People literally spam walls. It drags the pace of the game down to a halt. There's a reason PUBG has pro teams and tournaments and fortnite doesn't.

Yeah they spam walls but it's really not as devastating to the pace of the game as you're making it out to be. Half the time people are building off each other anyway and it's a crazy struggle to get the height advantage and out-juke your opponent. Fortnite is on its way to the competitive scene, they've already included custom matchmaking keys for such events. It'll be the next League of Legends. Being played competitive doesn't mean your game is competitive, either.

Quote
Y can however hide behind a tree, rock, or crouch in some defilade and gain an unfair advantage.

Yeah, fair enough. Don't think it's that big of a deal, though.

Quote
That's all I see when I watched gameplay of fortnite.

Who have you watched play?

I think you're biased because you aren't good at PUBG. One of the main complaints people who prefer fortnite make is that you spend 20 minutes looting then die in a second in pubg. That's not really the game's fault, it's yours.

If you remember when I first started playing Fortnite I thought PUBG was better. I was actually a lot better at PUBG at that point. The building meta was really hard to get into.

Eventually though I got better at Fortnite and over time noticed cool things that make the game more fun: jump height, multiple weapons, COOL weapons that are more fun than realistic, hectic team building, verticality, etc. It's a game that's okay with being a game and not sticking to the limitations of reality at the expense of fun. PUBG is a fine game I just don't think the whole realistic shtick it has going on is all that much fun. Even if it lends itself to a more hardcore competitive gaming crowd, I still don't think that makes it the better game. Fortnite has changed more in the one month I've been playing it than PUBG has in the near year I've owned it.

>autistic minecraft building is competitive
autistic
minecraft

yes, building is quite difficult to pull off effectively and has a high skill ceiling, therefore it is competitive.

Quote
>3rd person is competitive

no more or less competitive than first person considering that you can't switch shoulders and corner camp

Quote
>hip firing spray and pray is competitive

not a thing here, if anything, it's discouraged because of the bullet time and shot displacement

besides, even if PUBG were more competitive (which it isn't, it's just more realistic) Fortnite would still be a better game.

You mean how the game will cycle through the default skins? You'd like to choose between the default ones available?
yeah

i would also enjoy having the option to mute all mics by default, because what i have to do now is set up a private party chat with myself just to drown out the noise when it ought to just be an option in the game

but yeah otherwise i'd agree

yeah i'd like to have a default skin option, or even let me buy them for 150 vbucks or whatever. some of them aren't bad.

you could also just turn down voice chat sound to 0 in the options menu
>not communicating with your teammates

Truly a competitive experience

>teamwork = competition = better game

fortnite is more competitive because there are more elements to master within the game.

I can't believe this game is early access. It feels complete.
i could use an avatar selector

i understand why the shop items are so expensive, but if i could just have that one thing, that would be pretty nice

The “Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup” mode for Battle Royale will feel just like a standard slugfest — with one major difference: One hundred players will descend upon the map and fight until one player is left standing, as usual, but this time you’ll do so with the Infinity Gauntlet in play.

The artifact containing all six Infinity Stones — the same one Thanos used to cripple Earth’s Mightiest Heroes on the big screen — will appear on the map. Whomsoever finds and equips it will transform into Thanos himself, wielding all the power that comes with him.

Man, I love these devs. They just don't give a fuck about the "rules."

I don't see why they didn't commit to that considering Robert doesn't want to play the part anymore. That would've been a rare case of committee storytelling fitting perfectly with the narrative. But IIRC, he gave Disney the permission to use his CGI likeness till they get tired of it. I'll try and find a source but if it's true it'll give some insight into the timeline of superhero movies beyond what's already planned.

