Russia is nowhere near a superpower, despite how much they try to project they are.
And to answer your point directly, so what SHOULD we do? Continue sanctions? As much as I'd love to, and as much as Europe is slowly finally coming on board to actually buffing up their military (thanks, Poland), Trump seems all too eager to get rid of those sanctions.
let me reiterate, then "because we'd be going to war. i don't know why you're being so obtuse." we shouldnt be eager to send troops to fight anywhere. that should be a last resort.

Why wouldn't you want a GTA SA which is using the GTA 5 engine along with superior graphics? The problem with backwards is that if it's the 360 version, then we're going to get the shitty mobile port of the game.

4 is literally irrelevant
1) Killed off Cortana - just to revive her in the next game.
2) Introduce a new leader of the covenant who opposes the Arbiter (with three novels revolving around him + Spartan Ops) - kills him in the next game, in a fkn cutscene.
3) Get MC to 'face his humanity' and think about stuff - do not talk about it in the next game, don't even show how MC and Blue team re-united. I really think it would have been an amazing cutscene to see John's old friends welcome him back. (I know it was done in escalations, but c'mon. If Osiris got a cool intro, why not blue team?)
4) Fight Didact and make him go away - kill him off in a comic
5) Prometheans are controlled by Didact, Didact is dead, why are Prometheans still hostile towards humans?
Its like Halo 4 did not even happen.
What was the reason for Halo 4 and the books becoming irrelevant? Did 343 decide to change the direction of the story with Halo 5(Just like Bungie changing the Forerunner's from being human in CE, to them being their own thing) or were they running out off time with Halo 5 which resulted in the OG story being scraped for the half assed thing we have now?
If the "leaks" are true, a bunch of factors:
-Microsoft wanting Cortana dead in H4 so they could release Cortana siri thing and not have it associated with a game character. This backfired massively so Microsoft decided they should bring Cortana back in H5 to keep sales up.
-Similar to the backfiring thing from Cortana, Spartan Ops was being used to experiment with introducing new Spartans to replace MC, as Steve Downes wants to retire from voice acting. Everyone hated Majestic and Co. Along with SpOps in general so that forced the creation of anew group (Osiris) and a series of comics created to cut all ties to SpOps out of the canon (Escalation). Also why Jul was killed in Mission 1 and Halsey's "revenge" forgotten.
-Halo 5 was originally pitched as a spin off game focusing on Locke and co hunting MC in an open world style game very similar to ODST, only with multiple hubs and a larger role for Artemis. Closer to what was advertised (and concept art of infinity hub and stuff supports this). MS changed it so it would be a main game and this, combined with the points above, pretty much caused the atrocity we got.
TLDR: Backlash from a bunch of stuff in Halo 4 meant MS wanted all ties to that stuff gone.
