see this is why i study language
i wanna get to a point where i can articulate, with elaborate yet succinct precision, exactly why this post isn't funny
There's barely any setup and no punchline. It isn't even really a joke.
There, saved you some time.
it's kind of sad how hard you try to one-up verbatim all the time

we = father and i (he's the one who got me into NIN when i was like 8, after all) wow, that'd be so cool. is he as big a fan as you? must be nice to be able to talk about nin stuff whenever you want. and yeah, we got the closure VHS, it's pretty sweet--maybe i'll take a picture of my collection as well do it, id love to see what i'm really looking for, too, is a copy of the broken movie on VHS, that would be kickass
is it just really expensive or what?

check out year zero's remix album if you haven't--brilliantly titled Y34RZ3R0R3M1X3D (it was hip at the time)
it's often considered superior to the album itself
i own it, actually. and i enjoy the original more, for some reason. gunshots by computer is cool, though. you should see my halo collection, dude. im missing 4 or 5 entries and then i own them all (and thats including import alternative halos and videos) ill take a photo when i get home.

i agree with you almost entirely, but i'd put with teeth beneath pretty hate machine and i'd put hesitation marks above the slip
with teeth has some killer cuts, like all the love in the world, you know what you are, the hand that feeds, and right where it belongs (one of his best songs ever)
but it also has a couple of his worst songs ever, with some of his worst written lyrics ("i got my arms that FLIP FLOP FLIP FLOP FLIP / i got my head on a spring...") and a few so-corny-they're-good lyrics ("i think i'm losing my grip / but i can still make a fist..."), which only get worse on year zero, which is also probably my least favorite LP
the good still overweighs the bad on with teeth, but i still find it one of his more overrated records in general
yeah i know what you mean. my favourite song from WT is the albums namesake, With Teeth. i found it to be an awesome insight into Trent's relapse during the fragile era and his struggle to deal with addiction afterwards. it also seems to me to be the last "deep" record he puts out, cuz like we both know, everything after that sorta gets progressively more generic/corny. i also really like the rock sound of the record. and phm was the record that got me into nin, but after listening to all his other stuff as much as i have, the comparatively raw sound of that album just sorta leaves a weird taste in my mouth. it just doesnt feel like genuine trent reznor. just explainin my placement for those two. phm is still a fantastic album, i listen to it probably once a week while im chillin or driving home or something. year zero took me a really long time to appreciate, but it does have some cool lines hidden in there "we can leave all the past behind/i can see right through the whole facade/im becoming something else/i am turning into God" the way he emphasises "God" is just too πππ. a bit melodramatic but cool nonetheless. it's a weak entry sure but i still enjoyed it. and finally i put the slip above hesitation marks because i enjoy its subject matter more.

some of his most interesting lyrical imagery in broken. "the devils of truth steal the souls of the free". angry reznor best reznor.
but in terms of quality, it goes
the fragile (took me a long time to move the fragile up to first, even though i dont think it's perfect) > the downward spiral > with teeth > broken > pretty hate machine > not the actual events > the slip > ghosts 1-4 > hesitation marks > year zero.
this list makes me seem like i dont like year zero and hesitation marks that much but i actually came to enjoy both albums more over time than any of the other albums (in comparison to how much i liked them on first listens)

Meh
Just watch out for Eat Me, Drink Me. Easily is worst album--even by his own admission.
ill keep that in mind. i dont really listen to manson the same way i would other artists... take his lyrics and general persona with a grain of salt, as its intended to russle feathers. that being said there are a few songs on this record that im just like, "...really?" i just dont find him to be as introspective as some of his contemporaries. also quoted for finding a rare verbatim typo in its natural habitat
