im actually okay with other games having a battle royale mode, granted they do something at least a little original with it. its a great concept.
tbf there's a difference between building a game with it in mind and shoving it into games where it just flat out doesn't belong as a cheap gimmick. It's like jet packs and wallrunning all over again - titanfall worked because the game was designed from the ground up to support that, and had the interplay of speedy mcfast gameplay with the slow and hulking Titans, while Call of Duty just slapped jet packs on an existing gameplay loop and didn't change the map design or game design philosophy accordingly to accomodate such a change.
Black Ops 4 and Battlefield 5 (if the leaks are true) having them is gonna be a clusterfuck because neither game was built for such a thing.
