solidus was definitely the best bad guy, though

6362
eh. doesn't really change my feelings on it.

we can sit here and argue what it all really meant and how we're to interpret the game until we're blue in the face, but at the end of the day, the story had absolutely no tact or grace in delivering its message, no matter what it may be. that's what i have an issue with, not the actual direction of the story.
Like mentioned above, the ending doesn't bother me so much as Konami cutting the budget and content. Well that, along with Kojima taking the feedback from MGS4 so hard, that MGS V has almost no real cutscene exposition aside from a handful at best.

He couldn't find the happy medium like MGS 1/2/3? Seemed a healthy balance of gameplay and cutscenes to me.

agreed. i dunno, maybe kojima's just past his prime.

i honestly couldve forgiven the entire game if only we had some more interaction with liquid and boss. make the reveal actually somewhat surprising, make liquid look up to boss while venom shits all over him (making his hatred for him in MGS1 more believable/justified). make boss always compare eli to david to explain his resentment for solid.

that was the biggest let down for me, considering liquid is my fav mg character.
Why is Liquid your fav? He's only around for one game and even then he's not even that amazing to me aside from a catchphrase or two.

Solidus was easily the better written of the two, and actually has motivations that don't exactly put him on the "bad guy" side in such an easy light. Kinda did what Big Boss did, only to be cut down by his "son".

i have a thing for the "cursed fate" characters of any series. liquid snake, ocean master new 52, etc.

liquid's just the coolest looking, too. got that 80s action-villian, billy zabka-cobra kai dojo look going on

The whole thing is a cash grab

you have to pay for the flu shot in the US?

>Refuses to use child soldiers
>Is always cordial to Eli
>When Eli ambushes him, he simply disarms him and gives him a brief warning not to do it again
>After not seeing him for a while, Eli steals a Metal Gear and runs off

Can definitely see why Liquid hated him so much, Venom was such a dick tbh

this is sarcasm right

your reminders of the contemporary time period are unnecessary

I recently ordered a copy of this annotated by Charles N. Feidelson, Jr.. It's supposed to have the best annotations available.

never heard of it

« on: August 31, 2016, 04:37:19 PM »
but i did it anyway, and guess what happened

so i ordered it like i said i was going to. 75USD which is roughly 100 bucks canadian. got here in a few days. i tried it out, but there was something wrong with it. it appears that a wiring issue came up and the batteries were overheating, resulting in a loss of power to the walkman (effectively making the tapes run a touch slower than they were supposed to). the device was overheating too, with obvious melted parts on the side. no big deal, right? i'd just send it back.

i request a return and the guy just gives my all my money back and tells me to throw my walkman away. what the hell? i was like okay.

i took the walkman to this electronic repair store and they fixed it in an hour. 20 bucks charge.

i got a functional sony walkman for 1/5th the price.

used the refund money to buy one of those gamecube GBA adapter things so i can play fire red and emerald on the big screen.

Yep. Also does anyone else think looking at women without their consent is rape?

Depends. Quick glance? Nope. Climbing up a tree to see her undress? Definitely.

how the fuck is that rape

and also manage the physical limitations of the pokemon

You see the problem with that, though, right?

If your Pokémon can just clear obstacles automatically, then there may as well be no obstacle at all.

yeah i guess

maybe have it have  something to do with the badges.

there's absolutely no need for them

just have pokemon that CAN learn fly be able to FLY. why does my pidgeot need to learn a move to let me fly on his back?

maybe like defog, i can understand. but rock smash? here's what i would do: "Hey machamp, punch that rock homie".

ads are seriously harmful though. especially for children.
?

how much do you know about advertisement and the ad creation process?

it is absolutely mental the amount of fucking subconscious manipulation and near brainwashing that goes into these things

children's minds are too malleable.

the consumer market, and by extension, advertisements are one of the greatest evils in the world.
No I agree, I just thought you meant something else.

what did you think i meant?

6384
Also, what are you doing in this thread? Are you playing Dark Souls I?

I find the conversation in between your updates interesting. As for the updates themselves, I haven't read any of them. I have DS1 on my shelf but I haven't been assed to play it yet. I just started work so I have limited time to play, and the TV my PS3 is connected to has horrible input lag.

I care not for playing properly then.

FUCK THE SYSTEM

#YOLO
i mean, playing on the hardest difficulty is certainly better than playing easy mode or something

apparently, Doom is contradictory in the sense that it has a "normal" difficulty, which would suggest that that's the standard, but the developers have gone on record to state that the "hard" difficulty is the definitive Doom experience

in my opinion, if it was the definitive doom experience, they wouldn't have called it "hard"--that doesn't make any sense to me, but not everyone thinks in the same terms as i do

the case is the same for Halo--the game is "meant" to be played on heroic, yet it has an easier difficulty called "normal," which i find misleading

because developers use relative terms to describe their difficulty. in their minds, normal does not mean "way the game was designed to play", but "normalised/average difficulty"

6387
I was probably one or two recorded lines away from putting this video up, and then I was disrupted ::)

Ah well. I'll have it up by tomorrow, guaranteed.

Spoiler

how is movie maker running on your computer? is it really laggy like mine?

i'm wondering if it's because i need a new computer or not.

I'd rather finish low-mid bracket with Sheik than be remembered as the guy who went 0-2 at every tourney just because he refused to stop playing Link/Puff.

character loyalists are the heart and soul of smash though

Playing Yellow. I accidentally deleted my Pikachu's Thundershock. I was going to reset but that would put me back about 2 hours so fuck it. I'll power through.

why would it matter, you'll get thunderbolt soon enough
