ORAS sadly.

It had all the makings of a masterpiece of a remaster like Heartgold was, but they just got lazy around the edges and it really showed through. Pokemon Amie still being french in Hoenn, GG. No frontier? Alright, RS didn't have it. Oh a clone of the Battle Shitshow. Nice.

The utter stupidity of mirage spots, I can't actually be fucked to go after any of the legendaries on them.

Oh and no rematching gym leaders.

No VS seeker.

*sigh*

I've said it a few times now, if I hadn't put 500 hours into Pokemon X I'd have loved the shit out of ORAS. I'd just been playing the same damn game so much before it had even come out that it was an 80 hours and I'm done kind of deal.

And with Pokemon Z on the horizon? Blegh.

I might do what I did for the start of Gen 6 and just sit out a few years of it until something good comes along again.
Yeah, ORAS was disappointingly watered-down :/ Battle Frontier was a baffling omission.

i'm stunned

i really didn't expect this show to be this bad

the entire thing so far has been like
"oh no, they're eating the horse--how heartwrenching and dramatic"
"look at all this sad stuff happening--FEEL SOMETHING"
TWD being overrated is one of the worst-kept secrets I can think of. But despite that, I might try watching it if I ever get bored some day.

Gaming / Re: Supposed Alpha tester claims Battlefront is broken
« on: September 24, 2015, 11:20:29 PM »
I had seen some footage of gameplay, but I'm assuming it was leaked because the video is nowhere to be found now. I'll try to describe it, hopefully someone else might have seen it and knows what I'm talking about here.

The player basically just camped up on a rock and killed anything that moved for half of the video, generally ignoring the objectives. He was in first place, far and away from anyone else. Seemed like the one gun he used was sufficient for pretty much any situation--close range, medium range, even long range against snipers. IIRC the grenade launcher only had a cooldown timer, no ammo limit or anything--the grenades fly fast and far and explode on impact, with nice splash damage, so you can pretty much just fire anywhere for a guaranteed kill.

But on the bright side, the graphics are nice and the particle effects are spot-on with the original trilogy, there's just a shit ton more of them.

And even If it's not true I finally have an excuse to post this

That description has me foaming at the mouth:

Breaking Bad is a very, very slow burn. You can't skip any episodes, though, save for like... one episode in Season 3.

Season 2 is perhaps the weakest, but then it picks up and never stops (aside from the aforementioned polarizing episode).

15 minutes of campaign footage. Heads up, heavy on spoilers. You can see mission objectives on the pause screen.

It's not always if you ask me. If it's a legit expansion that was fresh newly made content after a game is released? I think it is deserving of being DLC.

Like anything in Fallout DLC, or Skyrim's Dragonborn stuff.
there's no way to gauge that these days

skyrim isn't a great example, imo, because DLC was already an established mainstay of the industry by that point

so it's hard to believe bethesda didn't have DLC in mind while developing the game

in general, i just hate paying extra for... anything, really
DLC, or more generally add-on content, ideally should be enough content such that it blurs the line between expansion and full-on sequel.

With multiplayer games, it's a bit more difficult see it that way, because it's easy to think of add-ons as 'extra' maps and 'extra' weapons. But in the grander scheme of things, if they're adding double the content for about the same price as the base game, it's almost like they're giving you a new game. And by releasing a steady stream of content, it keeps players interested until a sequel comes out (which establishes goodwill for the developer because players get to feel like they spend their money's worth).

For example, Battlefield 3 shipped for $60 with 9 maps. Through DLC, it got 20 more maps and a decent number of weapons and game types, too. IIRC buying all of them premium only cost about $50, until the price was lowered to $30 more recently. That's over 200% more maps for like 17% less money. They could have just made a sequel the next year for all the work it took, but they didn't.

Other examples I can think of would be the Shivering Isles expansion for Oblivion (they learned their lesson after 'horse armor'-gate) and The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena, which was standalone, but also included an HD remaster of the original game. There's plenty of others, those were just the ones off the top of my head.

Love the input guys

((Sarcasm))
I don't even know what Pokes are in White 2 ;_;

On a related note, I've started Black 1 and Black 2 is on my waiting list. Picked Tepig as my started in Black 1, and intended to pick Snivy for Black 2. I'm hyped to play more but I haven't had the time, and MGSV is currently taking up most of my attention anyway. I want to at least get a Deoxys in Alpha Sapphire before I go to another Pokemon game >.>

Just so you know, Tepig sucks, pick Oshowatt instead
Oshawott and Dewott are adorbs, but Samurott bothers me because I don't know what the hell it's supposed to be.

Too late to change my pick, I'm already past two g yms.

Samurott was my best Pokémon in Black, bad ass looking two.
Emboar is just fat
I named him Ganon. #bodygoals

>but muh HIV

Safe practices should be your main concern here. Don't bareback, don't use gym saunas, don't sleep around, and get tested.
Until we wisen up and confine, condemn, and dispose of all HIV carrying persons, every single practice that can help should be enacted.
In a way that does not require violating human rights.

The false sense of security, nor the awful state of health education, haven't helped America, seeing as plenty of similarly developed countries actually have lower HIV rates despite not practicing circumcision--including the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Germany, China, New Zealand, Poland, Switzerland, Italy, France, Austria, Canada, Iceland, Mexico, the Netherlands, and Denmark.
Human rights are secondary to utilitarian doctrine.
dat nanny state tho
