I hope the judge gets his way. That child needs to be raised in a normal setting and not by disgusting sinners that are going to end up sending that child to hell.
This is the serious board.
I hate to brake it to you but not everybody on this site has the same opinion as you or everybody else on this site. Even if I wasn't joking that type of thinking should not be wrong at all here. This site would be pretty damn boring if everybody thought the same way.
It's obvious they were talking about the obvious bait, not the opinion itself. Stop trying to play the victim.

ain't nobody got time fo' dat, verby

I really can't think of a reason besides it being abused, because of course it will. I personally don't have the kind of faith in people to expect otherwise. Locking threads isn't a common enough occurrence to bother with a button.

Worst-case scenario, it's just needless threads spamming the mains.
boohoo

that's why we have mods
Quote
A thread is not OP's property, so it's not their call to lock.
nothing is your property
"property" is an illusion

there is no reason the OP shouldn't be able to lock his own threads
with that logic, nobody should even be able to create threads except cheat

otherwise, it's kinda like taking a shit on someone's floor

OPs should be able to lock their own threads--the end
Firstly, no need to spam this thread.

It's just too easily abusable. It's a recipe for disaster, similarly to strict moderation.

I also can't see how OP not being able to lock their own thread would possibly imply that they shouldn't be able to make threads either--they're two completely different things with no relation to each other.

If they're so concerned about the permanence of the Internet, they should reconsider what they put on it. Staff is under no obligation to create an 'I'm losing an argument or said something regrettable so time to lock' hugbox.

You're contradicting yourself trying to argue that there's no such thing as property, yet OP's should be able to treat threads as their own property. You can't have it both ways.

Tbh fam I think threads shouldn't be locked if an OP just asks for it.
I've been fighting against it for months now.
So why are you guys against us honoring an OP's request to lock their threads? Just curious.
A thread's discussion value doesn't end just because the OP wants it to.
which is bullshit tbh

you make the thread, you should be able to end it, period

if you want the discussion to continue, you can make another thread
Worst-case scenario, it's just needless threads spamming the mains. And besides:

thread's aren't your property--so what?
nothing is your property
A thread is not OP's property, so it's not their call to lock.

I finished the campaign with Rocket the other night and... holy shit, I think that was the worst Halo ending ever. It was so... quick. Not much closure, either. At least something happened in Halo 2's ending.

I honestly would have preferred 343i's ruse ending from here:

YouTube

It'd totally destroy my childhood, and Halo in general, but goddammit, shaking up the status quo would be great.

It's been proven that for a healthy upbringing you need a mother AND a father, not MM, or FF. There needs to be a balance. I see no problem with the judge's order.
I hope the judge gets his way. That child needs to be raised in a normal setting and not by disgusting sinners that are going to end up sending that child to hell.

Gaming / Re: Halo 2 will always be the best game in the series
« on: November 12, 2015, 10:15:51 AM »
I remember H2 having a mind-numbingly boring campaign. But the underlying mechanics are objectively the most broken of any Halo game. Dual-wielding largely negates the need for melee or grenades, bullet magnetism is through the roof, Gauss Hog is the only good Warthog... off the top of my head.

Halo 5 may not have much going for it at launch, but the mechanics are mostly solid.
