Why are you playing backwards
Accessibility and convenience. DS3 is the most user-friendly game I imagine so it's good for newbies like me to get a grip of the game's mechanics.
DS2 is the only other Souls game on the PS4, and it's less of a leap backwards than going from DS3 to Demon's Souls or Dark Souls 1.
Besides it's not like these games have much of a story that I'll miss by playing them out of order.
