Try it. UP is easier to get into; Closer is a bit of a grower, but it can make you feel true anguish like no other album can, I think.

Try Unknown Pleasures before you drop them. Closer is my favorite JD album but it's overwhelmingly depressing.

Listening to this and it's pretty good. Little bit lacking in individuality, though. It sort of reminds me of a Radiohead in parts but feels a little more like Modern Pop than their early stuff did. They've shaken off their early Post Punk ideas, though, so I can't say I'm surprised it sounds this way.
Not bad though.
yeah i haven't listened to it in its entirety yet (my copy hasn't arrived yet so) but I'm a big fan of Stray Dog and Tutti Frutti.
