"Offer valid thru 09/01/04-03/31/05"

Why are you offering me something that won't be valid for 89 years?

PS1, err... Metal Gear Solid? >.> never had a PlayStation growing up so I can't say I'm too familiar with that category.

For GameCube, I can think of Resident Evil 4 and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. Twilight Princess might be cheating.

Ah you were right. It is based on Krav Maga, but it has Marine Corps and other various tactics implemented. Mainly the difference is Krav Maga seems to be prolonging fights in a martial arts way, rather than disabling the opponent.

The way my father and others implement it is you want to disable them as fast as possible. That means dislocating muscles, bringing them down to the ground, breaking arms, etc.

My honest guess is there is no real name to it if it's so heavily altered and a combination of tactics.
That sounds about right. Influences in Krav Maga and some other stuff too. And I read that there's a difference between the KM taught to civilians and military people, so that could explain the apparent discrepancies.
That's true. There are certain parts of the body where if you hit hard enough you can easily kill em. My dad showed me a few (I'm not gonna say that here), which is kinda scary.
Yeah, I've heard that it can be particularly brutal. Pain in so many ways that I can't even begin to imagine. >.> And basically no such thing as 'going easy on them'. Ouch.

One thing I liked in Chaos Theory was how the player could get captured and have to escape interrogation by picking the cuffs. Doubly fun in co-op where your buddy could bust in and rescue you. I could see how it might be in poor taste nowadays, but it ramped up the pressure to win.

That high kick alone is a no no. It probably has some elements in it, but I forget what it was called.

My dad's a black belt in it though (which I didn't learn until this year), so that's cool. I showed him the Big Boss disarming Eli at Mother Base and he nodded and went that's exactly how to do it. Pretty cool he can do the same shit.
Yeah, I have no idea why a kick is in that >.> Maybe this?

Tell ya what

I'll ask him when he gets home, because I'm getting as annoyed as you guys are thinking of the name lol.

My dad just taught me a slight glimpse of his moves he teaches to his students (he works at Blackwater, now called Academii), and jesus christ the man is scary. He didn't call it CQC/B, I forget the name, but his teacher is now is Israel training their special forces and shit.

Anyway, it's amazing such basic things can disable people, and in a stunning fashion too. I got my face slapped (lightly) as it was happening cuz his example was someone choking you against the wall. No one expects a bitch slap.

ANYWHO, I'm gonna shower now and reflect on it. He offered to actually teach me sometime soon, so I think I'll take him up on it. My brother was in Afghanistan as a private contractor (mechanic stuff), and he and another worker had arguments over cigarettes (or rather the other guy was aggressive and threw a pack at his face after he accused him of stealing them, which he didn't). He came at him with a punch and my brother stepped to the side, locked his arm, and snapped his wrist back and broke it and took him to the ground.

They took him aside and said "you have special tactics experience", and my dad couldn't stop smiling like an idiot because he was so proud.

Anyway, basically my dad is like Big Boss minus nukes and kept you waiting huh's?

I thought I'd share that story with you all.
If I were to guess... Krav Maga?

Also is there a edit post option? I can't seem to find one(probably isn't one for the moderators sanity).
