Jesus. There's something going on here behind the scenes. The most radical Presidential candidate in recent memory gets elected at the precise time where he would have the most unchecked power.

The most powerful and influential nation in the world voted Donald Trump to be its President.
We don't deserve to survive the coming calamity.

i dont think the dems ever expected sanders to get so popular, being the nobody he was, and from the getgo planned to shove hillary down our throats because of her status.
See, and that's why I think Warren could do it with the right campaign. Bernie broke past a lot of barriers. I mean for fucks sake, the race between him and Clinton was really close.
it mightbe been close but really, there was never a chance for sanders to win. the whole process was corrupt to the core, and hillary in the office was best for everyone in power.
the dems would need to back warren from the start, OR just do nothing (like they should) and let the people decide democratically. neither of those propisitions are very likely imo.
And despite it being that corrupt, look at how close it got anyway. I'm generally a pretty skeptical person but the democratic primaries actually made me pretty optimistic.
a close loss is still a loss. even if sanders managed to get more votes, the party would have skewed thm to support hillary. basically what im saying is that sanders was dead in the water from the start of the democratic primaries, just like hillary was from the start of the republican primaries. there was no possible outcome where he took the candidacy.

I have nothing but respect and gratitude for those people who sign up to die, who are willing to fall on their sword, for doing what they think is right.
Lets not pretend that the government uses the military for anything just, though. Its not about "defending the mainland from foreign threats", its about guarding our economic interests overseas.
Well said.

I'd been saying to people irl all along: if it were Warren instead of Clinton, she would've done waaay better. I would actually love to see her run next election.
there's no name recognition there. she'd have been crushed.
sanders was the only viable choice from the beginning. maybe biden if he chose to ran.
I'd be fine with any of them. I do like Warren quite a bit though.
biden would have been nice. but the dems would never make a literal who like her their candidate. even though shed likely be best suited for the position, you need mame recognition to do anything. trumps momentum in the beginning was all about his name, and the financial success associated with it. i dont think the dems ever expected sanders to get so popular, being the nobody he was, and from the getgo planned to shove hillary down our throats because of her status.

Tl;dr - I want the country to burn to validate my hate
good job
not only will you be 30, you'll be a 30 year old irrational man child
But I'll be right.
I don't want to burn the country to validate anything--I want the country to burn because it deserves it, period.
You knowingly threw your vote away on Stein in a highly contested battleground state, and then you have the nerve to go and throw a temper tantrum when the candidate you didn't vote for didn't win? Literally fuck off. You don't even have a leg to stand on here. You live in a swing state, you threw your vote away, you suffered the consequences. You have nobody to blame here but yourself.
i'm sorry, but i just don't agree with this. verbatim didn't throw his vote away by voting for someone unlikely to win. we should NOT be blaming those who actually vote for this outcome. this is on the 46% of eligible voters who just stayed the fuck home, on top of a few smaller reasons. i don't agree with verbatim's stance on this whole ordeal but he makes an excellent point. he voted for who he thought should be president, which is more than can be said about most of his generation.

there should be a program in which people wishing to flee from the US can switch with those who want to live under Trump and/or somewhere down south.

im just disgusted by the response to it given the lack of actual action on the people complaining.
And that means the whole of western citizens deserve more hardship?
you can't justifiably complain about something if you refuse to do anything about it
if you dont like the outcome, convince people to vote next time.
Are you trying to equate the whole of western citizens with those that you feel complain unjustly?
what are you even on about
46% of people didnt vote many of those people are going to go out and complain about trump
when the inevitable shitstorm comes, whatever capacity that it may be in, it will be well deserved considering almost half of us apparently dont even care enough to voice our concerns via the democratic process
On on about the fact that you stated, "western citizens deserve what's coming to them," without any distinction. As if the whole of western society is just as responsible for the actions of a subset of people as those people themselves.
yes. those who do go out and vote are at fault too because they allow their children and peers to stay at home and complain behind their phone screen. your contention seems pedantic.

voting should be mandatory in a democracy.
Worst idea ever.
You realize a good chunk of people who don't vote are people who know nothing about politics by their own admission?
and then complain about the outcome? fuck that shit.

Absolutely not. Too many low info voters is what gave us Trump vs. Clinton.
i dont see how it could get any worse than what we had now

42% of Canadians didn't vote last year. 46% of young Brits stayed home. and 46% didn't show up yesterday.
what a fucking disgrace. our democratic process is a joke. entitled little shits never seen a day of hardship can't even be bothered to utilise the right that so many died to provide. theyll tweet and cry about their problems and do nothing about it.
western citizens deserve everything coming our way.
People died for the right to vote, and I'd wager they also died for the freedom of choice. Aka the right not to vote if you don't want to.
Say what you will about the suppossed negative impacts of it, but don't try to play the blame game.
thats horseshit. there is no right to not vote. theres the right to vote, and the choice to exercise that right or not.
