Canada's government tossed around the idea of abolishing homelessness by giving every citizen the constitutional right to a home in the 80s. So that's something.

The Flood / Re: And there it goes« on: January 29, 2016, 10:11:46 AM »But how can you love somebody that much so quickly? How do you mean? The only times I've cried over girls is after loving them for at least half a year and getting used to them being with me. It's a really jarring change to be with someone you love one day and not the next. And maybe I do let my emotioms run rampant. And maybe I should do something about that. But I'm not going to say that me feeling instensly about this is by any means a bad thing, even if it has its downsides. 9853

Gaming / Re: Metal Gear Rising was a fun game« on: January 28, 2016, 10:03:39 PM »Did I come off as hostile or the ever popular "butt hurt"? I wasn't, so relax. I mean, yeah you did (otherwise I wouldn't have said anything), but if you didn't mean to come off that way then I apologise. Quote You can completely skip the stealth mechanics last I checked, like in the sewers. It was probably shoehorned in at the wish of Kojima who wanted some semblance of MGS in it. Hence why if they go a MGR2, it will be completely gone I hope. The point is I shouldn't have to skip it. If I play it, and it isn't good, I'm going to say it isn't good. Just 'cuz you can skip the bad parts of a game doesn't mean they don't exist or aren't relevant, y'know? Quote As for the controls, I felt they were fine minus the parrying. Yeah camera was bad at times. I guess my problem with the controls was that the game didn't adequately explain the parrying system (I didn't really understand all that much until I got to the final boss.) But I mean, the fact that I can get that far on the hardest difficulty without understanding the basics... But yeah at least we agree the camera was bad. 9860

Gaming / Re: Metal Gear Rising was a fun game« on: January 28, 2016, 09:57:12 PM »News for you. It's not a Solid game. They said that from the get go. The game isn't bad because of what you personally wished was in it. The objectives they set out to do were done by leaps and bounds. They rescued what was otherwise a dead project. The butthurt is real. And for no reason, considering I said I actually liked the game. If the game is going to include stealth sections, and it executes them poorly, what do you expect me to say? The stealth sections are shoehorned in. Either take them out or improve them. Personally, I think improving them would provide enough gameplay variation to make it far more interesting. Quote The controls were fine, what? The only thing I disliked was the block/parry mechanic, but the game can be challenging on the hardest of difficulties. The controls aren't that great. They're pretty dumb (in the sense that they're easy to use) and the aiming of weapons does not feel responsive in the slightest. And don't get me started on the camera. I played and beat the game on the hardest difficulty in a day, so I don't really think it was all that difficult... 9863

Gaming / Re: What videogame character would you drag out and beat with a baseball bat?« on: January 28, 2016, 09:49:42 PM »Ruto. Funny you say that. I originally had Navi placed down as my first choice, but I'm only really annoyed with her "Hey, listen!" bullshit, which provides about the same level of irritation as the low health sound. Basically what I'm saying is that I equate her existence to that of an annoying sound file, not a character. Whereas the Owl just repeats the same shit Navi will say and he doesn't go away even if I've already had the exact same conversation with him before. And Ruto is just a huge bitch and the fact that I have to marry her is complete garbo. 9865
Gaming / Re: Metal Gear Rising was a fun game« on: January 28, 2016, 09:46:45 PM »
Neither the gameplay nor the story are very good, but I'm not going to lie and say I didn't enjoy the game. It has an irresistible charm to it. The music is pretty "crawling in my skin" so obviously I enjoyed it.
Greater emphasis on stealth mechanics would've been greatly appreciated considering the game, for some reason, absolutely MUST include those sections in it. Controls didn't feel very responsive and probably could've used some work, too. The game is also unbelievably easy. If it wasn't such a dumb action game I'd probably go analyse it a bit more thematically speaking but I know there's nothing underneath the surface. This game came from the same fucks who created Bayonetta, so. . . And of course, the memes, Jack. 9866
