Jak 4

I'm not sure if I'd want Naughty Dog to do it, given that their priorities these days are all out of whack, but a spiritual follow up by SuckerPunch or something would be cool.

toyotaro really needs to study more anatomy.
Everybody except Vegeta and Freiza looks fine, but they all have the benefit of baggy clothing.

Goku is fucking awful (Toyo's weakness has always been shoulders) Roshi is too small and his Krillin is awkward.

The sizing of all the characters is actually just really inconsistent, but that's more perspective than anatomy.
You mean Goku's delts? I can see that, but I'd chalk that up to perspective as well. It looks like he originally planned to spread the cast out further behind Goku (judging by the left side alone), but then he fucked up and drew everyone on the right (except Roshi) on the same line as Goku.

It's still pretty awful for official art.

EDIT: And also what the fuck is going on with Goku's pecs?

both shoulder's look dislocated.

anyways my point is pretty obviously made.

I'm always putting doodles n shit on there

instagram is for frauds

twitter is where real artists roam

What if you have both

i have both but ig just isnt where you go if youre looking to network and grow. its just a place where people post redraws after redraws and make money on endorsements. its pure narcissism.

Trying to find good references to draw Goku on Google Images is a hassle. It's 80% fanart, I'm guessing you need to be super specific to find official pics from the anime or manga on there.

i'll send you everything i have when i get home.

Here's some of the stuff I have on file:

Spoiler
Angled Noses:

Upper Body angled muscles:

Misc. saiyan hair:

side view:

gogeta at angles:

female upper body:

some useful poses:

little takahashi reference:

nice muscle reference:

good shading reference:

gohan character sheet (movie 8 IIRC):

ssj3 hair reference:

buu saga goku ssj character sheet:

UI Goku cs:

eyes:

male upper body muscles:

bicep examples:

quirky goku ref:

shading ref:

gogeta positioning ref:

mouths:

misc.:

goku posi:

trunks movie 8 cs:

vegetto posi:

goku misc. angles:

male back muscles:

the worst things in existence:

misc. posis:

U6 Goku ref:

more male upper body ref:

bardock hair ref:

face shading ref (new vs old):

face posi (limited applications for db):

lighting ref:

As for practice I'd say redraw any specific piece of the character you want ten times a day until you absorb the material. Then you can start to play with it a little more. Good luck!

digital art fascilitates animation as well. on top of that it can result in a more polished product for things like promo art.

i do prefer cel shading to digital shading in my animation, though. my ideal system would be digital genga followed by physical cel shading.

they both require different skills.

its easier to draw "straight" lines on canvas because the resistance of the paper stabilises the pen. digital art requires a much more steady hand.

Gosh, I just imagined Jiren saying that.

"Motivation is worthless, only absolute discipline matters."

Jiren and I are both Uchiha edgelords so it makes sense.

Lmao do you actually care about this trailer park trash?

I don't expect anyone here to understand Goth Boy Clique.

Also fun fact did you know both of his parents were Harvard graduates? I wonder what the disconnect was... it probably the drugs and bad influences at school or his parent's divorce.

I really enjoyed his raw talent and sad message like you can tell he was really suffering and he knew he was going to die soon. He was also one of the few artists that sounded the same recorded and live.

RIP Lil Peep.
fuck lil peep and the rest of these bitch ass rappers hahaha you fucking kidding me or what

I wish I had that motivation to actually improve at drawing DB like you do

Motivation is worthless. Build a habit of discipline instead and every aspect of your life will improve.

Explain

Motivation is very fickle and comes and goes independent of the individual. Discipline however, is behavioural and can be acquired through routine.

In a limited sense, tell yourself you're going to draw for minimum 30 minutes a day. It takes 21 days to build a habit (and 7 days to break one), so after 21 days, it'll be easier for you to just draw every day. And if you're drawing every day, you'll improve in no time.

Once you realise the merits to discipline it'll start to influence the rest of your life. At least, that's what it did for me. Focus on maintaining a consistent level of "hard work" in everything you do and it will no longer be "hard work," it'll just be your baseline work ethic.

New form looks all kinds of garbage. I liked SSG because it used Goku's base hair, and I like UI because it made Goku's base hair more flowy. This one is just so fucking lazy. Toriyama even traced his SSG design for Perfected Instinct.

Is this teenager goku 😳

it's just toriyama's style now
