Well I don't think opening up about that is a bad idea. I did with my ex, and I actually am feeling a hell of a lot better now compared to before.
I don't really care.

Yeah, the point is that I've spent the better part of the last 3 years "taking time off from girls" and all that resulted in was severe depression, anxiety and a ridiculous lack of ambition.
You should probably see a psychologist. That's what I'm doing now.
I already do, but for other reasons.

which I think is not a realistic and fulfilling goal at all. It's a fantasy and will only lead to more heartache and pain etc
Plenty of people in my church have what I want. It's not unrealistic or unfulfilling at all. I just fundamentally see relationships different than you.

If she'll do it once she'll do it again. It might be nice to hang out with her catch up, but I wouldn't engage in a serious relationship. Twice actually. That's why I think it was a mistake. I'm 100% serious when I say a qt girlfiend won't magically make you not a miserable fuck if on the inside you're a miserable fuck.
It does, though. It's not just the girlfriend, it's the responsibility of taking care of another human being that urges me to have goals and be productive. The bottom line is, I don't care about myself or my well-being enough to do things for myself. But if others well-being is at stake, that's what pushes me to get my shit together. I want that. I don't have that, and I need it. I don't want a "girlfriend", I want a "wife". In purely conceptual terms, obviously.

Go find someone else who can reciprocate your feelings, or be a miserable cunt.
Those are about your only options.
Finding someone else means I'll be a miserable cunt, and it usually takes me years to find a girl I like, anyway.

Forget both and move on. Wish it were that easy.

Forget girl A and bang girl B. Then move on and find someone else. Not "banging" anyone.

Describe your mindset with girls
I think I already have an idea but I'd like to make sure
I don't understand your question.

Few weeks ago I had my heart broken by a girl I'd been pining over for some time. At this emotional low-point for me, I made the rash decision of getting in touch with an ex-girlfriend of mine whom I haven't talked with in 2 years.
I suppose the mindset I had was that I was tired of being alone and I knew that me going back to an old flame would sort of a be a "sure thing", alieviating some of the pain.
I asked her to get coffee sometime, to which she agreed. She generally seemed like how I remember: cordial, caring, upbeat, kind. We're supposed to go sometime in the next couple of days.
But see, the problem is that
a) this girl has been no-good for me in the past, and b) I'm still really into that other girl
There is a possible future with the first girl but not for at least a year or two. I think I would be happier with her and she's actually 10/10 marriage material, but it's not a sure thing and by not moving on I'm just potentially waiting around for nothing. Something that I feel I've been doing for the last 5 years.
So, any suggestions? I can elaborate where necessary. I'm honestly just kind of curious to see what some of you think.

Played a bit of MGS V again today. Still fun as hell.
Every time I go over to Matt's house I always play TPP. The same mission: White Mamba. The one where you extract Eli. Dunno why, it's just my favourite mission. Can't wait to replay it this weekend.

I love the art style. I'm getting this for sure. Can't believe I haven't seen anything about it.
Same. It's reminds me of a darker, more conceptual version of WindWaker. I bought a Playstation 4 and a 2TB HDD for it yesterday, it should arrive by the time I get home tomorrow. You down for some Rocket League this weekend or something? I'm itching to get back into the gaming swing of things.

And it has a bit of humour, too. If you read the weapon descriptions and stuff. Found this to be pretty interesting:

Did no one show this? Like holy crap...
Dude it honestly looks like a blast. It features permanent death and friendly-fire co-op. The tears are going to be delicious.

The thing is though is that you don't need 100% of the people who start working on that polish stage to stay on it throughout the development cycle. The "polish team" as we'll call it gets smaller over time as less people are needed for the work they're doing as things get closer to release and those people who are no longer needed for the polishing are put to work building the things the art team has been cooking up in the mean time.
So then what do we do about the current situation we find ourselves in regarding DLC and pre-order BS and all of this crap?

Wait what the fuck is necropolis this looks dope how have I never seen this before
It's getting, like, no attention and I don't know why. The art style kinda reminds me of WindWaker and the gameplay looks like it'll be a blast. Especially with friends, considering its permadeath and friendly-fire.

Basically it could be a new method of doing things, but we'd have to see what comes after scorpio to confirm what I'm about to say.
So think of the xbox one as the base platform and scorpio as the "half gen" or something similar. All games made for the xbox one will be able to be played on scorpio at higher resolutions, better framerate, and with additional features like VR. Then when the nextbox hits all games for it will also work on the scorpio, but at a lower resolution and framerate.
Somewhat similar to how the PC platform currently works. Games are made for a variety of different configurations, the more powerful ones getting better performance and sometimes more features, but the less powerful ones still being able to play the same game without being segregated from the rest of the community.
Only time will tell what MS does with this though.
That's actually pretty interesting. No one would be forcing you to buy into the next half-gen, and as long as it's reasonably priced, seems pretty cool to me.

but if you want a simple plug and play console just get the regular Xbox one Yeah, but they want that plug-n-play accessibility with their frame-rates and resolutions and textures and shit. Irrelevant shit. I know, it's dumb. But that's literally the mindset of some people.

People who are not involved in this part of development (like the art team) are put to work on post release content because it's better to put your people to work than it is to have them sit around and do nothing for a couple months.
Oh, then yeah. I agree with that. I was referring more to people who are a bit more directly tied into the actual game itself, rather than its conception, working on post-release content prior to release. That's something I don't think should be acceptable.
