The Flood / Re: Official Wikipedia articles thread« on: November 26, 2014, 01:06:09 AM »Pegboy From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Pegboy Pegboy.jpg Live in 2011 Background information Origin Chicago, Illinois Genres Pop punk Years active 1990-present Labels Quarterstick Associated acts Naked Raygun, Bhopal Stiffs Website Myspace Members John Haggerty, Joe Haggerty, Larry Damore, Mike Thompson Past members Steve Saylors, Steve Albini, Pierre Kezdy Pegboy is an American punk band from Chicago, Illinois with a relatively large cult following. They were founded in 1990 by John Haggerty (ex-guitarist for Naked Raygun), along with his brother Joe Haggerty (drums, formerly of The Effigies), Larry Damore (vocals/guitar), and Steve Saylors (bass). Both Damore and Saylors had been members of Chicago-based hardcore band Bhopal Stiffs, whose 1987 demo had been produced by John Haggerty. Pegboy's 1990 debut EP, "Three-Chord Monte", was also the first release by Quarterstick Records, an off shoot of Touch and Go Records. Steve Saylors dropped out in 1992 after job commitments prevented him from touring. Steve Albini, a longtime friend of the band, filled the bass slot on the "Fore" EP. Former Naked Raygun bassist Pierre Kezdy became the permanent bass player in 1994. After the reformation of Naked Raygun, Mike Thompson took over for Kezdy on bass.[1] Pegboy supposedly played a "farewell" show on New Year's Eve in 1999[2] but then denied that it was really a "farewell" show a few years later when they returned to live action.[3] Pegboy has been touring through the summer of 2009 with Face to Face (punk band) and Polar Bear Club. Rise Against's Tim McIlrath,[4] Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba,[5] as well as Shai Hulud's Matt Fox are big Pegboy fans. (Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune, 1991)[12] "A barrage of industrial-strength noise from the North blasted through Liberty Lunch on Saturday, when the Jesus Lizard and Pegboy combined with Kepone for a galvanizing concert that brought their autumn tour to a close. All three record for Chicago's fiercely independent Touch and Go combine, which specializes in abrasive guitars over relentless rhythms and a minimum of melody." (Don McLeese, Austin American-Statesman, 1994)[13] "The band has a knack for writing anthemic choruses in the tradition of guitarist John Haggerty`s former band, Naked Raygun."(Review of Strong Reaction, Greg Kot, Chicago Tribune, 1991)[7] "This workmanlike band inherits the Chicago muscle 'n' melody tradition of Naked Raygun." -Humans should be cloned and farmed for organs
-The US should adopt a few more socialistic properties to their economy but not too many too soon. It needs to be a slow transformation. -When true AIs do come about they should be treated equally with humans and given the same rights. -There should be at least one nuclear power plant for every large city in the world. More than that but baby steps. -Suicides and assisted suicides are perfectly acceptable -Free trade with every country. -Castro was a hero and the US should have supported him. -The US needs to be more imperialistic especially in Africa. -The US owns Europe whether they like to admit it or not -The EU needs to be tremendously reorganized, namely the rich countries need to stop letting the poor countries mooch off of them. -I don't think NHS nor Obamacare are approaching universal healthcare properly. That's all I got for now. 82

Generically modifying food to be more filling, or resist insects, or whatever, is inherently wrong. Talk to be when you're not brainwashed by the corporate conglomerate anymore. If you support GMOs in any way, you're a fucking confirmed retard.please try again when there isn't a near universal consensus that they are fine. 83
