There was nothing to invalidate in MGS V considering there was literally no buildup to fucking anything.

At least Mass Effect 3 in my opinion built up to a grand finale and threw loss at you left and right. I enjoyed the adventure of ME3 FAR more than MGS V due to the set pieces, characters (YES, ME had characters, MGS V didn't), narrative, and other things.

I understand the game gets flack for the ending, as it rightfully should, but as a whole package in the story department, I'd pick ME3 any day of the week.

And shocker, the ending didn't really destroy my opinion of it either, even if it was weak. I was happy with the extended endings they gave for closure at least.

Edit: You forgot this game

>.> Alright, I'll give you MGSV. I'm enjoying the game but there's nearly no story to speak of, or at least what's there is few and far between. And from what I hear, the ending means that it's not even the story that was advertised. I'll have to look back upon it after I've played/finished the other MGS games, but I could see why it would be frustrating.

I find the ME3 example funny because folks will disavow any enjoyment they ever had with that game. I actually liked the multiplayer quite a bit, even if I felt it was a bit repetitive after a while.  You said everything else I'd have to say about it.

Also, I haven't played TWD yet. I've heard mostly good things about it otherwise and got it for GWG that time. I don't know how much I want to play it now ._.

Off the top of my head:

Crackdown 2 (very repetitive, was bored to tears)
Mercenaries 2 (to add insult to injury, my 360 RRoD'd while giving the demo a second chance)
Modern Warfare 3 (where do I even begin?)
Battlefields 3 & 4 (never quite reached the heights of BC2)
MAG (I really, really wanted to like this game but never could)

And as others have mentioned, Red Faction: Armageddon and Frontlines: Fuel of War

Septagon / Why are post links so redundant?
« on: November 04, 2015, 02:27:30 PM »
Ok, so I'll have a thread:

http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=49677

On the OP (or any post), I can click the date stamp for a 'link' of sorts to the post:

http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=49677.msg994249#msg994249

But why can't the link just be this, instead:

http://sep7agon.net/index.php?topic=49677#msg994249

It accomplishes the same thing with a little less junk. What's even the point of having it the way it is now?

Even if that game is otherwise GOTY material in terms of everything else.

What's the rationale behind this (silly) thinking?

The Flood / Re: Give me reasons why I should upgrade FROM Windows 7
« on: November 04, 2015, 08:44:50 AM »
Like, 8 was utter balls, 10, really doesnt look any different, my PC is constantly telling me I should for free....but why should I? There is absolutely nothing wrong with 7, why should I upgrade?
Actually, I've heard Windows 10 feels a lot like 7, with some cool new features. Problems arise if you have even the slightest concern for privacy.

whatever happened to 9?
they want to distance themselves from 8 as quickly as possible.
Also a marketing tactic to make your version seem older than it really is to get you to want to upgrade more.
They had to skip it because 7 8 9

*cough* I think the other problem was a technical one related to backwards compatibility: some programs for Windows 95/98 wouldn't care about the second digit so they'd just have 'Windows 9' in the code.

Gaming / Re: The PS3 is objectively a better console than the Xbox 360
« on: November 03, 2015, 04:47:34 PM »
PS3 has a better selection of exclusives, but Xbox 360 was the place for fans of shooters.
PS3's controller is dogshit.
PS3 controller is miles better than the Xbox 360 controller.
Objectively wrong.
Name one thing wrong with the PS3 controller (protip you can't)

It's small and uncomfortable.

Then again, there is one thing everyone loves to go and fucking forget about in this thread and all the other oens like this:

>Opinions
I mean if your hands are like deformed, yeah
Accept their not, I just find dual shock controllers incredibly awkward.
Yeah, they're not very ergonomic.

...Except for the PS4 controller. It took them waaaay too long to get it right >.>

And if you changed your name, why did you change it, and how did you settle on a new one?
