I will say there are a few "Batman and Robin" level moments in the film. Not as bad, but they definitely make you question what the director was thinking.

It's not that bad. It's not great, but it's not that bad.

Stronger narrative than MoS
Afleck and Cavill are fantastic
Art direction is perfect

From the moment I saw Doomsday as a villain, I was expecting this. It looks like they're pulling a Halo 5 with it, by making the fight between Bats and Superman a small part of the film before an even bigger bad comes and they have to team up and be best buds to take him town.

Not really. They're about equal.

Something to consider lucky then. You dodged a bullet.

You said it.

Man, I hope Gojira comes back soon to discuss the movie. I remember him being the resident Man of Steel shill back in the days of Bungie.net, so I'd be very interested in hearing his thoughts on it.
Gojira's been gone for a solid year. Last I heard he left because of college work or something.

He shows up everyone once in awhile, though.

I'm so torn on this movie, the more I think about it. I really can't wait to see it again and figure some shit out. Looking forward to hearing everyone's thoughts on it, too.

As far as I know, there haven't been any leaks which is fantastic. I really admired WB's stance on spoilers this time around. Seems like they finally got a lid on it.

Without specifics, is there any reveal (character or plot) that the trailers didn't explicitly show?

Most definitely.

Better than Man of Murder?

Or is it one big clusterfuck like I suspect it will be?

I thought it was marginally better than MoS. The narrative and pacing were certainly better. But... it's a very weird film. Not in the sense that it's bizarre or outlandish. I didn't out-right hate it, I just couldn't help but think at multiple moments in the film that it felt rushed or something. At least a dozen moments in the film where I was just like... "Why?" Very questionable creative decisions, I think.

The only thing I absolutely didn't like was Lex's character direction and a few semi-spoilery things with Batman.

I had very low expectations for the movie so maybe I'm just pleasantly surprised, I don't know. I'm still processing some stuff and I'll have a better opinion when I see it again Thursday.

Because you're now required to buy tickets and board the hype train for every event since directors have no confidence in their crap's selling potential and freak out if they think it's not going to rake them in half a 3rd world country's worth of money.

Well if I made movies like Snyder I'd lack confidence in my movies' quality, too.

do you think the trailers revealed too much about the film?

They always do. I watched all the trailers on my way home from the cinema for the first time, and was pretty shocked at how revealing some of the clips were, especially considering the half-hour recorded lecture Snyder decided to put in front of his movie encouraging us "not to spoil the movie for others". Like, you've already done that, jack-ass.

It's a fucked up trend nowadays, which is why I try to avoid all trailers and stuff for every movie I know I'm going to see. Things like Suicide Squad and Civil War, for example. If I'm going to see it anyway, why do I need to watch a trailer?

The best escort mission is the one from Ocarina of Time where you have to carry Ruto through the dungeon. Though, she's less of an escort and more of a tool you use to get past shit.

Latin for now, as it's easier. If you get the chance to focus more of your attention in the future on Greek though, definitely go for it.

60 FPS is a nice addition if you can afford it, but you should absolutely put every feature you think should be there into the product first.

This is a ridiculous question with only one right answer.

I'd say Elder Scrolls or Fallout for lore but you've already said you don't like Bethesda's style of gameplay

Maybe mass effect?

Mass Effect bored the shit out of me and I got lost a lot.

Granted I haven't played it in a few years, but still. I hated those missions in ME1 where you had to drive vehicles. Really ruined it for me.

so, did the PS2 thing ever pan out, or nah

i see you're back to using MGS avatars, at least

yeah, it did. i'm on a jak and daxter kick right now, though -- or, i was before i left for europe last week. i'm trying to 100% all 3 games, plus jak x and maybe the lost frontier.

then i'll get to klonoa.

as for the avatar thing -- i'll always love mgs and its characters. just because i'm kinda "done" with gaming doesn't mean i stop liking the games i liked before.