Quote
what they should've done is kill iron man the MOMENT thanos stabbed him, which is what everybody thought was gonna happen anyway, and it felt super earned with the music abruptly stopping the moment it happened, with tony looking defeated as fuck and everything

because Tony will die in part 2. its the single victorious future outcome that Strange was talking about. Tony needed to live so that he could sacrifice himself in part 2, thats why Strange gave up the mind stone to save him despite saying earlier he wouldnt hesitate to sacrifice him or peter.

it would also complete his "ive had thanos in my head for the past 5 years thats why im so paranoid" storyline quite nicely.

LMAO

Mark Ruffalo is so fucking stupid holy shit
...un fucking believable

it was stupid enough when he said "like every other marvel movie it doesn't end well" and i thought that was gonna be the end of the video

how any one of us avoided seeing that for the year long this has been uploaded is pretty incredible though--good guy youtube algorithm?

no lots of people saw it but i think people in general are just getting more sensitive about spoilers so theyre just not perpetuating them anymore

a lot of people are starting to abstain from trailers and interviews and muting key words on social media

My buddy brought up a pretty good point, how Thanos was inconsistent with his previous appearances. I wouldn't say he lacked intimidation or anything, but in GoTG he's far more menacing than in this film. And he found it hard to believe that a dude who wears golden armour and sits on a gigantic floating throne most of the time would be happy sitting in a shack after his goals were accomplished.

He definitely wasn't portrayed as the evil guy he should be, and that takes away from his character quite a bit IMO.

Lol. PUBG was a huge waste of money. It's not even a finished product yet it still has that $80 price tag. And since when does being disatisfied with a product you spent money on make you either a little bitch or a retarded worker? Obviously money means a lot more to me than it does to you, and I'm not about to apologise for that.

I'm not even that dissatisfied with PUBG, I just think Fortnite is a much better game and the fact that I didn't have to pay for it when I forked over $80 to play PUBG is pretty funny.

idk why you think you're some L-tier psychoanalyser but you need to cut that shit out.
Fortnite is a very goofy and luck based game and is far more casual than pubg. I'm not really knocking the game entirely or anyone who plays it but it should be recognized for what it is. If people have fun playing it, awesome. That's all that really matters.

As for it not being a finished product, what exactly do you mean? Bluehole tweaking balance and adding content doesn't mean it's an unfinished game. The servers have been pretty stable for several months.

Also $80? What the heck

The building aspect is what makes it competitive, as well as the cool little video gamey things like Port a Forts and jump pads.

PUBG doesn't really feel finished to me. In Fortnite you have this robust leveling system that lets you acquire gear regularly, customise your character whenever you want, provides challenges to fascilate level progression, and a nice little store to buy things in. It's much more cohesive and professional than PUBG, despite being free and in early access. Additionally the whole game works on seasons, wherein every week there are new game modes and challenges to complete that open up the door to cosmetic unlocks. Map changes come every season and every season has a theme. Last month was space exploration, this month is superheroes. It feels like a video game with some soul behind it. The gameplay is a lot less realistic and goofy I guess but it feels like it exists to be fun, not to be realistic, and that's what makes it feel fresh and creative. For example, the new season just started today. Last season there was a comet that got closer to the map every day , it crashed down today, destroying a location on the map and damaging some other locations. anywhere a crater appears are these pieces of comet that, when consumed, let you jump around like the incredible hulk. It's a blast and something you'd never see in PUBg.

I dont understand why it matters if kids play it, as far as i can see, if i can enjoy myself at the same time playing something with my niece and nephew, thats a win.

PUBG was $80 canadian when I bought it.

"A platitude is a trite, meaningless, or prosaic statement, generally directed at quelling social, emotional, or cognitive unease"

My post was none of those things.

Wait shit, yeah, my second post was talking about my personal experience. I lost track of the conversation.

