on things such as a spectator mode, or that their super-awesome frostbite engine is built from the ground-up, despite somehow having the exact same bugs as the previous engines. They're also great for saying "Yeah the last game had these bugs and was bad, but THIS game will be better...aaaand it's still shit, broken in the same ways".

Then, when the official forums flared up about it all, they closed it down :) That's how I ended up on a "refugee forum", sorta like this place for BF, and am virtually updated daily on EA's bullshit generator.

To be fair I think Ubisoft has fallen off a cliff lately, but I still don't think they've met EA on the way down...yet.
Thanks for the reminder, I stopped keeping track of the Battlefield promises drama a long time ago. Although, I'm not sure if breaking promises is as bad as denying they were ever broken, or that they existed in the first place. But then again, if they really are making a new engine each time, why do they keep having the same pitfalls? >.>

Are you referring to MordorHQ?

Bisexuals do face *gulp* oppression, but transgender people seem to get the worst of it.

I've always found it ironic that people find ways to discriminate against others, even when they're sharing the same boat.