Your post is coming off as a pissy comment about your unsatisfied experience, which means you sound like a little bitch or a retarded blue collar worker. Not something I'd normally address, but lately you've been acting this way too much. I was just pointing out that you're being emotional in the first reply. It's not even complaining, it's just a form of passive aggressiveness I'm seeing

Not even the biggest PUBG shill but Fortnite is absolute trash
The only reason it's more popular is because it's free and marketed to normalfags

Fortnite is a more competitive, more creative and better designed game than PUBG ever was. It being free and marketable to everyone is part of what makes it the better game.

my nephew spent more money on that game's skins than the cost of pubg
yeah cuz its a game you want to spend money on, not one you wish you didn't
You're speaking from your personal experience, or you're saying a platitude.

Reiterate.
Assume the perspective different from your own. One where you like the other game, or even both, and the whole sentence becomes riddled with holes. If you're not talking about PUBG, but instead saying that Fortnite is a game you want to spend money on and not one where you wish you didn't, then you're repeating a simple logical rule "this game is a game you want to spend money on, not one you don't want to spend money on", so either you're saying "I don't like the game, I wish I hadn't paid for it, Fortnite is a game I want to spend money on." or a sentence that doesn't matter - a platitude if you will.

Stop talking shit about a game just because you didn't like it.

Learn english, dude. That's not what a platitude is. Your post basically boils down to "Imagine you liked PUBG, you'd be saying the exact opposite thing." It's like, yeah dipshit, if I liked PUBG more, obviously I'd be saying I like it more. I understand that some people think PUBG is better, and I think they're wrong. That's the whole point of discourse.

You ramble and your diction is so bizarre and unnatural it's incredibly difficult to understand what you're getting at.

I don't understand how the ending was "gutsy."
you're pretty much alone on that
not at all

we all knew going into the film it would end on a dark note, as all 2 part stories do

my expectations were fulfilled
in a franchise where only one who-gives-a-fuck character died in almost twenty movies, killing just one major character would've been a dark note to end on by that standard

they went further than could be reasonably expected

expecting more than one or maybe two characters to die wouldn't be reasonable, let alone having the big bad win in the end

an empire strikes back style ending where the main characters are at their lowest point, but the war isn't necessarily lost, is the only reasonable expectation BASED on how the movies have conditioned us so far

sure you can talk about how obvious it is that it'll be reverted in the next movie but that doesn't actually have any bearing on the movie that currently exists right now on may 1st 2018

i just don't agree. it would be an entirely different story if this film didn't establish that you can bring people back to life, but it did, and that removes any impact the direction could have had. there was no guarantee that Luke would win in Ep 6 based on Ep 5, but there is with IW, because despite Peter Quill and Peter Parker dying, GOTG3 and SM2 already in pre-production.

you can say you wish to experience each film in a vacuum, which is fine, but that's not the intention of the creators and expecting others to see it that way is silly.

So you did read what I said when I say the game doesnt do that right?

It does. I've seen it. This is not up for debate.

Quote
If you played the game youd see that the story does service the gameplay, as the gameplay never stops to tell a story it all happens at the same time.

You don't even know what "service" means. Yes, the game does stop to tell a story, but that's not even what I'm talking about.

Quote
But really. Combo throwing the axe and returning it and flinging it straight back like an OP Thor is a pretty fucking fun experience.

It's akin to dangling keys in front of an infant. There's no substance there.

Evidently he has not gotten far into the video since Britt talks about how shallow the combat is
You guys are coming off kinda pretentious. I've been watching this dude stream it and the only slow parts I've seen are few and far between with them mostly being puzzles and then there's a lot of combat. I don't really see how the combat is shallow per se, but then I don't know anything about the older God of War games and what the combat was like in that. So maybe I'm wrong, but the game looks fun to me.

Have any of you actually watched somebody play this game, or just some guy's review on YouTube? Because we all know how an edited video can make anything look bad or at least much worse than it already is, and how jaded people can get reviewing games.

ive been watching my brother play it. the old gow were pretty shallow too but at least everything existed to service the presentation of kratos being this badass guy and it was actually this very video gamey game.

its not as offensive as other modern games but its still not great.
